Are there any race/races that you see yourself never playing?

Altmer. To me, they have all of the Dunmer's cultural flaws with none of the things that make Dunmer interesting.

Of course they won't have the things that make Dunmer interesting, they aren't Dunmer. None of the races will have what makes another race interesting. Instead, the Altmer have their own things that make them interesting.

That's why I said "to me." Because to me, they lack anything to make them interesting.

I wasn't talking about the "to me" part but that "that make Dunmer interesting" part. Even if you did find them interesting (like me and thousands of others) they wouldn't be the same reasons that make Dunmer interesting.

Although this may sound like racism, I don't see me creating a character of any bestial race or Orc (in case you don't consider them as a bestial race - I'm not even sure myself).

Coming from games like Mass Effect and Skyrim, in which character faces (and body - sic) actually matter, I feel too old fashion to be of a race I have no pleasure looking at, even if just in character screen or general UI.

I have nothing against them,I actually like some of Khajiit's voices (like Zur's) and since Orsinium Orcs are not necessarily talking boars anymore, as some of them are physically better looking than vanilla's.

    But even so...
I am the very model of a scientist Salarian, I've studied species Turian, Asari, and Batarian.
I'm quite good at genetics (as a subset of biology) because I am an expert (which I know is a tautology).
My xenoscience studies range from urban to agrarian, I am the very model of a Scientist Salarian.

In TES I only play the beast races. I won't play the other if I can avoid it.

TESO needs a wardrobe system badly. Something similar to WoW's tmog system would make this game one of the best mmorpg out there!

I absolutely hate Khajiit and Argonian. Anyone that refers to themselves in third person, needs to be beaten with a sack full of puppies.

Actually different cultures do and have done this - to either refer to themselves or others in 3rd person, even if they are directly speaking to this person or about themselves. Japan is one such example, where this is considered to be more polite.

you are just full of fun facts aren't you? @Lysette

I like different cultures and to travel to a lot of countries and so I am interested as well into such things. humans are extremely diverse and it is so exciting to see how people are and live in other countries.

Edit: this is a series of interesting interviews and picture of people in different cultures, which was once featured by google - quite interesting to see how people live, think and what they experience and what they tell about their life. Well, link does not work, so I have to link the longer ones

When we normally refer to humans, we have the western type in mind - but the majority of humans are not of this kind - they are quite different.

nice links! thank you for sharing! :)

Yes, that is an impressive documentary, i like what people share about their life - and the scenery does as well give some impressive views on landscapes, which look somewhat out of this world, but they are real.

There are a LOT of people who are very against the Beast Races here. Anthropomorphic Humanoid Animals have been given a really bad rap over the years, especially with the social attitude toward "Furry", which is unfortunate.

Altmer, or any Elf for that matter. Or redguard. Or pretty much anything that doesnt have a furry tail.

I MAY sometime make a Nord though, cause I'm Norse by heritage.

Yeah nord by heritage that makes sense since you live on earth and nords do not. Plz ppl, there is a difference of real life and eso.

I said Norse, not Nord. Have you heard of Norway? The Nords were made to represent Scandinavians.

Yes. I will never play an Altmer, Breton, Redguard, Orsimer, Argonian, Bosmer, Khajiit, Nord, Templar, Sorcer or Nightblade. Those are reserved specifically as storage slaves for my Dunmer and Imperial DK's.

I have mains in each alliance so I can see how everyone behaves at home. Some I'm not fond of but can't say I won't play them but others are different.

I won't play an Orc. That I think they are unsightly is secondary to their attitude, though the orc on Stros M'Kai who was under mama's thumb was funny and some of the mage Orcs seem like nice enough beings, I still don't like them.

I won't play a Nord. In ESO, they are even more rude, crude, and socially unacceptable than they were in Skyrim. I did make an girl Nord archer in Skyrim. She was in rebellion against her father and older brothers and just wanted to be an alchemist. In ESO the Nords in Ebonheart and Mournhold are enough to turn anyone off of the entire group.

Sanna yos'Phalen - Altmer Sorcerer (provisioning)

Can't abide Dunmer. Probably because I normally play as a Khajiit, & also that I have a soft spot for Argonians since my son played one in Skyrim and wrote the most amazing stories about him. Am levelling my own now.

And not too keen on Bosmer either. I just just don't like the look (too.small) or the culture or either race.

But no problem with the Altmer. It's probably the main humanoid race I'll play.

But my heart will always be with Khajiit....

    Eggborn slaves for cuteness:
    Pony Guar
    Striated Pony Guar
    Vermilion Scuttler
    Kindlespit Dragon Frog
    Helstrom Ancestor Lizard
    Bantam Guar

    Eggborn slaves for work:
    Banded Guar Charger
    Golden Eye Guar
    Tessellated Guar

..even within the lore and game Argonians take reptilian races to slaves, breed them like cattle and use them for work or house pets. I gotta say, they did learn a thing or two from the time they spend in captivity... maybe there is hope.
I mean there is a possibility that they will some day stop licking the trees for hist sap, if they keep advancing like this.
