Fastest free solo way to level vr levels?

Just hit vr2, I'm not a subscriber (bought crowns on sale and purchased all three dlc's instead). I solo play pve, no friends ingame, no one to play with, and not a member of any guilds. Other than just playing through Cadwell's silver and then gold, are there any places I should be grinding? I read that the imperial city sewers are recommended, but that they require groups, or at least two players to run. So what are my best free solo options for speeding things up a bit?

Do you have access to all dlc? If so wrothgar is a great place to grind, there are 2 public dungeons there with good loops and you get battle-leveled. If you have gold you could but xp pots to help.

I have the Orsinium dlc, yes. Gold, not so much. I buy pack/bank spaces every time I earn enough gold for the next ten slots.

Do the dailies in Wrothgar and then head over to Rkindaleft.

IMO Wrothgar is the best current grind spot if you have DLC. Stay away from the IC sewers if you're soloing at VR2. Unless you want to be ganked repeatedly and constantly spend your time respawning and travelling backwards and forwards. Wrothgar is great for World Bosses, public dungeons and delves, has the full package for VR right now.

Well I say 'constantly', but last time I was in IC sewers I got ganked 3 times in less than an hour, couldn't get anything done, couldn't get my flow on! It's does provide solid grind spots, but only if you're in a group and willing to take the risk. Find the quietest campaign if you can!

Normal maelstrom. Piece of *** to smash on 30 mins and gives you just under 1/3rd vet level per run, pop an xp pot and you'll do it an hour hassle free, plus Decon all the loot and in 15 runs or so you'll have enough for a serious crafting boost on your toon.

The silver gold areas are nice for the skill points. I've been sprinting through those and grabbing the xp as a side bonus. Very easy once you are a couple levels higher than the zone.

As far as xp goes. Buy those xp potions and put them to good use. Cyrodiil quests are very nice xp. They are super fast to complete and the first time xp boost is significant. Wrothgar is really nice as mentioned in the previous posts. First time world boss and dolmens are very nice xp. Sewers are really good, but at low levels you need another person or two.

Best way to do any of these is with 1 other person. You kill so much faster. Big groups slow down the xp rather quickly.

But from guild stores or from your provisioning writs very rarely you'll get an ambrosia fragment, collect all 7 to get the receipt to craft it yourself, needs perfect roe though, takes about 1hr fishing to get it and makes 4 pots, generally it's better to just the roe for 15k or less a pop or the xp pots for about 4-5k a pop. It's called psyjic ambrosia.

Thanks for all the info. Hadn't even noticed I never did the starter quest for provisioning or the other two that go with it. Never tried fishing before either.

One thing though, I did run Rkindaleft solo, but like I said in my op, I don't care for grouping at all, but when I go in there I keep getting invitations to group up. What's the etiquette for situations like that since I don't want to group? Do I do an emote? Do I leave and go do something else? Just seems that every time I go in there the invitations come. I play on the xbox, without a mic, so not sure what to do.

    And yeah, I know, I'm antisocial...lol.

Group up but if there are more than 4 people ditch it as the XP will less than solo or up to a group if 4. You basically get 10% more for grouping but only up to 4 people per group, sometimes on XB they like to form zergs of 30+ people and wonder why they ain't getting no XP. They won't want to chat or anything it's just for the 10%.

Thing about grouping is I won't usually play constantly for an hour, I'll clear a room then check my texts, clear a room and then go get coffee, etc. So being tied to someone else when I don't do a straight full on run for an hour seems like more of a hassle then a benefit. Just wondering how to decline properly, guessing there's a No emote?

Still trying to solo grind Rkindleft, but it isn't quite working, there's way too many groups speed running through disrupting my own grind. Is there Anyplace else I can go to grind in peace? Already did the main story mission in wrothgar, finished Caldwell's silver, started gold but can't proceed with it as the mobs now instakill me. At vr3, so suggestions on a dead spot would be appreciated.

Ebonheart pact, NA server, but have all three alliances unlocked with the Caldwell's quests.

Just tried Maelstron arena, died horribly, used up all my remaining grand soul gems for nothing.

Maelstrom is indeed a good grind spot--not the best, but it's your own private instance.

Make sure that your difficulty setting is on "Normal" and not "Veteran". There are two versions, and the latter is the "die horribly" version.

It never asked me which version I wanted, it must have been the normal one though, made it to stage 4, the flywheel one. Being a squishy vampire sorcerer though, not helpful.

Edit...Not sure if it was the normal version, my journal says it's level 50, but then everything in my journal says level 50. Whichever maelstrom it was, was def not for this character.

Just extremely frustrated with this game right now, I can play for six hours straight and seems like my levels are the same as when I started.

You have to open the group window and make sure that the dungeon mode is set to Normal. It doesn't ask you for the difficulty--you have to set it yourself.

You can see what version you're on, though, by checking the quest log. If it's Veteran difficulty, the name of the quest will have "(Veteran)" in it.

Ok, so Rkindaleft is out because too many other players run through taking the mobs I'm farming (three small groups of orcs), and Maelstrom Arena is out because on normal difficulty I die way too much. Cadwells Gold is out because the next quest step the mobs kill me almost instantly. Found Cheydinhal in Cyrodil, was doing missions there till a vr16 idiot decided to camp at the questgiver and kill anyone that shows up, so Cyrodil is out as well.

Not sure where to farm now. Been stuck at VR3 now for days, and am so frustrated that this is going so slowly I really feel like uninstalling the game already.

Um, if you're getting killed in normal Maelstrom and dying to mobs in Gold, then, at the risk of sounding harsh, you need to stop trying to grind and spend your time learning how combat works in this game.

The difficulty of nMA and the open-world zones is a joke, and if you're dying in these places, then you have far bigger problems to worry about than the speed of your leveling. Grinding up levels is something that people do on their alts after they've leveled and learned how to play on their main character. Play the game. Learn how to play. Now is not the time for grinding.

If you're just playing solo and not doing group content then there's no real reason to level fast. If you grind you'll skip a bunch of content and have no incentive to do it later.

I would just have fun in the game, whatever you like, the levels will come without realizing it, rather than staring at your xp count every few minutes. Kind of like farming for columbine, can never find it, but as soon as I forget about it and go questing, they appear all over the place.

Also, what the guy above me said, you will out level the content to the point that it is just plain boring (don't take long) so your solo experience afterwards will go down the tubes and you end up starting another post titled:

"So, I am V16, so now what do I do?"

My level 31 Vamp in NMA can stand in the Control Guardians fire attack indefinitely, what gear are you using? the boss should die or be near death by the time it starts this attack, all other adds even on round 9 can be killed with just one heavy attack too.

    Ignoring esorecon & code65...

I'm trying to level fast so I'll be vr16 when the changes hit. I don't trust at all that non vr16 characters won't be gimped somehow after the June change goes through.

Honestly, I really don't care at all if I'll be bored later or if I am skipping content. Right now fun isn't my concern, finding a spot where I'll survive grinding without tons of people running through is my only concern.

Maelstrom just isn't for me, I went in with a bunch of grand soul gems, abandoned it with zero after dying over and over. Spent eight hours ingame overnight and and am still vr3. I just can't find a place to level. I'm just repeating info now, it's all the same info as I wrote earlier.

My gear is cheap stuff gotten off the random guild vendors. I don't have the gold to spend yet on full matching sets, not after resetting skills twice, buying slots, and wasting gold on potions.
