How are any of these changes an improvement over the vet rank display we have now? It's cluttered, ugly and displays more information than is needed. The whole ui looks mangled by a Wow programmer from the 90s if you turn on all the toggles. It looks archaic and cartoonish compared to the current aesthetic.

There is no point in showing ALL champion points. Show only distributed chamption points, so it will be 501 max. 700+ dudes will just scare/confuse new players. There is no difference between 501 and 1501 atm.

Even distributed points is not that useful, as you have no way of knowing where they were distributed. Someone with 300 points distributed one way may be way more or less powerful than someone who distributed them differently. That's why I think showing CPs is unnecessary; it doesn't tell you anything useful.

I completely agree with the two above ^

It looks awful, and it is in no way useful information for anyone. Why they decided to add visible @names and CP rank is beyond me.

CP on screen is just going to lead to TOOOOOO much forum drama and in game drama. Seriously ZOS, why do you even want to go there? I can just see the hundreds of threads now about getting dumped from groups or insulted for less than optimal dps.

Wait a second what is exactly wrong with people kicking you or leaving groups of people that don't have the dps or my biggest headache "people ignoring you when you are trying to teach them the mechanics of content they obvious have no clues about." So now it's other peoples job to spend their ingame free time doing content with people who have no intentions of learning or even trying to improve for 3 or more hours right?

Yeah go somewhere else with this. This is "Other people free time not yours." If I don't want to spend hours in a 15 minute dungeon trying to solo the dungeon because the other 3 refuses to listen to others about mechanics and rather stack and continuously wiping over and over again then honestly they have the right to leave. Yall sound like abunch of cry babies who only want to force others to carry your weight in a darn game that's supposed to be fun, not a daycare job.

Yes CPs are the new levels instead of Vet ranks so they should be shown. And yes this is coming from a player with 349CPs that is not the best player in the game, that have friends and guildmates that run at "Elite" levels with more then max CPs with me. Not because I'm elite like them but because I am willing to learn and improve myself to fit their standards, so eventually I'll be able to do highly competitive content with them, and contribute more towards the guild. I think most of the so called "Elitists" fit this bracket then anything else. Basically "LIKEMINDED" people.

So IMHO for the people that are crying against CPs being shown yalls point is mute, now either L2P or don't expect to force other players to play the game for you.

@ZOS_GinaBruno Please don't change it, I want to know how many CP someone has when grouping with them or fighting them in PVP, it is important information to know just like knowing what vet rank they are now.

It should display the Max CP (right is 160 = VR16) in the best case. The 2nd best case, only display the max cap (501). However, It should NOT display total a person has.

Also, I do not want to show my @name in public, only to friends and guildmates. Showing the @name takes away from "being in the world" and RP'ing. Let's face it, @names are not lore friendly almost all the time. At very least, char names are more likely to be more lore friendly then @names.

I'll have the 501 CP by the time DB drops. I earned almost every one of those points playing Templars. I also have a new NB and a new DK that will hit 50 by DB. So, maybe you'll get an uber-experienced Templar, or maybe you'll get a DK that only has a handful of skill points and a vague idea of how to play the class. It should become clear pretty quickly that CP isn't the measuring stick some people might think it is.

I would love gear inspection :)

What motivated me to start raiding back in vanilla WoW was sitting in Orgrimmar and inspecting all the cool gear people were wearing ^^

This game does not have the kind of gear progression (at the moment) though that it'd make sense (imo).

if u want to know that ask me, do NOT spy on me! I can link my gear in chat if needed, thus anyone can inspect a player that way.

All that I know that you are some type of jerk looking for a reason to kick me form a dungeon for some silly reasons. Thus, spying tool like inspecting with asking is bad for ESO.

PLEASE NOTE: I am not saying that you are a jerk, just using the word "you" as an example.

Personally, I see no reason that CP cannot be known by everyone.

I have already filtered out the @ names from what I see in the game, but I am interested to see what they are doing.

it is odd that I once considered the information presented about other characters to be a little too minimalist, so I wrote an add-on to give more information. Now, I find myself working on PTS to remove information that ZOS presents. It is really odd being on the other side of the "minimalist UI" fence from ZOS, at least on some things. Starting to get lonely over here.

This change isn't actually bad, for exemple if you play with a bunch of different people and get group with someone with a large amount of cp who happend to play the same class as you, why not ask them for advice. Sometimes we do see build on YouTube made by less experienced gamers and they always have Something odd (sometime they are good but sometime... meh).

I mean having to show the CP is a bit as whispering the other dps and asking him how much he pull out so you can figure out the dps of the other guys without him knowing :pensive: There's always a bunch of tricks to make it work, and if sometime as a lowbie (cp Wise) you feel like you'r pulling your weight, you can tell. I mean if I see someone with 200cp bringing 15k to the table in almost any content I'll be glad to have him on board.

The issue always being, if you want to get thrown at the big bad wolf before you actually killed the little pug.

Personnally if I was lower in CP I know how I would react, I wanna do a dungeon that might be hard for me, I'll look for people who are almost on the same CP level as I am, and that in order to have a fair catch of the dongeon and then ask them if they want to come in. I would not ask the 501CP of my guild because I want a free ride, because that would mean Nothing on the long run. Same if I want to farm Inside the sewer, or do a helm farm group.

So it's not actually bad, it helps people to create network if they focus on having a team of there level instead of a team at someone else level.

As far as CP rank, it just make it public information how much time you have spent on the game / grind IMO, not much more.

Just show allocated CPs... Dosent matter if someone has 2000 or 1000 CP. Cap is 501. So show allocated up to that point. This is relevant information. Not just in PvE but in PvP.

Get into an engage with someone, you'd want to know if they are CP 100 or CP 500. If you are a CP 200 toon against a CP 501 toon, the odds are not in your favour. You might want to kite and back off until reinforcements arrive. Same thing as when vet ranks existed. You wouldnt want to pick a fight with a v16 if you are a new v1 player. Or vice versa. I dont like to bully v1s around when I was at v16. Was at a delve once to get the AP buff and this poor v1 totally freaked out upon seeing me. Started spamming dodge roll and hard casting frags... I just held block till he realised I wasnt going to pwnzor him.

Anyway, for PvE its relevant info too. Since CP is replacing vet ranks, its essentially your new "level". When vet ranks existed, you would see the vet ranks of everyone involved. People had requirements for pledges for example; "v16 group LF2M v16 DPS for vet _____". The reason for this was that maybe they were farming for a certain helm at a particular level. With Vet ranks gone, im assuming we are getting CP gear level. So if a group wants to farm in the future let's say a CP 180 helm, you'd want a group of at least CP180 players. Getting a CP 80 player would be like doing v16 vWGT pre-nerf with a v5 toon.... Not pleasant and borderline undoable without scaling. Even with scaling, you would most likely be a burden on the group unless you are a fantastic player with proper gear. My guesstimate is less than 20% of the population would fall into this category.

Hopefully I dont offend anyone and people realise the importance of showing allocated cp. However, I do agree showing total CP has no purpose. 2000 CP when CP cap is 501 is kinda pointless information.

As for @names... Uhm I think it can be seen even now.. However, I think this information should only be available to guildies and friends. I dont appreciate unwanted tells as much as the next person.
