Theres tons of competitive games were you need certain skills to succeed.
Even in this game you would get your ass handed to you if you just mash buttons.

I am still a bit in shock, because you appeared to be calling me a "scrub", and told me to "gtfo" - if those aren't the sorts of things you would want said to your grandmother, you shouldn't be using them yourself. It's not nice.

Up until that point, we were all just having a discussion about CP. I know everyone has strong opinions on it, but that is just not acceptable.

    You didnt answer my question...

What im talking about is competitive pvp or an arena environment. If you need any other advantage than better reactions, more knowledge etc youre a scrub.

Nice another one of those pretentious PvP players thinking they have all the skill reserved for themselfes.
Show me how you easily clear vMOL or the new Sanctum then we can talk about how easy PvE really is.
You really have no more or less skill than a guy that really knows his stuff in PvE.

This is an mmo, not a single player game, there has to be some sort of an even playing field.

Lets keep personal attacks out of it. So you are saying NFL player A who works hard, studies, hits the gym every day (grinds CP) is going to be the same as NFL player B who has the same talent and drinks and parties? Not sure what competitive environment you are referring to.

Not the same at all, because your body has physical limitations. If you continually raise the CP cap then there are no limitations. The CP cap is the "physical" limitation.

Also in the NFL and other sports, practice makes perfect and you become more skilled through practice.

    CP =/= skill.

Not sure why people are complaining about wanting CP cap raised when 160 CP is going to technically be 'max level' for gear progression. Access beyond 501 gives you exactly, what in the game right now? Will be nice once I finally reach cap then I can actually focus on doing something else in the game besides chasing a number... like maybe slowing down and enjoying the content. But in ESO and most MMOs, you're made to feel like you have to be MAX in order to feel like you've accomplished anything... it is all psychological of course, but when so many people are talking about how they want a CP increase, it is easy to see that CAP as a necessary evil that one must reach in order to be considered 'accomplished' in the game.

So no, I don't agree with the cap being raised at this time... especially with VR ranks being removed which will, in itself, throw a lot of turmoil into the game for a period of time until people get used to the changes and the bugs are fixed... well, at least worked on. :p

I think they should raise the cap.....WHY you might ask?! Well because we haven't had a raise since they installed the cap and we already know it will only raise 51 pts at a time. So we will most likely only get another 102 pts for all of 2016! As it is, it's going to take at least 5 years to get half way to max (granted they don't add something new by that time)

It would be nice to have SOME CP progression since my V16 is going to be removed so I will have little to show for it anymore.

Then they need to reintroduce Soft Caps into PVP to pretty much put every one on the same level there.

As a PVE player, while I like some content to be challenging, I like to be able to play my character the way I wanted to as a Hybrid tank, and not allowing me to continue to progress my character any further is extremely frustrating especially with the changes coming as my play style has been heavily nerfed across the board.

So, there is now one less tank willing to do daily dungeons and the weekly trails not only with my guild, but with pugs as well.

Also, what is the point of playing any more if I am not progressing? Sure, I am earn CP at half the normal speed now due to the catch up mechanic raising the required XP to over 650k per point. I am better of waiting until the Cap is raised before doing any of the new content because then at least I feel like I am earning something.
Far too many characters to list any more.

More time means more skill in the real world, CP is what happens when you put time into the game, CP=skill your clearly mad you dont have the cap yet, i have a life, no job but i have school, takes more time then the average 9-5 job and i have a girl, im on console with over 400 cp, no excuse for having low cp other then not putting in enough time. And ill name a sport where more time gives you better things, EVERY SPORT, you think a sports team just has money? WRONG, a sports team gets better players or pieces based on the money it has, how does it get money? by having its current players invest time into the sport to win, get money, then "buy" better players, the nfl draft for example, good players or "pieces" dont go to the bad teams they go to the ones that worked hard and won(or deflated balls)

Dude are you serious? Did you really just relate CP to skill? If anything NFL player A is like an ESO PvPer who knows the game better, has better reactions, and is just a better PvPer than player B.

Real competition happens when people test their skills in combat not their CP levels.

    Your argument is laughable.

Raising cap in DB patch from 501 to 552 as they PROMISED in October would not be game breaker and at least would be a bone thrown to decent amount of people. It will be almost a year on the same cap in case they increase with the next DLC after DB. Unless they change their mind again.

Meanwhile we had cake event, catch-up mechanics since Wrothgar and don't forget all get an extra 40 CP with the removal of veteran ranks.

For me the worst part is that yet again ZOS made a straightforward promise/announcement just to break it later.

I have mixed opinions on this.

One part of me thinks if you have 501 CP that means you reached top level and you beat the game.

On the other hand, ZOS could remove the CP cap, and create some type of tier for the elite players. For example once you reach 502 CP you move to another level of advancements. As far as PvP goes you will not be allowed to compete with players that have 501 CP and below.

I think elite players should be able to continue to advance.

agree. if you want to, make catch-up even stronger. I don't want a bigger edge, I just want change, new limits to play around with, buffed new encounters and see myself outlevel the old stuff, etc etc

I think elite players should be able to continue to advance.

Except that you can have TONS of CP without being an elite player or even a good player. I have over 600 and I wouldn't consider myself a strong players, especially not in PvP.
A guildie of mine has 800 CP (he loves rerolling alts all the time from 1 to V5...) , and he's an horrendous player believe me (he says so himself),
And tons of average players have tons of cracked-wood-caved CPs which don't make them good players.

Not increasing the CP cap is human excrement. We all play the game to advance our characters and get better. .../... [snip]

We all ??? We all ?????
Please express your opinion in your own name, not mine.
I have above 600 cP but I'm OK with the cap not being raised, and I play for fun, not for "progress"...

Calm down sparky. It's just an expression.

What is the point of earning anymore champion points when 501 is the max?

Aren't MMOs about progression? I am not a grinder by any means at all but am still over the cap by a fair amount and now for what?

If ZOS wants everyone to be at 501 CP how about you start everyone there and forget about lvs 1-50?

I enjoyed advancing my characters but for what now?

To khajiit there are only a few things that keep them, a casual murdering sort, playing and paying for the game.

One of these is of course the many delightful story lines they can bumble their way through and enjoy on their own time.

But these can often be done in a relatively short time space, and often one does not wish to repeat them to often. This is to prevent them from losing some of their entertainment value and become as repetitive, and dull. as gaining Undaunted XP on a new character.

The second is of course the grand and glorius fighting of the other peoples.

Unfortunately that has remained much the same as it has for two years, and one can only storm a breach at 2 FPS so many times before one needs something new. Incidentally running through sewers in a massive blob like a pack of rabid hamsters does not constitute a new thing as far as Telel is concerned.

Finally there is some form of leveling up of one's many things and sorts. It is as natural as a bird wishing to fly up into the air so that it can enjoy gazing down on all that now lays below it.

Sadly once someone sticks a big ceiling over the bird's head he can't gain much altitude, and indeed gets most annoyed at his now bruised skull. This tends to lead to dead birds, or at least very bored and fat ones.

oh, and their plumage suffers too. You do not wish to see this one with poor plumage do you?

That is why Telel is most humbly displeased at this reveals on the raising of the champion point cap. Especially as all their current toons shall be stuck there with nothing to do but grind out the same skills, and storm the same breaches this one has done oh so many times before.

Why should this bird keep spreading its wings if all it shall receive is another bump on their now molting noggin?
