    My NPC crushes have always been Darien and Jakarn <3 (who are similar in personality anyhow), though clearly I'm not the only wistful one! I think it's rather unlikely either of them would settle down though...

    Or they could add something like with the banker and shopkeeper you can get, that certain characters you "buddy" up with can be added as an assistant and be called apon, and will aid you for a time with overworld combat (such as delves and world bosses), have their own skill set they use, and can't die (like how normal followers work in the game already). It wouldn't be very hard to implement besides new voice lines for the characters, they could even add some sort of friendship meter, doing their quests, earning XP in delves with them, or completing other quests with them increases their friendship level and gives them new abilities and gives you a bonus quest to do with them (sort of like with Fallout 4's followers).
