How will VR gear work after removal?

There's quests where the loot matches your level so if you're VR 1 you get a VR 1 item and so on. What will become of such things once the VR ranks are removed?
I was saving the main quest on 1 character as I wanted a higher ranked staff.

What about other vet rank rewards like Mannimarcos costume? I haven't got to VR 10 yet but I wanted it eventually.

I also wonder about existing VR items, what will change about them other then name? It will be a bad move if pre-patch VR items are stronger then the ones that you'll be able to obtain after patch.

It will all be based on how many CP you have from my understanding of it.

I am assuming the costume rewards for vet levels will remain and be triggered by CP levels eventually.

As far as how they plan on implementing, nobody knows anything for sure, but there are about 10 threads on here already discussing the possibilities.

I hope we get an official explanation soon as there's other things that I wonder about like skill points for every VR rank and VR areas.

Will the MQ/Fighters Guild/Mages Guild/Dungeons scale to a combined CP level? I won't like the idea of my new level 50 guy being forced to tackle tougher quests because I have a seasoned vet that has earned a bunch of CP. I also hope that this won't create a bigger gap trying to play with my friend as he's only 5 VR levels above but likely has considerably more CP.

Basically loyal players that have spent time with the game will get screwed twice. 1. Players at v16 but not at cap get 160 additional cp. Those at cap get them too but cannot use them so worthless.
    2. Current v16 gear will be cp level 160, so those at cap need to craft look for all new replacement gear immediately as they will be substantially below level geared.

Bolded part is false, based on what was previously said. He's how it was explained months ago when it first came up:
[*] We’re planning on giving 2.5 CP for every VR level you’ve earned on your highest level character. (40 for a VR16 character)
[*] When the conversion happens, any player with CP less than their old veteran rank * 10 will instead be given enough CP such that their total is VR * 10.
    In other words:

ALL players at V16 will get 40 more CP.

After that, any player who is V16 but who still has less than 160 CP, will get bumped up to 160 CP.

So the ONLY VR16 people that will be getting more "free CP" than everyone gets will be players who are VR16 and don't yet have 120 CP. And all they are going to get is the difference between what they have and 120. I honestly can't believe there are that may people at VR16 that have WAY less than 120 CP. Personally, I had almost twice that much before I hit VR16.

    2. Current v16 gear will be cp level 160, so those at cap need to craft look for all new replacement gear immediately as they will be substantially below level geared.
    This part is ALSO false.

The highest level gear will be 160 for a while. They already said they don't play to release higher CP gear for "long time", so people with more than 160 CP aren't going to have to immediately create better gear, as there will be no better gear to create.

I swear... Most of the "SKY IS FALLING" people on these forums are freaking out over stuff that isn't even true, because they don't understand anything that was already said.

Possible I misread the first part somewhere and the second was conjecture but if that's the case then they will actually be changing nothing then so really what's the point? Perhaps a good solid response in one place from zos rather than leaving us to piece together snippets of eso live comments, random posted comments etc together, explaining exactly what will be happening is in order.

However, in all fairness, i have three VR16 and FIVE lowrr VRs and have been over cap for a while.

So I anticipate having five new VR16 equivalent gear capable characters when DB drops.

If I am the type of person that equates CAPABLE and GOTTA HAVE then I am looking at "needing" to be ready to craft/equip for my five upgraded chars.

Being pragmatic, I also wanna get prepped for that BEFORE it becomes more widespread knowledge and guild store prices adjust to inc demand.

I spent "Cake week" leveling alts toward level 50, knowing they would be max level when VR was removed, since I'm over 501 CP. That was the easy part. Gearing them is something else. :s

Ha ha I did the same thing, except I have so many v16 mats saved up I can barely use my bank at this point.

If they end up introducing a new crafting tier with DB I might have an aneurysm.
