But... I don't need them.

You're finally fixing that terrible mistake of giving us 10 races and 8 character slots :P
Lol, jokes aside..
I was really looking forward to this!
But there's something that must be said: I hope the price is not salty...
I mean... Anywhere from 500-1000 crowns seems acceptable to be.
Think of it like an investment: You don't expect great returns for the slot itself, but a new character means new potential for Riding Skill books, XP scrolls, Potions, maybe a new costume and mount to match their style, etc...
What you guys think about it? Should it be overpriced (being a new slot a "big thing") or should ZOS look at it as an "investment" and make it cheaper, hoping that new characters will motivate crown store consumption so they're ready for action faster?

Like I have said from day one they sell the DLC dirt cheap and justify it by selling everything else 1000% higher then they should. Expect them to be 3,000 - 5,000 each. If not You will see me and several others come unglued...
I mean a bank assistant is 5k
Mounts are 2,500k
motifs are 5k
If this which is a huge thing is cheap then they need to adjust all other prices.
Well, I hope that they realize that the value they are looking for isn't directly tied to selling the slot for the character. The value, at least in my opinion, is via extras for the new character such as costumes, motifs, riding lessons, bank slots and inventory slots.
I really hope they are smart enough to see this. The character slot is the cheap, door greeting sale that leads to the hefty stuff down the road.

Expect these to be pricey. They know that most of us at some point will really-really want to make a new character, and if the option is there then temptation will get the better of us no matter the price.
Some people are suggesting lower pricing because they are some sort of investment, and a low start price will lead to more crown purchases later on. I would argue the opposite is true, if you have sunk 5-10 thousand crowns invested into a character slot then what's a few hundred more for the perfect costume?
It's not ideal, but overall I have to applaud ZOS for keeping the dlc affordable.
It's simple, I do not need another character, but I would buy another slot, if it would have a reasonable price. I have not made up my mind yet though, what is reasonable.
There is an alternative to this - just buy a new account on sale for 22€ - 8 slots, no extras, and just play the game plain, bank space and such just paid with gold. Experience the game as it was originally meant to be played. Never buying anything from the crown store. A totally separate game - if I want bling, I play the first account, if I don't the second one.
A lot of that crown store stuff I have is nice - but I do not need it really. I have this account with this stuff, and I can enjoy it, if I want to. But on the other side, it is asset which I have to care for. I do not really need that. My first account can perfectly support the second one and that one is just enjoying, not crafting nor anythign of that, So I do not need to subscribe.
So basically, I can have 8 slots for 22€ on sale - that is about 3500 crowns - so one slot costs me not even 400 crowns this way. Without all the bling and glitter of my first account. I kind of like the idea, to be free from all this asset and just play to have fun. What I need to store, can be stored on the first account, for all other I have enough space on the second for free.
So yes, maybe 1000 or 1500 crowns for a slot - that is generous of me - if they don't comply, then I'll buy a second account.

I play the game as I have since the first betas. So,I dont get what you mean. I simply said the prices I would and would not pay.Nothing about needing more slots myself. I do have a few things from the crown store, but not a lot.I do upgrades on my mounts occasionally, but that's pretty much it.
I play the game with a few mods lately, but in the beginning,I used none at all.I was fine with it that way.
So,from my comment, your reply to mine is kinda odd.
I more and more like the idea of a second account - I can combine them via my guild.
Edit: I just consider which of my characters are using costumes - and those are just 2 - the only costumes I would buy on the 2nd account would be the brocade robe and the new bosmer outfit with bead chains. That is 1700 crowns. I can feed the new characters with gold from the first account, that is no problem at all, they can upgrade their inventories and bank space and buy a sorel horse, which is not a bad one.

I wouldnt mind getting a second account though.Interesting ideas you have there,Lysette.

Nah, it isn't really - I was pondering with the price range you offered - and was giving my thoughts about this price range actually. It was not meant as a suggestion to you, but just how I get to the same conclusion about your price range.
Edit: and when I consider price ranges, I have to explore alternatives, which provide me as well with character slots. I have to consider advantages and disadvantages of it and how they effect me. I was just pondering those ideas seen from my perspective - and I came to a price of 450 crowns per slot plain, when I consider those both outfits I would have to buy twice it is 650 crowns - so 1000 to 1500 crowns, like you said, would be acceptable for the advantage to be able to use all the stuff I already have, even I do just need 2 of those.

I would really like to know how many we will be able to buy.
