What are your thoughts on the DB notes that were just released?

Curious to see everyone's thoughts.

To me this is ZOS not listening to players again and just doing whatever comes to mind.

Scaling sanctum to V16 is cool, but it needed to happen two patches ago, and it's literally just a modification to the game they already have (in typical ZOS style)

Is there any NEW and CHALLENGING content that required creativity this patch (New 4 mans, trials, etc) nope. Just the same old stuff but scaled.

I will be unsubbing and.hoping for a good patch next year.

    Edit:

I will say I appreciate the revisit of old content (Sanctum) and some Imperial City love though. (I hope they can solve the gank playstyle this area promotes though)

Seriously? Your main complaint is that they changed something later than you wanted them to?

There are a bunch of things on the list that people have been begging for like the do not deconstruct button. Sounds to me like they are listening to the fan base.

There are certain parts I am super excited about: poisons, crafting bags, VR removal, LFG improvements, etc. However I am really disappointed that there is no new group PvE content. In IC we got new 4-man dungeons, in Wrothgar we got a new solo trial, in TG we got a new 12-man trial... but in DB we get nothing. Scaling SO is good, but I was really hoping for new 4-man content, even just vet versions of some of the non-vet dungeons we already have.

My complaint is that ZOS likes to scale things and call it new. If they make something new it's pretty much one thing per patch thats relevant.

I bet you like the Thieves Guild passives too.

Mmhmm. Bug fixes are not a DLC.

Tell me, what content are we downloading? +2 to the level.of the sanctum mobs, some poisons, more Motifs (so we can look good while we sit bored in town) annnnnd.... A new area with a new quest line..

Some things I am looking forward to, but I've never liked the Dark Brotherhood and none of my characters have joined them, so until I see something that reminds me of the Knights of the Nine I'm going to just be content with seeing things that I think would be "good" for the game rather than things that get me all hopping up and down.

This. There is no actual new content except few hours of quests (probably 6-10 tops) in this DLC. If this is it, it better be 1000 crowns lol.

Also... @ZOS_GinaBruno why ONLY sanctum lol ? You want us to pay for other DLCs for AA and Hel Ra ? Adding SO to DB, AA to the next DLC and Hel Ra to the third calling it new content lol ? And then what? Fourth DLC will have "scaling Maw to CP 220" as new content ?

Im not a big fan of running around being an assassin. In Oblivion and Skyrim I always did that last when I had nothing else left to do. So generally Im not that excited over the fact one will be able to join the Dark Brotherhood. But I am excited about Anvil and Kvatch. Though I wonder if that will include Skingrad but it just wasnt mentioned. I hope so. Cyrodiil was and will always be my favorite part of Tamriel. I dont know how many times Ive looked at the map of Cyrodiil and been like "this is not the complete map....". But I just hope that one will not have to purchase the Dark Brotherhood in order to get access to any new cities in an already unlocked region.

The only thing Im not liking is the removal of Veteran Ranks. Sure some may be jumping of joy over that, Im not. Now everyone is just asking how this will effect leveling, gear, veteran dungeons, enemies etc etc. The only thing I dont like about veteran ranks is how much XP is required to level up. But other then that Im fine with it. It seems like once the veteran system is gone there will just be champion points, and 50 will be the max level. I dont see how champion points can be somehow made into a sort of leveling system. But oh well I guess we will just have to wait and see.

I'm excited for this. However, it does appear to be another small DLC similar to TG. Although anyone can be an assassin, this will be two DLC's in a row that are best played by NIghtblades.

I always preferred the Morag Tong to Dark Brotherhood in terms of lore, but I can't deny that it's been great fun playing the questlines of DB in Oblivion and Skyrim. Overall the updates sound appealing, and I look forward to roaming around Anvil Lighthouse and shiny, unbroken Kvatch.

Base game patch sounds good, but the dlc itself? Well, not really a lot of reasons to get it. No pvp arena, no new dungeons, no trial, no other form of group content.

How so? Thieves Guild required a lot of sneaking which anyone can do. NB cloak is useless with the blue detection rings. I suspect they will do something similar with DB.

Can't really say being how most of it is vague. The removal of vet levels, extra character slots, improvements to base game, and crafting bags for eso+ memebers are all positives but it really depends on how they are implemented.

I don't expect much from DB dlc itself based on what we saw from Thieves Guild dlc. That's not to say it won't be good just a very small dlc.

I'm more apprehensive than anything else about DB update. The removal of vet levels along with all these other changes combined will be the biggest change ESO has seen imo.

I'm thinking the cp levelling will work along the lines of rather than having vr1, vr2 gear etc you'll have cp0-30, cp 31-60 gear etc and they'll use the same mats as at present. As cp's are account wide if you want to create a new character you'd only need to level them to 50 and then you'd be able to use the same level gear as any other characters you've already got to 50 based on the number of cp's you have. I've had the game since launch on console, I only have 1 character (excluding a couple of level 3 alts) and haven't reached vr16 yet as I don't have that much time to play each week (I'm vr15 so I'm finally close!) I could never see myself grinding another character to vr16 however I could see myself getting another character/s to 50 so I think the removal of vet ranks is a great idea

On balance there was more to like than not for me; but, I never play DB so that doesn't get me excited. I would like to revisit Anvil; it was my preferred home in Oblivion. I'm not sure it is enough to make me sub though. I am very disappointed by the crafting bag. I would almost prefer that it come with a Hearthfire-like build-a-home DLC. It seems a bit greedy to have to rent space I should have available another way.

They aren't giving me everything I want with this patch, but they're adding a lot of things I've wanted for a long time. As someone who has always played an Alchemist in TES games I'm happy to see that skill line get some love finally. DB needed to get released. I just hope we can join other factions in the future, like House Telvanni, Imperial Legion, Dawnguard, The Iron Wheel, etc. The game really needs to offer some sort of heroic knightly order at the very least to countermand the lack of heroic choices, or appearance of choices. I'm really hopeful they still intend to improve Heavy Armor and Tanking, although it wasn't listed in their bullet points which made me a little sad. Bag space: How can you not be happy about this? More character slots: I will be happy to make a couple more builds that I've been wanting to muck with for a long time, and it'll allow me to have a few fresh Blackwater toons. I loved TG and I'm going to love playing hitman on my lizard.
