still get static every hour or so and random loops of whatever audio clip. this im encountering over and over. longest loop lasted for was 15 minutes. happens once randomly oduring gaming sessions.no longer playing with head set because the random static when it does happen is to loud to risk having head phones on.

There are still incorrect (looping) sounds and static.

@ZOS_GinaBruno my hubby and I play five feet away from each other and are both playing on the 64-Bit client. We wear HyperX gaming headsets with surround sound to get the full effect of the game........... But Gina, I have got to honestly say these random sounds blasting through our headsets from the 64-bit client are really nerve racking. The loud static noises, the random sounds looping over and over that won't stop until you reload the game, the constant water sounds, even when you are nowhere near water, etc, are really making playing the game horrible at times.

The one thing I always liked about ESO was the sound effects in different areas, from the waterfall sounds, to the crickets sounds, but when I travel to a wayshrine and there is a constant loop of a bantum over and over and over, when there is none in site and it sounds like a skipping CD, I just want to take my headphones off and play the game soundless.

Please can you give us some idea of when this issue will be fixed?

Yes the white noise is very distracting, but every so often the randomness in sounds leads to something delightful. Hearing a lion roar as I cast my execute on my khajiit night blade the other night had me laughing until I was crying. Execute... Battle roar!

At first I thought the audio was 100% fixed, but I still get the occasional weird "static" noise, or strange ambient noises out of place. It isn't nearly as flagrant as before, but will still happen from time to time just to remind me that it isn't perfect.

But at least now it's playable... I previously had reverted to the 32-bit client because the audio on 64-bit was so borked. But I've since gone back to the 64-bit and it's very tolerable.

I could report similar issues and that it seems to be getting better a bit at a time, but others have already covered that above. I have tried with and without plugins. As a coder I know it is tempting to suspect someone else's code but that is not the problem here.

One thing I will mention is that the performance on my 32bit client is abysmal since TG. If it were decent I would just ignore the 64bit client until it is debugged but that is not possible. I can manage to craft, manage inventory, do mount training, and generally work in menus. But combat in 32bit is a bad joke. It was fine (at least acceptable) before TG so clearly some changes were made that caused this performance hit.
EDIT: I just checked the 32bit client again and performance seems acceptable now. Just a bit slower than 64bit, just enough to notice. I had not tried it for a while, so one of the updates must have addressed this issue. But the other things I mention below, those are still issues.

I also notice that as I play, and especially when I fast travel or sprint my mount for a long distance, my frame rates will begin to drop, falling even into the single digits. If I sit still they will rise again but as soon as I start to move they will drop again. If I quit the game and get back on it's all good again. That sounds like a memory leak to me, or failure to clean up old objects. This is not new with TG nor is it just 64bit, but it is worse now and happens much faster, sometimes after just one or two fast travels or a long run.
EDIT: I just noticed that the NVIDIA game optimization utility considers the 32bit and 64bit clients to be different, which makes sense. So I just ran optimization for 64bit and it helped a lot. I DO still get this diminishing framerate issue but I had to do a number of fast travels and run a long, long distance before it started dropping my framerates into the 30s. But once I did, they would not rise above the 40s even just sitting still in an area with no one around. The 32bit client still has this issue as bad as ever. And ShadowPlay is still a no-go in 64bit.

I would be happy to give you some video except that NVIDIA's ShadowPlay utility is not compatible with the 64Bit client for some reason. I've been keeping both the NVIDIA drivers & software and ESO up to date. I keep hoping someone will put out a fix but so far no joy.

In the most recent PC/Mac incremental patch (2.3.9), we implemented a number of fixes for the 64-bit client. If you have a machine that meets the requirements, we’d love to get some feedback from you on how the client is performing. Once you manually launch the 64-bit client and play the game for a bit, please answer the following questions:
    1. Are you still running into issues with the audio?
      • If so, what specifically are you having trouble with? This could include incorrect sounds, static, or missing audio.
    2. Are you still seeing any pink or missing textures?
      • If so, how often?
    3. Are you experiencing any crashes?
      • If so, what were you doing when you crashed? Did you receive any specific error message?
    4. Are you running the game with any addons?
      • If so, which ones?
      • Note that out-of-date addons may cause you to run into issues, so please make sure they are up to date or temporarily disable them.
    Thanks for your help!

I am actually just trying 64 bit client for the first time. Played for quite a few hours, and restarted the game a few times. I am getting seemingly random, LOUD, audio artifacts. They are usually environmental in nature ( the sound an animal makes, or running water, etc), last about only 1-2 seconds, and sometimes so amplified it just comes through as static. I can confirm that the sounds do happen to be from things in my vicinity, but it is as if the mechanism responsible for emulating a sounds location in a 3D space via volume+left/right is pumping everything to max at just random moments.

Yesterday, I swapped from Azura Star to BWB campaign. Many of the trees had the pink glitch. Wasn't as awesome as the pink disco tunnel in the thieves guild quest though.

Ive still been getting random sound glitches. Nowhere as bad as the complete sound drop in battle like before though.

But, whats more annoying is the lag/ latency spikes seen in heavy battles. This has lead to me dying in many instances.

I stopped using the 64bit client last week. No problems except when I was in the sewers. I would go from 60fps to 10fps every time opposing players were near.

Today, I was crafting at the blacksmith station. Instead of playing the crafting audio, it played what sounded like a horse snorting each time I crafted a weapon. A lot less static than before, which is likely just luck, and a lot more "wrong audio" and "no audio" problems. I certainly hope they fix the audio issues, and do it before DB comes out.

Q: Are you still running into issues with the audio?
If so, what specifically are you having trouble with? This could include incorrect sounds, static, or missing audio.

    • Actually, yes. There's static from time to time, you know, like random scratching noises that last a few seconds. These vary in volume and intensity, and its occurrence is completely random.
    • Another thing I have noticed is the lack of voices at some dialogues.

Q: Are you still seeing any pink or missing textures?
    If so, how often?

    • Not that I am aware of.

Q: Are you experiencing any crashes?
If so, what were you doing when you crashed? Did you receive any specific error message?

    • I have not experienced any crashes yet.

Q: Are you running the game with any addons?
    If so, which ones?

It was pinned at the top of the page...until today when they seemingly unpinned it. The have either given up on it or think they have all the information they need to fix it.

I hope the latter. I still get all sorts of weird looping sounds and what sounds like "sped up" Alvin and the Chipmunks audio bits.

I hope the unpinning means a proper patch including reorganising our 64bit client into the proper directories is coming. The sound bugs alone are bad enough, it clear the whole client is a mess atm as far as the 64bit version goes.

Still have static and random background noises with the 64bit client. Come on ZOS it has been a few month since you released the 64Bit client and the audio issue has not been resolved. Now you are getting ready to release yet another dlc which with your track record will most likely create more issues for players to deal with.,

Missing voice acting of NPCs and music randomly stopping are my biggest issues with sounds - and some sound effects which do not go with the situation - like I harvest a plant and hear an open chest sound or I jump onto a rock and hear a plank creaking or i hear water from the shore, but I am in the middle of a desert.

Frequent bursts of static. Frequent misplaced/looping sounds...Boats creaking and other dock noises, animal and mob sounds randomly popping up. No misplaced or missing dialogue. The static is the worst and happens anywhere, anytime.
    2. Are you still seeing any pink or missing textures?
      This appears to be fixed.
    3. Are you experiencing any crashes?
Occasional CTD with no option to send a report.

Happens for no consistent reason. In a dungeon, running through town, anything.

Everything seems to be in good working order for me on the 64 bit client, except for the random audio issues. Music stopping randomly, lack of voice from npc's, incorrect sounds for the action I am performing. A bit less frequent I also experience some of the odd static sounds and some effects heard in an endless loop.

    1. Audio: I hear sometimes random sounds different than intended for certain actions, like picking some plants with the sound of a bird. Also annoying long hisses are still a main problem - they are very loud. Also sometimes the ambient music is cut without particular reason. Then it's silence for few minutes and music starts from beginning.

    3. Crashes: Sometimes after loading game for the first time I get CTD, but not every time I log, so really not a big deal. Usually after this first crash I start game again and then it runs fine for hours.

    4. I use some most popular addons, few are outdated that's true - can they cause the hissing issues and other sound problems?
