Ultimate is gained at a faster rate then 1pt per kill. Much much faster infact. No need to save that soul harvest for days at a time

On their own; level, gear sets and skill combinations are all insignificant in battle. The art of fighting is all about the tail. This can make combat difficult for those without tails, or for those like me who lose theirs after being rolfstomped by Naw Sunrest. Explain how transit works between keeps remembering that outposts can be ported to but not from.

Soul gems need to be the level 50 variety to work.

Explanation of home keeps , emperor keeps and how the scroll gates are opened.

Explanation of the mechanics of seiging ie when a wall drops below 50% the keep is flagged. If an outer wall is taken to 0% you can go through the hole. To plug the hole it needs repairing to 25%. The inner works the same but needs reparing to 90% to close it.

For a beginner I'd just say give it a go and try to stick with a group but still expect to die a lot. Training up riding skill is must as well with all the horse simulator you'll be playing.

If I could tell my Day 1 self anything, I would say be sensitive to the gear I am wearing for a character. Just because I have an idea for something doesn't mean abandon what I already have for something I presume to be better. Sticking to what you have and learning how to play that character with that type of gear could be more or less exactly how I want to play the character in PvP. Trying new things obviously should never be bad, but they need to be well thought out and not just a knee jerk change. This can cause loss of motivation due to the fact the character can't get comfortable playing one roll and keeps changing masks needlessly.

I have thousands of PVP kills, and have taken hundreds of keeps. Here are some tips for you that may fly in the face of conventional wisdom.

1) Build your character all Magic, all stamina or all Health. Don't hybrid.
2) I have 2 main attacks on my Templar, reflective light and radiant oppression. The rest of my skills are skills that make these two skills better and a self heal
3) Always have a self heal on both bars. That .1 second to flip bars is often the difference between life and death.
4) Figure out what you are best at and do that. Don't listen to people that say you have to do one thing or another. For example, you'll often hear people say you can't do X because vampires are weak against fire. Those people don't realize that your Vamp passives make you 50% harder to kill at low health and mist form can turn a proxidet into a tickle.
5) Equip invisibilty potions to get out of dodge. There are tons of complaints about Zergs. All you have to do is drink a potion and let the Zerg run by you.
6) Staves can be used as a way to regenerate magic and health. Staves also work well when it gets laggy. Duel wield gives you the most spell damage but don't help you recover resources as effectively since you have to be in your opponents face to use them.
7) Cyrodiil is NOT 100 people fighting 50 1 on 1s. You can be the world's greatest dueler and be awful at standard PVP. Conversely you can be a total beast at standard PVP and be awful at dueling. My character is built to be the last damage dealer standing in a group of 100. If you find me 1 on 1 I'll be at a distinct disadvantage to an equally skilled player.
8) Bring lots of soul gems and siege equipment.
9) Repair everything.
10) Most important tip ... LOOK AROUND! Always assume you are never safe. You should either be sneaking or running (or riding) 100% of the time. When doing so swing your camera around to every direction often.

There are hundreds of other tips that I could list (don't take mines when there are 30 bad guys in a tower; you're about to get farmed) but these should work. PVP is a ton of fun when done right, but it's not easy, and unlike dungeons your best set up isn't going to look right on a spreadsheet.

Truth. I recently tried to implement a few changes that many people say you should do and it broke my character. The Vicious Death set sounded fun but didn't help me at all. Changing from a vampire to a human lead to me dying at a rapid pace. Changed that back after 2 days. I've been running 7 pieces of gold infused light armor for months because it worked FOR ME. It may not work for most people but it did for me.

^^^ Yup. Here's a good example why daniel is right;

I chased a Red Sorc to Bloodmaynes farm yesterday. Just outside the NPCs aggro range, me and a few others engaged the Sorc. Only to have the pugs get out classed by a skilled Red MagNB who suddenly engaged us-- meaning these two were grouped together and the Sorc was luring yellows out for the NB to engage. After a long stand off of me interrupting the Red NBs ress' on their Red Sorc friend they peaced out. More yellow pugs arrived. And we set off towards Fareygl to take it back. Not even 2 seconds on horse back someone got ganked-- it was that SAME Red NB. Who brought 3 friends. I only survived this encounter because I dis mounted and cloaked til I was outside of their range then mounted up and left. All of those Yellow pugs died to those reds. Cept me.

2 Things I did right;

1. Have the farm at my back, the NPCs would aggro on anyone who would of jumped me while I was facing the MagNB
2. Knew I was out numbered and fled because taking Fareygl back was more important then screwing around

I would not of known any of this if I didn't cautiously engage the Sorc, and if I did not notice someone got ganked. While that yellow was getting ganked, the reds did the un-smart thing and all of them unhid. Showing their numbers. It's pretty easy to make a judgement call when you 'see' how many people out number you.

Sell everything and pay for vamp bite.
The faction quests can wait, grind first.
Heavy armour, S&B tanking build is pointless.
Roll any class other than templar.
Put impen on everything and pay to craft set items.

I dont know how experienced you are but I try to give you some insight.

1. Fotm builds. Sry but you're simply wrong. There is a difference between builds and some are stronger than other. It's a simple fact that a capable player is stronger on a Fotm build. And I don't mean copycat deltias building or so...more play Vamp on a sorc/DK until 1.5 . and sorc stam NB/ DK 1.6
2. Honor is everything in a pvp game. At least for me because I came from other mmo where the player respect the other.
3. exploits: to name a few: multiple mundus, 3x Ultimate, toggle buffs on overload bar. Stackable twin Sisters, XP grind, Mats grind
4. don't mistake me for some random.

Relax and have fun. This is the first rule of any game. If you are not having fun, why bother. It is a game, not a vocation. You don't have to be online 24/7. If you get angry or frustrated, take a break. There is an off button on the computer. Every one has good days and bad days. No matter how long you have been on a game, there is always something new you can learn.

I know I saw or red about a PvE/trials build for Templar DD that used RL, would love to see how that works for PvP. I could probably look up the other build or think about how to get more fire damage, increase the proc chance on burning light, etc, but if you have any videos about this I would be very interested in seeing your build in action. I always have to mod builds to fit my reflexes, tendencies, and the gear I am able to get, but it sounds fun to be just running around burning people

I've been playing since PC Beta, then PC launch, then XBox Beta and then XBox launch. On PC I played on a low def laptop with no add ons. I didn't transfer a character and been fighting in vet PVP on XBox since day 2 of launch when I was a level 10. It's litterally impossible to have more ESO experience than I do, and I've had to fight more of an uphill battle than most. I was even on message boards about this game 2 years before it dropped.

My Gamertag is THEDKEXPERIENCE. You'd know me if you fought the best players in NA on XBox every night. Those players surely do.

FOTM builds are 90% trash and if you can't handle a proxidet-vicious death them you're not that good.

I don't have any videos but my set up is as follows.

Vamp-Templar
7 Light, All Infused with Magic
Will Power Jewelry
Julianos and Magnus
Destro and Resto staves (use the heavy attacks at range to regain resources)
Bar 1: Bol, RO, RL, Inner Light, Entropy, Meteor
Bar 2: Bol, Charging Manuevers, Mist Form, IL, Entropy (2nd Ult varies)

This is built for large group fights. Use teammates as meat shields and shoot lasers over their shoulders.

RO has a tool tip value of 14.9 over 2.9 and RL has 5200 damage and 8200 DOT.

Meteor, RL, and RO as a rotation will burn 80% of opponents.

Equip invisibility potions for those times when you need to get out of dodge and use mist form to eat those FOTM attacks. You can absorb a meteor and a proxidet easily.

This is not a dueling build and won't work that well when fighting close up. But, if you want to be a roving cannon then have at it. I'm at 38k magic and 3k spell power. I could have it at 40 and 4 but I don't like the loss of the utility spells.
