Do healers use nightflame monster set??

I am a healer and I though of all the monster sets this seems the coolest to me in both looks and special effect, however the 2 % make it kind of non existant.

Does it really proc and is it something reliable or is this set useless??

    Its garbage....
I've tried using it with my healer but I've found I'm better off with 5 kags 4 Magnus or 3 Magnus 1 Kena.

It never procs really and if you're a Templar there's far better ways to build.

If you are another class I'm sure it would help but with Rapid Regen, Purifying Ritual your HoT's are well in check and the radius of the Totem is tiny not to mention the Proc chance is too low.

Engine Guardian is my Monster Set of choice if I'm feeling that way out but Bogdan has been banished to my storage character.

It is fairly useless, the proc chance is low and people need to be by the totem in order to be healed by it.

Well yeah i thought about engine guardian, but i wanted to do something a bit different. Everybody is running engine guardian

Currently im using 3 seducer with 2 swords and 4 julianos with resostaff and willpower jelwery.

The moster set will lose me 2 set piece from julianos

It requires overhealing to proc, and then it heals for a pitiful amount if group members are close enough... so it makes sense to use in trials, but is inferior to all other sets you could wear.

Currently healers have the option between:
1 piece of Molag Kena set
2 pieces of Engine guardian set

Molag Kena is best in pve, and Engine Guardian is best in pvp, however both are viable for both pve and pvp.

I don't believe there is a helm for healers-- well, at least not a good one. I used to do the 2 piece EG, but wasn't really that much of a help when I get the stam regen thing. lol. I like the 1 piece kena more. But currently, I am running, 5 kag + 3 or 4 julianos + 3 willpower.

However, would be nice to have healer specific helms.

Pledges: 1 piece Kena, 2 Torugs swords, 5 Julianous
Trials: 1 piece Kena, 5 piece worm cult or Lich set and weapon and 1 armour seducer or magnus
Monster sets, in my view, are no use for a healer, Engine is pointless as it's only useful 33% of the time, you don't need health as a healer, stamina is rather pointless too, and if you're half decent with resource management then EG is a waste.
Bogroll the nightflame is too small and too ineffective.
You could use Nerienth set if you want to add some dps, I've used it on groups with less dps and it helps out a bit..
My ideal would be spell power cure or twilight remedy but haven't got a full set yet..

The only place where I could see Bogdan being usefull would be when you are solo healing fights where a stacked group takes continous damage. Then a proc would allow you to interrupt your healing to apply buffs. But since I can apply buffs inbetween my healing springs without the group dieing, I personally don't need Bogdan and prefer using Torugs + Kena instead.

As many have stated, proc rate is low and small radius.

I use it on pledges just because I like it's visual and sound FXs.

It adds a little % of your total heals with stationary tanks.

This set was buffed last patch but they should buff it more.

The Bogdan shard procs surprisingly often if you use lots of heals (BoL, healing springs, combat prayer etc) and it drops on a random group member with a surprisingly large distance. Have used it and had it drop on someone from the opposite end of the DSA arena, it's useful in trials since everyone tends to stack and having it drop is an extra heal for free.

However, it's only really beneficial over other builds if you're running dailies or pug raids since overhealing is normally the play of the day.

Yeh, you don't even need a monster set for healing

    5 Kags/julianos and 3arch mage/4Magnus along with 3 willpower is a great setup.

The IC one (overwhelming surge maybe?) that gives people at full health additional spell/weapon damage when healed is nice too.

the crux with this set is:

since the procc chance is so effing low, you have to spam a lot of overheal to just procc it once. and this leads to the procc being overheal (useless) too.

@ZOS_GinaBruno we just lol @ this set.

    i run 1neri, 1kena, 5spc, 3wp + msa resto+destro.
if there would be an undaunted set for healers, it had to be worth dropping the additional SD+HP kena and neri offers.

oh, and when i pug and see the healer wearing this set, i switch to my msa setup... you never know...

    edit:

tested it in ICP and it procced total of three times during the full run.
just in case you dont know how useless this set is

You'll be better running 2 Magnus rather than Nightflame if you're gonna heal with MSA resto\destro.

Otherwise 1 kena and 2 torug's (shoulders+destro\resto), 5 Spell Power Cure and 3 Willpower does the job.

    +1

    A good summary

I guess the devs were so overly concerned to keep healing from Monster sets performing less than DPS Monster sets, that they forgot to do either a proper Math or a proper testing, to establish the comparable value.

".....and this leads to the procc being overheal (useless) too".

Even increasing the proc chance to 10% would imo not really improve this set in practical value.

Perhaps a redesign would be better.

lol my old trial guild used to require me to slot Remembrance and Nova, or Barrier ...over Warhorn. When the dps on the group is too low, or raidleader doesn't know a healers job, funny things happen :p

@NiclasFridholm it's actually not a garbage advice, it's a pretty decent set for pvp, and for pve it is viable. The better alternative is Molag Kena, but not everyone is lucky to have bought it or farm it yet.

So unless they choose not to wear any monster sets, Engine Guardian is the preferred choice.

I still think your recources management shouldnt be based on RNG when healing, but I still see your points. In My book 1 Kena 5 SPC and 5 Worm is the best combo by far atm!

Any set that gives heals on an RNG basis is literally leaving the lives of your group members to the toss of a coin.....

Its extremely poor design, any healer worth their salt will want control over the healing so will build to be able to keep people alive without it...

..>so if you're making a build where you don't need Bogdan, then whats the point?

I use spell power cure (need a better trait on shoes have reinforced atm) diff best set for healers. Mostly use it in trials and some 4 man dungeons depending on group. If good group I don't have to heal as often I use julianos cause I dps and basically off heal. For boss set I like valkyn cause if I'm healing it can be proceed from heavy restore staff which is what I'm doing and from shards I also use structure entropy on main bar to boost magic and health since it's a dot I apply it as well. And if I'm dpsing Skoria procs from sweeps. But it depends on play style. If yo wanna be straight up healer. Spc 5 pc 1 kena 2 torugs (1 armor piece and weapon) and you should be gtg

Hel Ra hard mode on gargoyle stacking phase - this set makes that part a little better, but realistically if a healer is good enough to heal HM trials, a monster set will not make any significant difference to the build imo.
Skye Cloude - Sorc DPS, Master Crafter. Main, the bestest
Lae Lenne - Templar Healer Trial grade.
Dromede - Stamina Nightblade, she's a newb and doesn't know what she's doing
V'oghatta - Stamplar pretending to be a tank
Ulville Thonvella - aspiring Fire Mage, be careful around her fire sticks!
Dromedaris - lost and not found. Named after a shoe, what else can you expect from her? A proper tank in her wildest dreams
Swims-Naked - too pretty to grind, too silly to quest.
Sun Flair - Dunmer Templar that can't spell for life. To bad she's too broke to afford a name change... Well, at least she's pretty...

Here's mine that I was going to copy paste to the thread anyways, but yea, the set us underwhelming. I would much rather have either stronger heals or better recovery than an rng set.

It is stationary and has a small radius, so it does not work with reactive movement like say... moving away from bogdans fire rain. I find this ironic. The only benifit over nearly any other set would be if your group is stationary and standing on top of each other. And if you are using enough heals to proc it at a reasonably reliable rate, you are likely already overhealing, so it wont proc anyways.
