Yes, it WILL be a crown store thing. They have to pay their staff to code the feature after all, and show enough of a profit from it for the suits to keep ESO going. ZOS is a business after all and not a charity - if it doesn't promise profit, it won't get done.You guys do realize this will most likely be a crown store thing like SWTOR right? Oh, sure, I do hope that they might feel generous and at least have -some- changes with a mere gold cost. Everyday stuff like getting a haircut or changing makeup/warpaint/adornments...
But the rest, I'd happily spend my crowns on! Come on ZOS... let me adjust some small details on my characters and make them -just right-...

They been working on Cyrodiil PvP game performance now for two years and nothing has been fixed. As a matter of fact it has just got worse.
The Barber Shop for one year and they are still working on it.
Audio Issues with the new dlc and 64bit client but they are working on it.
Seems ZOS's says they are "Working On It" a lot with no results.
My bet is a year from now they will still be saying "We are Working On It".0 -

What I meant was... coding that sort of feature takes programmer time.
Programmers usually prefer to be paid, because they too have bills to pay.
If they worked for free, it would be charity on their part.
if the suits in charge paid their programmers without aiming to make some profit from the customers, that'd be charity on -their- part.
Both are not likely to happen, since people have to earn money.

Now, if the game has sustained the subscription model... then yes, all that would have to have been included in the ongoing subscription payments. Duh. pay your monthly dues, and you can expect to see something for it.
But that ship had sailed and sunk quite a while back...
Now they have to make their main profit from the crown store, since only a few incorrigable ESO fans still subscribe, and the main bulk of the playerbase presumably took advantage of the BoP system to pay once, and then play, play, play.
And thus... expect to see them monetize pretty much everything they are gonna add. Special Mounts? Keep crowns ready. More costumes. Shall out crowns. Barbershop? Crowns.
Way of the world... way of ESO, now.
Me, I would be happy to put my crowns where my forum postings are, if only they game me barbershop...

Yes I have worked for free in 120 degree weather more than once but my work histroy isnt the point. Sorry to burst your bubble but most people only buy crowns for the DLC's or they sub and use the free crowns. The store is for "extra" income. According to your always right mind, adding any new features to the game would result in everyone working for free. If this was or becomes the case you and people alike will be the only ones left.....wayshrine chatroomers. Cosmetics rather than actual fun rewarding content is all it will be. Youre right though it is heading in that direction with the awesome new trial loot, which is NO loot.
If a new or returning player sees a barbershop is behind a pay wall....its not very attractive. If its free in game, this and future features will attract players. Im sorry but pay walls dont attract anyone. I would think someone was paying attention when they put an entire race behind a pay wall at launch, which caused a massive amount of bad reviews right off the rip.
I dont want this added because it takes away from more important matters. If they do add it I would hope its to the base game and allow us to earn styles and looks in game like the dye system. Unfortunately people like you that cant wait to throw crowns on it rather than earn it will most likely ruin this idea.0 -
