No, to me the actual weapon's dyes are very stylish.

Yes. But why is this poll only about woodworking? Blacksmithed weapons should be dyeable too.

I'd like all weapons to be dyable.

I know it matches the materials they're made from but some of the unrealistic colours of weapons bother me and I'd like to change them.

It would also be nice to add 'personal' touches to weapons I've crafted myself for my own characters, like a grip in their favourite colour.

People have been wanting the ability to dye weapons for a long time. However, Zenimax stated this will not be doable. I suppose people can hope though ;)

i want all items able to be dyed.
I also want the bind on dye lifted so you can later sell or trade dyed equipment with the understanding the dye jobs vanish on transfer so there are no conflicts if the other side doesn't have the appropriate dyes.

Dye is the definition of a cosmetic change for nothing more than fun. it should not incur a practical negative impact such as blocking sales/transfers once you go forward.

Dyes are obtained via achievement, hence binding them upon dyeing. I suppose your idea might work out but then why dye it in the first place?

I assume there would be 3 slots as there are for armor. For one slot it would be like changing out what gem is mounted (say, emerald swapped for ruby or onyx), another slot might paint/color the main area (i.e. the shaft on a staff). The third would be any contrasting bits (rivets, bands, etc.)

For metal, I am more tempted to say we should be able to blue them rather than just dye them. Blueing comes in a few different colors but not the dozens we get with dyes. Here is a range of colors one can get by heat bluing ferrous metals. Also, there is a black oxide that can be done, so black is a viable option. And don't forget brushed and bright polished silver.

    Tempering_standards_used_in_blacksmithing.JPG

NOTE: The colors above are all from heat, NOT dyes, paint, or chemicals. All occur normally in actual metal work.

Zos just add weapon dyes already. Just add them with the DB update it's just 3 color scheme you did it with armor then shields so why are weapons so hard to do ?

I'm sure between magical properties, the use of different metals (haven't used steel since like level 24), and the "screw it" factor, we could justify a full range of dyes for weapons. I mean, we have dyes for armor that are removable, reusable, and which never scratch or fade no matter how many times you jump in the ocean. I think letting us dye weapons would be just fine.

Nope, I like the color of natural wood. Not a fan of people with hot pink battle axes running around

An alternative would be to let the natural color of the wood change depending on the material used to make it. Birch would be a lighter color, ebony darker, etc

Well if they where going to let us Dye, weapons I imagine thats exactly the sort of "dying" it would be. IE the purple of voidstone to the red of rubidite etc

I didn't vote because there was not a "make all weapons dyeable" choice and I care about woodworking the least (my sorcerer's colourful staff is kind of annoying but it just isn't as bad as metal weapons).

Red swords are NOT realistic. Please let us make them silver. Or just change them all to silver.
