I'm so disappointed. Had to work through most of the promotion, have today off, and... No cake time. VR12 forever.

That said--any tips on how the hell to grind VR levels quickly without cake? Tired of having only one veteran and not even being able to get to the top of that heap.

Hey guys, apologies for the delay. Today, we ran into some technical issues during our PC NA maintenance window, which we are still working to resolve. We’re currently planning to bring the server back up within the next hour or so. If that changes, we’ll be sure to let you know. We understand that this also impacts the final day for our Anniversary Event, but because we have already extended the event by two days, we do not plan to extend it an additional time.

We apologize for the inconvenience this has caused, and appreciate your patience while we continue maintenance. There will still be a patch today that will include some bug fixes, and those patch notes will be published very soon.

@ZOS_GinaBruno But you didn't extend it 2 days you extended 1 day since the server has been DOWN for a day.

Don't be mean to Gina. It's not her fault.

    [minor edit for quote]

No it is her fault. She can say "Hey guys we really *** up again, like 10,000 times and should try and make our player base happy because without them we are all looking for new jobs."

Well,..after taking a look through the forums,..its off to Morrowind for me. I'm still working on a mod for it.

Yayyy! The lag fix! This is worth waiting for. So we don't have to wait in-game anymore between jerky bursts of action or live two seconds in the past so we don't realize we already died because something we didn't see killed us. I just plain get mad when I get hit with an area attack even though I was wayyyy clear of the red before I saw it go off.

    Huh?

But that's actually quite wrong on many levels. This is going to sound like brown nosing, but it's unavoidable. Despite the fact that 90% of the people on these pages do nothing but nerdrage at her, as if she has any control over the situation. She's not the one calling the shots, you know. She's the one has the pleasure of dealing with all of us nerds when we're uptight about a video game. I'm not criticizing you guys, I'm just as big of a nerd and I rage just as much. But it's still not her fault.

It's also worth noting that she's not actually responsible for maintenance, class balance, DLCs, etc. She is public relations... as in, "keeping everyone cool." Why? Because nerds like us tend to get out of hand when we can't play our games.

Wait.....ARE YOU KIDDING ME???? You guys extended the cake in the first place because you screwed up its implementation. Now you've pretty much taken away an entire day of that "extra" time because you screwed up patch implementation. But you feel ZERO responsibility to make that right with players? What wizard is running the show there Gina??? Is it actually company policy now to deliberately alienate your customers? Yeah, I'm actually very upset by this cavalier attitude. So, the server is up. I log on. I have 10 FPS. I Alt-tab out completely and Alt-tab back in. I have 60 FPS. I have been doing this for the past week and it works very consistently, ie almost always. The random FPS drops are less frequent, and this technique usually works. Not good for PvP, except the drops are not really random; they usually follow a port or zone change.

Does this ring a bell for anyone who actually knows what they're talking about? Could it possibly be me or Windows 10, rather than ESO-TU.

This thread may be dead, so it's the wrong place to put it; but Ms Bruno just might stop by one last time.

You extended it because you screwed it up the first time. So, there is a limit to what you will correct, wish there was a limit to what you screw up. However, it is ironic that you gave a broken anniversary gift after two years of a broken game, so there is that.

I have to say, to all those who are like, "wow you guys are entitled." I have to say from a business perspective this makes zero sense. This was essentially zos one saying thank you to players, but also a chance to showcase the game, draw players in. So from that standpoint they NEED to get everything right. Which they most certainly didn't the first two days. So they say hey we really messed up let's make it up to you. We get two extra days. Except the last day is literally taken up by maintenance all day. I'll give them that it may not have been unavoidable. That's fine, but come to us and say "we are really sorry that took so long, we'll have the cake last until tomorrow." It is important for the health of the game and to bring in more money for the company to make sure that when you have events like this that showcase the game the go off without a hitch.

This would require ZOS to have a clue about Customer Service and Support, which they so obviously don't have.

This has all been a Community Relations nightmare, and that falls squarely within Gina's baliwick.

It's certainly not okay to shoot the messenger, but could you maybe relay to those responsible for the bolded portion that this is... erhrm... somewhat of a ripoff?

I get that you can't just extend stuff like that on a whim. But I'd like to point out that this is the first real event that has occurred to-date in ESO, and it was botched twice. The bottom line is that the players are suffering for ZOS's mistakes here. Believe me, I'm not trying to make this personal or act like sometimes you don't find a wrench in the gears, but it is bad practice to leave the cost to the customer.

Rip off? Cost? You didn't pay for the anniversary event. It was free. We had a good run, move on.

Except it wasn't free. Just read my last post (#77)

Oh yeah, and for the record, my game has been complete sh*# since TG went live. Half my guild can't even do a full dungeon or trial without a crash. One of my guildies can't even log in. How exactly are we to enjoy the cake?

If you're talking about subscribing, you purchased that product of your own volition. Nothing in the product states that you are entitled to a double xp anniversary event. You didn't pay for the game to grow, you paid for a product they put out, and you chose to do that. You're basically saying you're more entitled to the double experience than people who don't subscribe.

TL;DR You did not pay for it.

Don't be mean to Gina. It's not her fault.
It is her fault, in a way. Not her fault personally, but she is the representative of ZOS. She's the one representing ZOS and speaking their decisions. I know she's only speaks out what her superiors say. But her job is to represent ZOS, and through her we communicate with the company. That includes sending angry rants like this and mentioning her - so she tells her superiors what's going on.
Nothing personal, just business. And stop being white knights - she's getting paid for it.
I wish I could get paid every time I'm frustrated with the game or customer service that's ignoring my ticket for more than a week now.

Alright, I'm not against what you've just said, but let's dig in a little bit into it and expand it, shall we?
also a chance to showcase the game
And what do they showcase? A broken feature that has been added and wasted player's crown pots. Hooray!
    We get two extra days
Now let's be careful about terms here. An extra usually means that we get something more than should've been given. They've messed up two days, they added two days. Not more, not less. This is called compensation, not extra. So, right now them saying "that was enough" means we do not get compensation for wasted time. Totally.
I'll give them that it may not have been unavoidable.
Many people don't understand how it works, so let me elaborate this part. In any more or less serious game studio, (or any kind of game developers, I've seen gaming communities taking better care of it), there are at least two separate game servers: Development and Production. Development corresponds to what game developers should play with before rolling their updates onto Production server. That's also where testers should do at least basic test. You're telling me that they could not avoid screwing this up by running 30 seconds test to verify if all buffs stack, as they actually promised and announced?
Let's assume they did those tests, but for some reason it did not work. And you know what? This happens almost every single time. And that's their fault for not making Production and Development servers close enough so there wouldn't be significant difference in behavior.

Now let's talk about public image of ZOS in this situation:
It costs them literally and absolutely nothing to add one extra day. It will leave absolutely no impact on game balance, nor will it cost them additional money as the actual hype about cakes only brings more players in - and motivates them to buy exp pots in Crown Store.
So what do they do to save their public image a little, with already screwed up "event" that was intended to celebrate anniversary of their game with players? Do they add one more day - that costs to their business absolutely nothing, has no significant impact on the game world, just to show that they do care about players?

No, they say literally this: "enough for you, wretches; you don't deserve it anyway, why should we bother anyway, those two days was more than enough".

That's all you need to know about ZOS and their public image, folks.

This is not an appropriate extrapolation of what I said. You've taken this out of context. In no way did I say that subscribers are more entitled to the anniversary event than those who do not subscribe. Either you misunderstood what I was saying, or you are intentionally griefing with this.

When I preordered this game two years ago, they had been making promises of seasonal events, and other celebratory events, such as the cake anniversary. It is a prime example of what was promised and what was reasonably expected as a customer. It has nothing to do with subscriptions. I don't know why we're still debating this; apparently the fact that in-game events, such as the anniversary cake, were expected from day 1 is a surprise?

TL;DR - It is exactly what I paid for. It was one of the primary considerations for playing this game to begin with.

Try switching between full screen and windowed mode.
Win10 has issues with this on my nvidia.
