The extension (2 days) was not because of our blunder, and yet we have lost another day because of yet another blunder. The time should stop when the servers are down PERIOD!

no they clearly said "not" extending cake time. since they "extended" it for 2 days, and by the time the server is up. I doubt the cake will have the same effect

If you want additional exp, then renew your subscriptions! Subscribers now get a whopping 400% increased experience gain.

On an unrelated note, subscription fees are now $50 / month or $750 annually.

I get that you can't just extend stuff like that on a whim. But I'd like to point out that this is the first real event that has occurred to-date in ESO, and it was botched twice. The bottom line is that the players are suffering for ZOS's mistakes here. Believe me, I'm not trying to make this personal or act like sometimes you don't find a wrench in the gears, but it is bad practice to leave the cost to the customer.

My question is,how is it a ripoff when it wasnt in the game when you bought it,nor was it something announced as a permanent thing. Just a small fun perk for their anniversary. I'd love it if we had more time with it,but it will be gone today.
Personally.I am thankful that they decided to give us something at all for the anniversary.It could have came and went without issue,but they were being nice and giving us a bit of extra for a few days.

(I just took a bit of time off working on my mod,to come here and also to search for a mod for MW that has lots of housing items,etc.)

You extended it by two days because you screwed the pooch when you released the Cake. Actually, you only extended it by one day because you screwed the pooch trying to patch your own game.

I'm going to stop now, because if I don't I'm going to say some very rude things about some very rude people.

You're taking my response a bit too seriously. If you couldn't tell from the tone, it was a passing thought. You can replace the term "ripoff' with whatever you feel is appropriate.

But since you brought it up, it's been over 2 years now since this game launched, and this was the first actual event they've ever had. They botched it on day 1. They extended it by 2 days to make up for that. They botched it on the last day. There was no recompense for that.

And before you continue on with the "well you never paid for it" card, as a matter of fact, I have. I have been paying for this experience every month for two years now. Back when I originally preordered this game, they made promises of events and new content every 6-8 weeks. Granted, that was under a different business model (subscription based), but that really doesn't void the principle behind the concept. With our without a subscription, these events could (and should) have occurred, even if they had to adjust their timeframe for delivery a bit. We could have seen seasonal events at the very least.

P.S. I'm salty because there was no anniversary last year, and I get cranky when I miss out on cake. Which is ironic, considering we celebrated someone's birthday today in the office, and I passed on cake.

I haven't eaten a single piece of cake for this event (the toons I play are all max and am at CP cap) so I don't have a dog in the fight.

I have to say I am disappointed in ZoS's position that because they previously extended a timeline to compensate for it's own mistake (that cost some players resources) that somehow that absolves them from further mistakes on their part. Is there really any harm that could come by extending the cake thing an extra day?

It is my understand it was extended because of a screw up that was not letting players get the full xp bonus from stacking with xp scrolls or ambrosia, so essentially you did not give players an extra two days. I'm not exactly sure, because I could not take advantage of the beginning of the event because I also have a real life.

it states that "You and anyone in your group will be able to enjoy the cake and receive a 100% XP buff. This buff stacks with all other XP buffs!"

SO as I said, you did not extend the event for our benefit as players were not able to experience the full effect of the event. Either way you have taken the last day of the event away from all players because of maintenance, so it seems that you gave us something then took it away?

Yayyy! The lag fix! This is worth waiting for. So we don't have to wait in-game anymore between jerky bursts of action or live two seconds in the past so we don't realize we already died because something we didn't see killed us. Oh yeah, and for the record, my game has been complete sh*# since TG went live. Half my guild can't even do a full dungeon or trial without a crash. One of my guildies can't even log in. How exactly are we to enjoy the cake?
