Is this another one of those, "I don't care for this DLC as it does not fit my playstyle and everyone who does like it is stupid and wrong," type of threads?

Yeah... Except it wasn't worded half as eloquently. He pretty much made vague remarks about "it sucks because it sucks" and now he's arguing with everyone that likes it because it fits their playstyle.

OP, I personally like it too. So much of everything else in ESO was so heavily wrapped around combat, it's nice they added some DLC that made good use of non-combat, but still somewhat challenging and strategy oriented, content.

Given the genre of game that ESO is, I think they managed to implement it pretty well.

It's just not for everyone I guess, but I don't think calling "poo" (really?) is in the slightest way rational either.

Yeah it's just preference really. The only DLC I have really liked so far is Orsinium. I thought IC was absolutely horrible though some like it, and TG was just small and underwhelming.

Even nightblades have to use gear that makes them more effective at sneaking. Try equipping a 5 set of crafted medium gear (for the sneaking passive) and a 5set of Night Mother. I am very confident you will do just fine afterwards.

    I partially agree with OP.

Zos took what is probably the second most lore rich gaming related franchise and the third largest gaming related ip and does not seem to even try to live up to the richness of the game.

With that, the trial was, and is, the crown jewel of TG dlc. The actual TG part is fluff. As for "buffing" magika and the rest of the changes to the base game, that will never have to do with the content added in a dlc as it is the base game.

I'm actually liking the Orsinium DLC quite a bit too. I was scared to buy it because the Orcish voice acting doesn't mesh well with what I've come to imagine what an Orc would sound like - I think WoW is to blame for that.

I like the area though. Very similar to other zones with just enough added nuance to keep it just different enough that I don't feel like I'm playing through a zone I've already played through.

It also feels a bit more "jump puzzle-y". Keeps things interesting... At least for this play through.

I'm really enjoying it. Not completed the story yet but so far the characters and quests have all been very enjoyable. The new zone looks great. I also like being sent all over the map for the dailies which is a nice little time sink. I've not encountered any problems other than those with the 64-bit client but even then that is a base patch issue not the dlc.

ok first of all, this is new content, give it time. Personally I love it, and hey dont equate poor content to girls, some of us who play are female, and we are just as good as our male counterparts at gaming.

I really enjoyed the story and if you do Kari's Hit List you will only have to do 3-4 repeatables since you'll get near 3 ranks from turning in the Hit List items.

The trial added with the update is without a shadow of a doubt the best designed group content they have made so far and I love that it has a normal and veteran mode so I can run it with my not-so-serious pve guild and my super-serious pve guild. All the fights have really good mechanics and there's none of the RNG bullsh*t we encountered with Sanctum Ophidia. The new trial sets are also pretty good (perhaps with the exception of the tank set), which is a new for ESO :p the other trials had pretty terrible sets that weren't worth farming for, plus it has a ton of Hardmode achievements like No Death and other such things, so there's a lot of repeatable content there for sure.

The reason why they were buffing magicka has to do with balance, they still haven't found it yet, but it is good progress. Magicka Dragonknight went from being horrible to being good again, as well as the enormous boost to stamina dk builds and magicka templar.

The only problem I have with the Thieves' Guild update is that the performance was completely ruined. There is now memory leaks in a lot of places, like vDSA and vICP to name a few.
If they hadn't broken the game and reintroduced a lot of crazy glitches, like the goblin port or chat bug (these have been fixed), as well as the performance issues, then it would probably be my favourite expansion that they have done.

Personally, I absolutely love this DLC's story. The characters are great and I adore their personal stories and quests. Velsa and Walks-Softly alone made the DLC worthwhile for me. And I'm not even the sort of person who normally plays thief characters!

However, the requirement of TG rank to unlock the story quests is pretty sour. It worked for Fighters Guild and Mages Guild in the base game because you have an entire zone between the quests to level up those skill lines. If you were doing all the dolmens and picking up most of the lore books as you go along, you wouldn't even notice it. For a long time I didn't even know about it! But with the Thieves Guild you can do them all at once and the stories make you want to do them all at once. Having to absolutely halt the storyline to do 5 or 6 repeatable quests just ruins the continuity and flow of the storyline.

All that being said, once I did get to the quests I loved them. ZOS's writers make some fantastic characters. I thought they'd outdone themselves with Drake of Blades, but Velsa hit me right in the feels. (Her story was also eerily similar to the story of one of my RP characters so I do have some bias there.)

Are you kidding me? Firstly, this is by far the worst story telling of the three Elder Scrolls games I've played.
Skyrim's Thieves Guild had more plot holes than plot, didn't involve any stealing and was actually a poorly disguised Daedric questline. Don't talk to me about bad writing.

take this as a friendly suggestion....NEVER buy DLC without trying it first. Use ESO plus to test it out....if you dont like it, use the crowns elsewhere.

By subscribing you lose about 4000 crowns per year for the same amount. Normally subscribing is a good thing but in this game it's entirely unnecessary.

I have enjoyed it but would have loved to see a lot more content, hey who doesn't like more content? I also would love the trial to be less laggy.
I went outside once, the graphics were awesome but the gameplay sucked
