However, the requirement of TG rank to unlock the story quests is pretty sour. It worked for Fighters Guild and Mages Guild in the base game because you have an entire zone between the quests to level up those skill lines. If you were doing all the dolmens and picking up most of the lore books as you go along, you wouldn't even notice it. For a long time I didn't even know about it! But with the Thieves Guild you can do them all at once and the stories make you want to do them all at once. Having to absolutely halt the storyline to do 5 or 6 repeatable quests just ruins the continuity and flow of the storyline.
All that being said, once I did get to the quests I loved them. ZOS's writers make some fantastic characters. I thought they'd outdone themselves with Drake of Blades, but Velsa hit me right in the feels. (Her story was also eerily similar to the story of one of my RP characters so I do have some bias there.)

So, I went and got my skyshards, did the bosses and crap, tried to do a little of the quest line, but I couldn't get very far because it is super not fun for me.
I totally get that other people are loving it. Good. It just is not for me at all lol.
To be frank, I prefer ZOS's writing over SOME of Bethesda's. ZOS seem to like both playing off stereotypes AND breaking them. Which I think fits the Elder Scrolls world far more than some of Bethesda's more recent writing. Skyrim, every single Khajiit is a bandit, trader, thief or some combination of the three. ZOS add variety, spice, and just the right amount of humor to their characters and stories to tickle my fancy. Not all of their stories are great, in fact I think a lot of their stories have been pretty bland or just plain fell flat. But every now and again we get something like the Thieves Guild that remind me of just how great they can make their characters if they put the time, effort, and care into them.HighT3chR3dn3ck wrote: »DerAlleinTiger wrote: »Personally, I absolutely love this DLC's story. Are you kidding me? Firstly, this is by far the worst story telling of the three Elder Scrolls games I've played. Now, you being to compare it to some other games and well... most story franchise writing has gone to poo too.
I can barely make it through ANYWHERE in the DLC without it lagging. How the F!!! are you going to have lag in a PvE zone!!!

There is only 6 main quest in this dlc..
Partners in Crime
Cleaning House
The Long Game
A Flawless Plan
Forever Hold Your Peace
Prison Break
and several tiny small straight forward side quest in between....you never get to steal anything meaningful in this entire dlc.. you don't need beggar or other informant to provide you with information on your heist.. there is no roleplay in repeatable job.. no target just random stealing..... skill line is all lame and mostly useless.. your personally assistant constantly desire to rob you..
all this...along with many bugs.. like deadhollow heist.. which is impossible to complete unless the system bugged and didn't detect you while you are in the circle.

Plenty of repeatable content, and fun ways to make gold.
Interesting quests and mechanics
Sub-par but still interesting and useful skill line (I wish it had active skills and skills useful for other content)
Interesting although small area, fun world bosses, awesome delve, and another decent delve
Encourages small group play in an organic manner while still allowing for good solo play.

This would be my biggest complaint concerning Hew's Bane's quest design:HighT3chR3dn3ck wrote: »Oh yeah I also forget to mention the load screens in Hew's Bane... CONSTANT, and since I'm almost always carrying a bounty thanks to your stupid new questing system, I often load in dead.
