Remember, ppl telling you their DPS is not entirely accurate, they always say higher than they get

I usually offheal or take over the healing at some bosses, if the healer struggles at pressing the healing button. With ~850 regen I run out of magicka when I heal, and I have to make restoration staff pokes to regain some magicka x_x
In other cases I slot warhorn and 23432 buff skills, because people insist that I do that, despite me being a DD in group ....they're used to me being a healer, so they don't accept not getting buffed in a dungeon when the actual healer is someone else.
<< is pretty annoying, and the healer often gets completely ignored and confused. I usually whisper them and explain that my friends are trying to be jerks, but that they are just brainlagging and are slow at understanding things.
I didn't think that would go on a number based group frequency table.ulrik.igerupb16_ESO wrote: »Where's the "Don't know/don't care, as long as boss healthbar goes down I'm doing fine" option?

I find it hard to believe that those putting their damage at 15k and over are taking into account the dps across the whole fight. I mean sure, in the execute phase you get 20-30k easily, but what about the first 75% of the boss' health? What about dodging the boss' attacks; avoiding (or burning) the adds; sitting there helpless while the boss uses a stunning/trapping attack? All that costs time, which obviously lowers damage per second. So picture or it didn't happen!

The whole DPS race is kind of ruining this game tbh. Sure, if you do 5k dps as a DD in a veteran dungeon you aren't of much use to your group. But the elitists are bringing this game down. Sure, 25k+ dps is awesome, but the game isn't balanced around 25k+ dps.
I enjoy competing and improving on my DPS with my mates, but more so by improving my skills and ability to play rather than by simply going for a must have I-WIN-BUTTON.
Maybe it's a fault of the developers for not adequately balancing the skills, but for me my DPS and usefullness have improved by simply honing my own skills and learning my character.
I know this is not a popular opinion but I think the whole concept of meta builds is ***. And I know, people say they want to be best, min max and be the most opimal bla bla. But FACT is that meta builds offer overpowered/unbalanced performance with less effort - meaning that people who only play meta builds by definition only want to play overpowered builds.
Don't get me wrong, this is fine. There has always been cookie cutter builds and flavor of the months in more or less all MMOs. But don't go about flexing your über dps muscles when you as a player has less to do with your DPS than your build.
But maybe I'm just more focused on enjoying my character than dps seeing as I've more or less only changed two abilities on my build in the last year.
Maybe it means my build was proto-meta, huehue.

This is where you are wrong, if people don't know their build and rotation they can use a cookie cutter build all they want and won't get a dps above 10-15k.
