But in SWTOR, I know that if you leave a GF group, you're locked out of GF for fifteen minutes. Does ESO not have something similar to at least encourage people to give the group a try or to restrict how much griefing griefers can do?

@MasterSpatula, I am just coming back into the game too! You used to be in my trading guild!!!

I have a question, if this happens, do you lose out on the ability to get the bonus EXP for doing a dungeon? I mean if you go an find another person or random group?

We got white gold tower as the random, friend was healer I am dps, both labelled correctly. We got a group, guy who was playing the tank role by his tag, looked to be in all medium armour, we thought we'd give it a chance as I've tanked I'm medium before, though I wouldn't for wgt. Get to first set of mobs and were all standing there looking at then, said to "tank" you gonna aggro them then?, he polls out a bow, goes into sneak and sits there. This was the point we left at.

Here's the thing tho, every time this happened, it's cause the damn group leader queued us without discussing it first. Then my armor is messed up, I need to feed, get food/potions, my bags are full, or real life stuff prevents me from being able to do a dungeon cause I can't give it my full attention.
Latest occurrence: I told the guy to do the group events in public dungeons cause it's 5 easy skill points, and he was tired of running after shards. Then he goes and queues us cause he doesn't know the diffs between a group and a public dungeon lol
If we're going to penalize people for leaving we damn sure better given them the option to que for;
-vr16 level requirement
-completed "hard mode"
-completed speed run
-completed no death run
you do that and I'll agree to this type of system.

How 'bout no. You queue for PUG, you run with PUGs. You went elite? Group with guildies or shout out LFGs for players who can guarantee you your quick, perfect runs.

that's fine, if there is no penalty for leaving. I'll help new to an extent but trying to penalize me for running tankwithbowiplayhowiwant that's slotted for all three roles is laughable.

How do you tank with a bow?
I understand the taunt part but just curious....I think I can learn something. Please share cause I often associate the skills under the sword and shield skill line, heavy armor and undaunted as tank types (excluding class skills).
No sarcasm intended...honest question

my point exactly, there are players our there that are simply that "new".
@MasterSpatula
Why would we keep it being a risk though? what possible reason would we have for saying "well it can be better but let me shoot myself in the foot because yes".

Hmmm, as far as tenure within the game, I think many would agree that I'm not new.
Maybe I miss-read the comments but I have to ask....it is sarcasm or can you share how to effectively tank with a bow?

I have unintentionally tanked with a bow actually, sometimes I do so much damage I out-aggro the tank or the tank just doesn't taunt. The dungeon boss then comes after me, I dodge roll which gives me a 30% movement speed boost and kite away while continuing to blast it with Focused Aim, Light attacks for Hawkeye buff, and Poison Arrow for a dot as it chases me in circles around the boss room. I take little damage as I'm quite mobile with high stamina recovery, I try to keep my path predictable in hopes the tank gets in range to taunt or give the other DPS if melee, some hits in.

Queueing for PUG is a risk. Not every risk pays off.

It's not sarcasm; he just worded it very poorly. He was deriding those who try to tank with a bow. I think (though the phrasing is very unclear) he's not saying he runs a bow-using tank but that he runs away when he sees that.
@Humatiel, PUGging is inherently a risk. There's a reward for using random GF. That's the reward for the risk of joining a pickup group. If you don't care about the reward, why are you even queueing for random dungeons? So yeah, if there's going to be a reward, there's going to be a risk. And there should be consequences for quitting.
Not saying you can't or shouldn't quit. I've been in groups with 1 to 3 imbeciles in this and other games many, many times. I almost always try to suffer through it. But if it's really terrible, I will eventually bail. If that means I can't queue for fifteen minutes, an hour, or even a day, well, I played the PUG game and I lost. I take my consequences.
