PVP is going to take time to work out. Contrary to people here the lag has gotten better. 300-400ms latency to me is still unplayable. So if people are expecting a quick fix then thats going to be disappointing for them. I play with a lot of people out in cyrodill I never see 999+ latency. Personally I think its just a display error. If your latency really was that high then you would see nothing on the screen. Everything would just freeze and the game would log you out thinking you were disconnected.

Just curious what your time scale is

Maybe try the rest of the game? This is an ongoing thing. If you thought this was some kind of single player game you were mistaken. If you go to all other games latency is always an issue in PVP. There is more to the game than PVP tho.

We aren't totally decided yet, we plan to play all 3 during beta to test out all the classes but whatever we roll at launch is really going to come down to realm pops. We've played the most populated faction twice now in this game and even rerolled over it once, that *** is not fun lol.
I'm probably not going to play in the first iteration of beta as, from what i read, they're mostly wanting to test the mechanical aspects of the game and not anything to do with the game itself (unless i can't read which is probably likely) but i will say that we (or rather i) would like to be allies this time around and not frienemies.

Some people don't care for PvE or have done everything and don't want the mindless repetativeness that is pve content...it's fun when you complete it the first time, decent the second time, but by the time you get to the third repeat, it becomes boring and not even challenging...
Then take a break for a bit play something else?
Not the solution bro....we want this game to do well...we really do...i don't think we would be here complaining that the game is broken or not functioning as advertised if we didn't care. I have in fact been playing another game on the side when i don't feel like playing this game, but that shouldn't be what i have to do. I really do like this game as I'm a huge fan of elder scrolls games...i enjoyed the story but my main focus is, and has been, pvp...going to play another game isn't what will fix this one...though it's apparently too little too late at this point as a lot of us are going to CU whenever beta is launched so there ya go...you can go back to white knighting zos while the rest of us aren't putting up with it anymore

I'm wondering if you even pvp or have stepped foot into cyrodill...so you're saying being snared/rooted all the time, keep fights lasting for hours, nightblades pulling off one shots aoes with proxy soul tether VD alchemist combo, base movement speed nerfed, radiant destruction being spammed by every templar, forward camps enabling never ending fights is healthy? If you do then you're delusional.

Your problem is you think the game is only Cyrodill. The game itself financially is doing well. Thats what I meant.
Still waiting for you to tell me that everything I listed is healthy for cyrodiil
Why would I say that when it isnt. You said "The game isnt healthy" meaning you think its going to do down financially unless they fix it. I said the game is doing well financially so dont worry. Somehow you took that to mean I think cyrodill is healthy. Cyrodill obviously is not healthy. You also claimed a bunch of people are leaving and unless you tell ZOS on the forms they wont know about it. They know whos leaving and whos coming in.
All we can do is be patient and see what happens. Yes its been screwy since launch for a lot of people. Using hyperbole and making these wild claims with no facts doesnt really help anyone. Most likely they listen to logical feedback not fix this now or ill quit for whatever the new mmo is going into beta.

Keep pushing for new players and forgetting about us hardcore. Surely, that'll keep you going for your "7 year plan".
Frozy is one of those hardcore players I see here and it's amusing to see him being such a try hard defender. He of all people should be annoyed at the fail. Come on FroZy-really?Jauriel
Me, unlike most people here, read the whole patch notes and REMEMBER everything Zenimax fixed and everything that made this game better, through the months, no matter the bugs that sometimes came back and the steps behind.
Like I've already said in other threads, World of Warcraft took 3years to fix the warrior charge bug and 5 years to fix the combat bug. Today it is one of the best mmos ever made. This game will see the light, with or without all the arrogant, pessimist and none constructive complainers in these forums threatening to leave to other games.
Some of the best players this game has ever seen have done more than threaten. They've quit. And nearly all cite the latest update as the worst yet! I just wish you would acknowledge this rather than being so dismissive of the valid complaints, the very valid reasons people have to be frustrated and disappointed. Each and every update has been one step forward and 3 steps back for pvp.
The best players ever huh? I guess all of us peons are just chopped liver lol.

The "game" we play is not healthy, aka the "game" that matters to a PVPer (whether it is balance, lag, objectives, or absurd gear sets)
The financial health of this game has no bearing on how much enjoyment I can have until they shutter the servers, but when they direct only the bare minimum development resources to PVP it makes this "game" unhealthy because the players are leaving.

Look he said the game wasnt healthy. If he had said "the pvp in this game is not healthy" I never would have commented on it. Also if you think pve sucks and the whole game sucks why in the heck are you even here? Just amazing people will sit for years and complain about something while paying for it lol. PVP balance is an issue in all games and an ongoing one. So no matter where you go you will never be happy. Then you say because you guys are the "elite" you should be listened to even tho in most cases you guys havent paid them a nickle in years.
Then we have the people who insist IC was not a pvp update even tho IC is in cyrodill. So again wonder why the devs and people on the forums dont take you guys seriously? You have huge egos and think the entire game revolves around what you want. Hate to break it to you but even if you do pay per month which i doubt your money is no better than anyone elses.

@GRxKnight

1.5-2 years long enough?
Just curious what your time scale is
and it does log us out.

Maybe try the rest of the game? This is an ongoing thing. If you thought this was some kind of single player game you were mistaken. If you go to all other games latency is always an issue in PVP. There is more to the game than PVP tho.
The game is doing well. So cheer up
I'm wondering if you even pvp or have stepped foot into cyrodill...so you're saying being snared/rooted all the time, keep fights lasting for hours, nightblades pulling off one shots aoes with proxy soul tether VD alchemist combo, base movement speed nerfed, radiant destruction being spammed by every templar, forward camps enabling never ending fights is healthy? If you do then you're delusional.
Notice i never once mentioned lag, high latency, or people not rendering on screen...that in itself is enough to know something is wrong
You exaggerate a LOT guy. Like I said if this thing is causing you to sit at the KB foaming at mouth ranting then maybe its time to step away. All Im saying.
No I'm not exaggerating...tell me why all of those things are healthy for the game and then I'll believe you that the game is fine...until then congrats on the new position at zos as their forum PR personGhost-Shot wrote: »Ghost-Shot wrote: »Actually frozn has a point...we could be back in the meteor spam meta that was early 1.6 and no skills working lag...i'd say that we still are in the meteor spam meta but the ping compared to the two is better....overall I'd say pvp latency has improved but not in the sense that it's good...lag is rarely an issue, it's more so what combat is like these days with all the snares and the roll of counter siege in this patch...i think that's what people are mostly upset about cause anyone who played in the extinction of dinosaurs patch knows what a contested keep fight felt like with all the meteors being rained down

Do you think we all had this attitude from the start? We didn't. We loved this game. It had so much potential. Had.
Then you wonder why noone listens to you guys.

When there are huge problems in pvp AND pve, i don't need to distinguish what part of the game is unhealthy...you have your zos fanboy goggles on so i understand why you don't see this...
Here's a suggestion though for zos to improve pve content since you want us to be constructive...make pve content unpredictable...make it so that you can't have set mechanics for each fight across all content (trials, vet dungeons, arenas, etc.). If they did that i would find the content challenging as you wouldn't know what the bosses would do (some mechanics can stay the same but overall the fight can be new each day) and might do the vet pledges again...
The reason we don't do pve content now is that there's no challenge in it once you learn the mechanics, the majority of us have cleared all trials (except for the new one), dungeons, and both arenas and don't see a point of running them again as it would be mindless

All we can do is be patient and see what happens. Yes its been screwy since launch for a lot of people. Using hyperbole and making these wild claims with no facts doesnt really help anyone. Most likely they listen to logical feedback not fix this now or ill quit for whatever the new mmo is going into beta.
But the majority like the PVE content like it is. Why would they change it and make all those people mad who enjoy it for a few of the "best" players who wont pay them?

Then you wonder why noone listens to you guys.
No one ever listened to us and that is the problem. That is why the best players have either left, or have one foot out the door.

The location has nothing to do with it, the point is that IC was PVE-focused update where its possible to attack players from different alliances. The main focus in IC is fighting NPCs and doing quests which involves killing more NPCs. The rewards come from killing NPCs (trohpies, Tel Var stones, items etc) You actually dont even get rewarded directly for killing players, you only get an indirect reward (Tel Var stones) if you kill a player who have killed a lot of NPCs.
In Cyrodiil the focus is taking/defending objectives that require players to fight other players. The entire alliance scoring system is constructed to (eventually) reward the alliances players for being successful in holding these objectives.

No I'm not exaggerating...tell me why all of those things are healthy for the game and then I'll believe you that the game is fine...until then congrats on the new position at zos as their forum PR personGhost-Shot wrote: »Ghost-Shot wrote: »Actually frozn has a point...we could be back in the meteor spam meta that was early 1.6 and no skills working lag...i'd say that we still are in the meteor spam meta but the ping compared to the two is better....overall I'd say pvp latency has improved but not in the sense that it's good...lag is rarely an issue, it's more so what combat is like these days with all the snares and the roll of counter siege in this patch...i think that's what people are mostly upset about cause anyone who played in the extinction of dinosaurs patch knows what a contested keep fight felt like with all the meteors being rained down
Also @Ghost-Shot @Satiar which realm are you guys looking at in CU?
@GRxKnight

Maybe try the rest of the game? This is an ongoing thing. If you thought this was some kind of single player game you were mistaken. If you go to all other games latency is always an issue in PVP. There is more to the game than PVP tho.
Some people don't care for PvE or have done everything and don't want the mindless repetativeness that is pve content...it's fun when you complete it the first time, decent the second time, but by the time you get to the third repeat, it becomes boring and not even challenging...
We will be playing the first cycle of betas but we aren't fulling jumping ship from eso until its actually a playable game, at this point we are probably just letting the hype get to us and we're to excited to skip the first betas. @GRxKnight
@Ghost-Shot I'm just hoping that all the hype everyone talking about is actually worth it...i won't give up on this game right now...I'm still hoping that something will happen...but I'm not holding my breath
But the majority like the PVE content like it is. Why would they change it and make all those people mad who enjoy it for a few of the "best" players who wont pay them?
Well clearly they won't because the "game is doing so well" so why change what isn't broken? Oh wait.........
PVE isnt broken. Also if you havent cleared the new trial on vet then you dont really want challenge.
Or i, like many other pvpers, don't care to run trials anymore because what's the point? We don't like it because it's stale, boring, repetitive, and not enjoyable...the reason we pvp is because we like to pvp and there really isn't any other good option right now.
Also when 4 people can clear a trial or you can do it with no gear, pve is broken

Not the solution bro....we want this game to do well...we really do...i don't think we would be here complaining that the game is broken or not functioning as advertised if we didn't care. I have in fact been playing another game on the side when i don't feel like playing this game, but that shouldn't be what i have to do. @GRxKnight

So youve cleared the new trial on vet? With 4 people? As far as I know NOONE has beaten vet in NA. Hodor did it on EU. So ya not broken.
Actually if you read my previous post you would know that i haven't bothered to try because i don't care for PvE anymore...no matter what updates they give if there's no gear i need i won't do it

Then stop making baseless statements about PVE heh. You are the one who brought it up. You said trials were broken and too easy. Four people could complete them and you want more challenge. The enw trial is the most challenging content in the game and you wont even try it. Yet you claim PVE is broken.

In about a month or less you'll start seeing speed runs and hard mode speed runs up on YouTube...how is that challenging...challenging to me is that the content is difficult no matter how many times you've previously cleared it
