Incentive to PvP in Imperial City

They need to change the way Tel Var stones are awarded for killing enemy players. If player A has 3,000 stones and is killed by player B who has 0 stones, why should player B get a no-risk reward? I like the idea that if player B had 1,000 stones then he could only steal 1,000 stones from player A.

Make gold tempers purchasable with Tel Var stones, rotate some of the other IC sets that drop in WGT and ICP, those sets are awesome and would add more diversity in player builds. Add jewelry to those sets to give us more options than Agility, Willpower, and Endurance jewelry. They hinted at making Hakeijo available for Tel Var, that's great!

Make districts capture-able as was intended. Right now when you get into a PvP fight in the districts, the losers just spawn a few feet away sometimes and have 0 Tel Var to offer those who kill them (as mentioned above). Make them spawn back at home base or have them choose a district that their alliance has captured.

Open up the arena in the arena district for 1v1, up to 4v4 PvP battles. Make it a wager battle or a certain number of Tel Var to buy-in. This would give PvP'ers a place to fight and earn Tel Var and hopefully take a bit of the grief off of the PvE'ers who just want to do dailies and farm trophys/mats.

BIGGEST & QUICKEST WAY TO FIX IC!!!!!!!!

ADD GOLD MATS LIKE TEMPERING ALLOYS, KUTA, WAX, ROSIN, ETC TO THE TELVAR MARKET!!!!!

Also High End Alchemy Mats Like Rot and Columbine should be added.

Seriously This would increase the number ppl who go to this almost barren wasteland.

Yes, at first this would crash the economy a little bit, but it SORELY NEEDS IT, just like any other economy from time to time to bring balance and equilibrium.

From someone who majored in accounting and behavioral economics, I hope you seriously consider this.

Already enough incentives to play IC:
    -Stones -> Mats
-Trophy keys -> Willpower / Agility set
    -Good XP grind
    -Ton of fun

I rarely struggle to find people in the sewers, in IC it's a different story.

You do not spend enough time in the sewers and up top in IC then. Its a *** barren waste land.

As an average at best, probably below average if I'm honest, PvP'er I love fighting in the IC districts. Never far from the respawn point so none of that PvHorse stuff you get in overland Cyrodiil but enough buddies around to make it more of a battle and less of a ganking unlike the sewers.

I assume you mean the fact that you have to run across part of Cyrodiil to get there. That's covered as part of my District Control idea as well:

An alliance which controls a district can travel directly to Imperial City using the Transitus Network regardless of the current state of Gated Access, as long as they also control enough connecting Cyrodiil keeps (at least one scroll keep, the hub keep, and one emperor keep).
You can cut out the "Gated Access" bit of that idea now, I guess, since that setup seems to have died.

I agree, I do spend most of my time in Cyrodill because of my group are not fan of the close quarter combat of the sewers.
I personally love the sewers and up top.

I have to admit I really dig your idea to add gold mats to the tel var stones vendor (and more mats in general), it would also help to lower the crazy price that we see on the guild traders market (PS4 - NA)

More people in sewers = less people in cyro.
Less people in cyro = less huge scale fights = less lag

sup folks. you know what DLC i really love? Imp city. PvE/ PvP zones are awesome and give me a reason to live because my RL is pathetic and i need to flex my e-peen to feel good about myself.

you know what isn't awesome? the fact that there is a lack of activity in imp city these days. I'd love to see regular updates in imp city to keep people coming back to the city constantly. I would like to see parties of people in imp city left and right like in launch.

what do you guys think would give incentive to continuously come back over and over? there is still a ton of content in imp city and it is still extremely fun. not to mention there is not a lag problem like in cyrodil, you'd think there would be reason enough there, no?

They need to give an incentive to enter the IC and PVP like capturing areas for certain faction buffs. Cyrodiil concept is good, but the problem is that its too dam big. Takes way too long to run back and forward camp is expensive as hell. All they have to do is merge IC concept with Cyrodiil and it will be a much more pleasant pvp experience. Hit and run tactics are fine, but if the area to run is as big as Cyrodiil, then it becomes boring.

I've been messing around in there with a friend over the last few nights. It's fun, but nothing to go "OMG!" about. Getting ganked, mid-fight, by a 4 or 5 NBs who are risking no TV stones gets old after a while, though.

Once this renewed sense of "something different" wears off I probably won't return for another 4+ months.

    Repeat, repeat, repeat...

Oh, and the Lag is very much alive down there. Last night it took 1-2 seconds to swap bars. Pretty sweet!
Wake up, we're here. Why are you shaking? Are you ok? Wake up...

I don't know what platform/server you guys are on but xboxEU has been amazing lately as far as IC is concerned. The last few weeks there have been hundreds of players in IC daily. Arena has been packed (sometimes so packed you can't even see enemy markers... Another glitch to thank the TG for). Has been real nice though.... Not sure what everyone is farming for, I go to escape cyrodiil lagfest

Imperial City is currently the least laggy place to go for PvP, folks are popping off the walls in Memorial or ARboretum or whichever district that is 20 at a time, fighting with no lag or framerate issues whatsoever. Worth crap AP, though, because of the overdone diminishing returns. I feel like that system needs an overhaul for while you're in Imperial City districts.

All they had to do is make the week-end vendor sell for AP and Tel Var stones and voila. PVErs who did not buy the DLC would have just for that, there would be less lag in Cyrodiil since some of the zerg would have been in the sewers farming, Azura would have been filled with people in the sewers instead of being completely empty now.

Honestly. All of IC should have a non campaign version for PvE only.

I then think it allows ZOS to make extreme changes to PvP environments that could allow a big pull for those who enjoy PvP.

As a PvE player, the whole zone is very frustrating and because even my guild seeks to PvP, I'm often bored, and uninterested so I stay out. Not sure of the overal population on your server/faction but that's one point of view for Xbox One NA server for DC

The last few times I've been, it's been fairly empty even on a population locked server (Haderus NA). And even the people who are there, are either solo gankers who just want to grief people, or zergs who have no interest in PVP whatsoever.

I play PC NA and Haderus is my EP go-to. Lots of fun with lighthearted (and occasionally skilled) enthusiastic PvP in .... Arboretum (the one where Locano is the quest giver). Even as late as I play (midnight to 2am Central Time) there is usually a three-way going on.
Tenesi Faryon of Telvanni - Dunmer Sorceress who deliberately sought sacrifice into Cold Harbor to rescue her beloved.
Hisa Ni Caemaire - Altmer Sorceress, member of the Order Draconis and Adept of the House of Dibella.
Broken Branch Toothmaul - goblin (for my goblin characters, I use either orsimer or bosmer templates) Templar, member of the Order Draconis and persistently unskilled pickpocket
Mol gro Durga - Orsimer Socerer/Battlemage who died the first time when the Nibenay Valley chapterhouse of the Order Draconis was destroyed, then went back to Cold Harbor to rescue his second/partner who was still captive. He overestimated his resistance to the hopelessness of Oblivion, about to give up, and looked up to see the golden glow of atherius surrounding a beautiful young woman who extended her hand to him and said "I can help you". He carried Fianna Kingsley out of Cold Harbor on his shoulder. He carried Alvard Stower under one arm. He also irritated the Prophet who had intended the portal for only Mol and Lyris.
    ***
Order Draconis - well c'mon there has to be some explanation for all those dragon tattoos.
House of Dibella - If you have ever seen or read "Memoirs of a Geisha" that's just the beginning...
Nibenay Valley Chapterhouse - Where now stands only desolate ground and a dolmen there once was a thriving community supporting one of the major chapterhouses of the Order Draconis

In my humble opinion, pvp is the worst and least entertaining feature in ESO. If it was truly great, fun, and entertaining, you wouldn't need an award incentive to do it. I don't care about my awards for the pve content because it is truly entertaining, unless you group with an epeen elitist.

That is funny to me because for me PvP has always been the only good thing about ESO (except for the intolerable lag that ZOS seems to be unable to fix [considering it has been crippling since release]). I don't have IC (I refuse to pay ZOS for what was supposed be be part of our subs) so maybe that is just the 1v1 PvP that people used to whine about not having. But in Cyrodiil, for me PvP is fun (when not crippled by lag).

Your mileage will vary, of course, but I was with 3 buddies tearing apart the EP and DC for several hours the other night and it was incredibly slow going, which is a shame because it was also one of the most fun PVP experiences I've had in a while. It's just that the instant respawn, diminishing returns, etc. make it so that a continuous fight results in very little AP unless new juicy AP Piñatas players are constantly joining.

    Tried it today again...

i got two alliance motif pages but got slaughered by nightblades and sorcs who only engage if you busy with npcs.
Got like 200 stones after 3 hours because i got attacked every 5 minutes. I think 5-6 times by the same guy, even attacked me immedialy again when i left the base despite 0 stones and far less ap.
God...i hate nightblades, you can't aoe them down because of daedra while they aggro more and more npcs, cloak so they target me instead and the sorc is as tanky as my dragonknight while dishing out extreme dps.

The original set up tied the IC zone to control of home keeps. Tying IC & Cyrrodil together. PVE would have been easy in a controlled server. But that was before the QQ threads on test about access . ZOS probably had it rite to start with before falling into pressure

Yup, they need new ways to tie those together that don't involve gated access since they seem to have abandoned that idea.

just an FYI to people complaining about NB's-

every one in this game has the exact advantage of being able to be in stealth. cloak is a 2.5 second ability that while you can spam it, provides little functional advantage over sneaking.

I usually just hang out and kill mobs all day in IC hoping to get ganked.

yeah we get it, you're not comfortable pvping unless you're in a large group so no body sees how bad you are and you don't have to die alot because you lack the skill to do anything outside of said large group. but this thread isn't about that, its about bringing more people in so more people engage in fights together.

    AAAAAAANYWAYS....

another idea i thought of was maybe having the zones within top side IC being controlled by specific factions adding bonuses to the war effort and TV stones or monster tokens drop rate could be increased significantly. like each zone in IC could be fought over and it would provide +5% regen for the faction that owns each zone.

example: Elven Gardens is owned by AD and Arboratum is Owned by EP, and Cemetary district or market district or whatever is owned by DC, DC or EP players could go into Elven gardens to try and take the zone from AD to add to their respective bonus.
