Maintenance for the week of April 6:
• PC/Mac: No maintenance – April 6

Having chars in the different factions in same campaign is breaking the game.

This allows certain types of people to use an alternate char, so that they can play on side that is winning. This has made an issue where there is no loyalty to a faction. I've seen many people in BWB swap to DC lately, now that they are winning.

In my view, this is even more damaging to the PVP experience than the fwd camps coming back.

Blackwater Blade is something of a self-contained ecosystem, like a bio dome mimicking the conditions of the outside world without replicating them exactly. This problem, among others, are close to irrelevant on the other campaigns.

I for one like the lack of campaign restrictions. 7 of my 8 characters are AD, but I decided to make a DC character so I can duel my AD friends. Now I can still PVP with my DC character in the campaign I want to play in.

Well we had a guild-breaking issue a few months ago where guild chat was exploited and the EP reinforcement routes were "mysteriously" heavily ganked.

Whatever ZOS would do, some exploitations and some loopholes would exist. Eg. if you play for EP and your friend on TS would play for DC, then you could totally gank the pouring players with your supreme intelligence. There's no way to counter that and truth to be told, war is actually like that: the battlefields were always full of amoral, backstabbing ***, and those who only cared about to finish the war at the winning side. And guess what, they did right. Just think about the history of Romania.
My Great House Telvanni did not join the Pact.
But it does not mean I don't want to be Emperor.

Not really. I do this and I play on which ever faction is losing. (EP or DC only)

    Fun facts:

    1. This was already possible before home/guesting restrictions were removed. You just had someone who was homed/guested there queue you in, or if they were homed, you could just queue yourself in.

    2. No one cares about people playing on different factions when the game runs at 8 FPS and 999+ ping.

It helps me because my other Alliance characters are crafters, hunting alliance motif pages, and earning a little AP for style mats. That said, when I'm in there I'm either on the side that has the low score or pop to help keep things balanced.

    Yeah...

Having different characters on different factions is breaking the game...

    Not the latency...

Not the unfixed bugs or the new ones...

Not the lack of content updates...

    Not the class balance...

    Not the game mechanics...

It's players having characters on more than one faction that's breaking the game. Certainly hit the nail on the head with that one.

Breaking news. People like to win and they also like to not lose constantly. TG changed little that would have mattered anyway. Players could still catch a ride into any campaign regardless of where there other faction toons were set. Being homed there allows you to "win" a campaign all the time if you have toons in all 3 factions homed there, but what does winning a campaign really accomplish? Top 10% and top 2% per faction are where the juicy rewards are at and to my knowledge it doesn't even matter if your faction wins for that prize. If anything, getting the necessary AP for a top percentage placement is often easier in an underpopulated campaign.

this was already happening with all the restrictions. the only difference is its better for the other 99% of players who have different faction toons for many different reasons.

and its not like you can easily jump ship half way through and get gold reawards. being in the top bracket of the loosing faction is still better than the lower brackets of the winning faction

It's actually removed a headache, tbh. I play trifaction, and it was a royal pain to get into campaigns. Glad they removed the requirements.

A more interesting post would be a poll revealing what percent of players are cross-faction, and what percent is loyal to 1 faction.

Either you have campaign(faction) scoring and loyalty...... or you have a free for all and remove the campaign scoring and any other form/indicator of loyalty.

You are either a 3 faction game or a 0 faction game....make a choice ZOS.
I don't care which...but make a choice... stick to it and ensure the game can only be played that way and marketed that way.

Let me guess...you couldn't enforce/protect/encourage loyalty...so now treachery is a feature, like animation cancelling.
    GJ :/
Like those with high end gear, 0 ping and programmable peripherals defend animation cancelling, so the AP farmers will defend and encourage easy treachery.
If this is how its going to be, if this is the road we are taking, make it crystal clear so I can move on.

If you do actually consider treachery wrong, and aren't competent to stop it. Then give us the tools to mark a player as a traitor and remove their faction status so that we can attack them outselves. As said above....like in real life ;)

    Thanks.

loyality you said? for the pact? or the dominion? :D dude im playing a video game to have fun.
i PvP in azura's star as DC, EP and AD, do that bother me? no, do that bother someone else? i dont care.
this is a game for fun
ESO PvP lore is misleading... the soon you understand that the better
the true enemies for every player in ESO PvP areas are the skyhigh latency and microsoft power point
the lore pages are good for one and only thing, wiping your ass clean after you poop

There is a thread about ideas to encourage Alliance and Campaign loyalty if those are things that you feel could benefit the game.

In my opinion you could encourage faction loyalty by forming strong pvp groups, being coordinated and avoiding the in fighting. The only reason I ever swap to one of my other characters for a while is when the team I'm in us obviously making them easy targets, and they refuse to be anything other than that. However! I don't usually play same campaign with did factions, just a preferential thing. Running to the winning team is simply not fun for some people, but they may seem to be doing that when they are running from a team that's disorganized and can't get it together due to guild squabbles or other what have you.

Trust me I get it, there are spies.... But, this is war.

I beg to differ, the high cost for switching campaigns midway is breaking the game or the fact that you can't switch your guestcampaign for 3 days.
Imagine you're stuck on either the laggiest campaign or the emptiest and can't switch to the decent one.

Guess why those things were introduced? :)
