How can people even stick up for this? Even if you are a PVE player, you can't be happy with this sort of performance in your game

We capture a keep, unusually long load time. I finally come out, walls nearly repaired, oh they finished? Unusually long load time number 2. I finally come out, everyone is gone. Cool glad I could help the war effort, I guess I'll trot off to try and find that group that was here 15 minutes ago.

As much as I sometimes want to get into PVP, I won't play in slideshow mode.

So, while I haven't left, it's a part of the game I might enjoy but stay away from because it's visually and mechanically unacceptable.

What makes you think they'll listen? Maybe if Server lag affected role-playing they would work on fixing it.

I think it helps that I mostly play in off hours. If I do play during primetime, I expect lag just as I would expect traffic in my morning commute to work.

that stuff happens. Growing up in Hawaii, the state spent a WHOLE bunch of money on something called a "zipper-lane" to help alleviate traffic. It didnt help...anyone who's sat in rush hour traffic on Oahu cant testify to that. When you deal with a pretty big population that ESO has, problems caused by those numbers are bound to pop up.

It's not "popping up" every now and then. It is continuous.

Despite claims of it being the #1 priority and the blatant lie that it is getting better.

Wether they are working on it with everything they have may be true or not, we just dont know, but claims that if is getting better or "improved" already are false.

Console is the worst it has ever been with less players in the zone. I went for a swim half a mile underneath Cyrodiil in the middle of a fight and have had 4 blue screens so far.

I respect your right to say it is not an issue for you since you play off-hours and that is the point of a poll, but many games have far more players and less lag, therefore your point is false.

which games? Eve lags, GW2 lags, DAoC lagged. Maybe all the games Ive played have lag and other more polished games dont.

In no way am I discrediting your experience. Im sure you experience extremely debilitating lag which makes playing unfun. Luckily, I CHOOSE to play during off hours to avoid large numbers which could potentially cause a bad experience for me.

Not a single game I ever played since 2004 lags as consistently and as bad as this. I've played a lot of games too. I played gw2 and daoc off your list, both were better in terms of lag.

unless something has changed, I remember fighting entire battles without half the people rendering on my screen in GW2. Rubberbanding and Lagdar we're coined terms 10 years ago in DAoC. Eve = time dillation anyone? I didnt play warhammer long but I remember lag there as well. Rift had a bunch of people on the screen and I dont remember really bad lag..but you can keep that game. I didnt like it.

That's my experience playing those games man. Gw2 I only played 4 months, but daoc I played for 5 years.

Sure they would lag but never like this, never this consistently. Again getting back to the point of the poll, never considered it an issue that was game breaking. Eso lag is game breaking because the game doesnt work, often.

I live in los Angeles so we should be similar.

It's not a real fix tho ppl have jobs and kids and friends and life and want a game to work when they log into it.

Guess that's the point of this - make the game work and we know that it could, and would be awesome.

Rift didn't lag so much...because it didn't have AOE caps..and a Dominator or Pyromancer or...Warcaller could wipe you in seconds.

GW2 lagged, It had huge ping issues during big fights..you'd basically only able to do spam 1 key...(your main attack) everything else didn't work.

Warhammer Also lagged..to the point they flat out removed Fortresses from that game..

DAOC lagged...later on it was more ping issues during Relic Raids (regular zerg fights never lagged) and early in the games life the lag was FPS...where just coming in view of say..Alb Relic keep resulted in 1 FPS.

I intentionally played on Haderus and Trueflame before recent DLC, where the pops were low to mid most of the time. I learned to accept the occasional lag...but of late it is rather consistent and pervasive due to an excessive amount of players on H & TF since the player exodus from Azura.

I will not get accustomed to the amount of lag that is currently present in Cyrodiil during my play times. I'm signing off early tonight due to this. Eventually, if this continues long enough, I'll just walk away from the game. No big fuss. It's just...well it's what you do when it's not an enjoyable experience any longer.

Simple solution...open another server. If ESO decides to wait a couple months to do this, it's going to lose more than just me.

I have played this game since release (not counting beta) and I remember some pretty awesome fights with minimal lag. The biggest worry I had back in the day was falling through the ground mid fight.
Why can't we have that back? (The good lag fee fights, not the falling through the world. ;) )

Ahh now to reminisce about hilarious ground oil fights..

DAOC was bad, and it could have been great - developers did not fix the problems and the game shut down. GW2 the developers spent a lot of time and money in the first year correcting the issues and wvw is now a lot of fun - performance is hardly ever mentioned in forums in chat, the focus is on gameplay and balance which is healthy. ESO could be great, but it needs that investment too.

I played DaoC for over 12 years and the only time it was lagging was back in old frontiers, where PvP zone and PvE zone had the same instance, and the "Siabra City - PVE events" started.

    For clarification:

Siabra-City = 100-200 players zerging down high level mobs for mass power leveling.
