Not that I haven't been interested in trying MMOs before. I had heard so many good things about GW2 at launch that I considered trying that in the past. I actually installed WoW like last week just because it gets mentioned so much here and I tried the initial quests for a few minutes. Geez, what a horrible UI. I am assuming that the newer expansions clean the game up. I liked Warcraft 3 a lot so I thought I might enjoy the WoW story, but it is hard to get past that UI and the dated graphics.
It is likely that I would have returned to solely playing single player games if I wasn't looking forward to visiting all the other zones in Tamriel.Elektrakosh wrote: »No. It said Elder Scrolls in the title and I had been duped. Loved the character creation though 10/10 for that. Story was good, lovely scenery got to meet some creatures of lore and I thought it would have some freedom like single player games only with a multiplayer element. In this game I have found that you have to rely on others to help you. The classes are restrictive and so are some racial passives especially if you want a great avatar that can manage enemies. This is my first and last MMO I will ever play as I never knew how MMOs played. I prefer single player gameplay due to having more freedom in your abilities. I made a mistake and boy, did I pay for it.
First MMO and Firor says he can turn you into an online gamer with ESO.
It’s really up to you to figure out how you want to play it, as we don’t enforce a play style one way or the other. In fact, ESO has been super-successful at taking gamers not used to massive online games, introducing them to the concepts of group play by making it fun and optional, and turning them into online gamers.
I also don't know what game he is playing but I had to pick a play style when I created my toon.
Yes because I enjoy it. This skin/engine/ with a LOTR lore would be equally, if not more appealing tbh.

Yes they probably quiver in fear of the opinion of 107 people, they better shut down everything right at this moment and save what they have left
WalkingLegacy wrote: »TES stories have consequence. They have choice.
ESO has no consequences and the only choice you have in ESO is your starting zone, character and class.
No it isn't. It shows you how many people were drawn to an MMO because it's Elder Scrolls. This is my first and only MMO. I came here because it's Elder Scrolls, and I haven't regretted it. At the same time, I never would have played an MMO that didn't have a hook like that to draw me in, and I'm highly unlikely to ever play another MMO unless it's got a setting I already know and love, and graphics I like.So only 24% of ESO players would've played this game based on the "game" itself; where a majority wouldn't have. That's pretty sad ZOS.

I dunno what Elder Scrolls games that you are playing, but ESO is pretty typical as far as choice and consequences go. Typically, in an Elder Scrolls title, my "choice" amounts to choosing to not do a quest.
If I ignore Dagoth Ur in Morrowind, nothing different happens. If I kill Vivec, no one else seems to notice, or care. If I do not save Raven Rock, it is still there in Skyrim. About the only "consequence" to be had in Morrowind resulted in the message, "with this character's death, the thread of prophecy is severed. Restore a saved game to restore the weave of fate, or persist in the doomed world you have created."
If I ignore the Oblivion Crisis, Mehrunes Dagon never wins. The Emperor dies no matter what I do. Whatever I do in the Shivering Isles to stop the Greymarch does not really change anything. I did not even get a chance to live in a doomed world.
In Skyrim, I get to choose the winner of the Civil War. This is the first big player decision in any of the last four Elder Scrolls titles, and it does not matter which side I pick because merely picking a side determines the outcome, I cannot lose. If I ignore Alduin and let the dragons roam free, the world does not end as foretold by the wall.

It's more like - we don't enforce a play style one way or the other if you don't care about being competitive after every major update.
