    Even if it cost you like half the original mats or something I'd be fine withit its really just the tempers and enchants that kill it.

    They should just add in a "Re-Styling" option at the crafting stations. Just use up the desired style material, and maybe some other crafting mats or enhancement items.

    Please ZoS, introduce some way of re-stylizing gear, give us the ability to melt down our old gold gear without loosing 7-8 tempering alloys and re-make it the way we want. you are constantly adding new motifs which is great work from your art department but for me, it is making my gear outdated way too fast. hell, make it a crown store stone I will pay.

    Food for thought.

    It is a good sink and intended as such though they'd probably prefer the cold cash from the crown store. I would no doubt this gets added but may not work on dropped set bonus as in it may only work on crafted gear.

    I started a thread about this last week and it was well supported. More and more people keep bringing this up so I am hoping ZOS is listening. We already know they have the ability to do it.

    Definitely need a way to restyle gear, but a stone or other item is definitely not the way to go. We can't just leave crafters in the breeze like that and it would be incredibly bland and underused if it costs resources to restyle. It should be more like dyes, where it takes some effort to earn the ability, but then once you have it you've got it forever. So learning the motif, for instance, might be a good way to do it. Ideally, we should be able to make any piece of gear look like anything we can craft, armor type included. There's no reason to have a bunch of heavy armor users in PvP running around looking like they're in nightgowns yet not let someone have light armor boots that look like a piece of heavy armor. It's just aesthetics.

    1. Seriously, learn to title your threads, especially if you're making a poll. "Now that we have mimic stones... Yes/No" makes no sense whatsoever. Would it be too hard to name the thread "Would you like the ability to change gear styles"?

    2. Yes, I think that ability would be interesting. But if it ever comes to the game, it should be integrated with the crafting system and work outside the confines of the crown store. Make it useable only be max level crafters with 9 traits researched. It could work in the trade window for gear that is bound to a player who isn't good enough a crafter.

    A secondary equipment set would be a better idea, in which costume pieces could be slotted to override visual appearance of its corresponding slot in the primary equipment.

    Having a consumable to change appearance to styles you know isn't a garbage idea, don't get me wrong. I'd just prefer to see the idea escalated to a costume wardrobe. That's just my 2g, tho.
    'Okay, the question is...(laughter)...the question is, we have Vicious Death sets with Prox Det that are doing double damage from last patch -- they're doing double damage -- and the CP system scales them even more. Prox Dets are doing over 20k, okay? That's before Vicious Death does 15, m'kay? We're talking like 30k+. Okay.
    "So, what about the stamina?" Okay. Um "The 2-handed execute skill--" I'm s--I'm sorry. What? The 2-Handed execute? What?! What am I gonna f***ing do?! Am I gonna execute a f***ing zerg with a 2-Handed slice?!'

    Not saying no because I dislike the idea of transforming gear. Indeed, I think it's super important and want it ASAP. But I don't want yet another crown store stone to do it. It should be like dyes, where you invest a lot of time getting there but then can do it for free forever. Whether this involves just learning the motif, or investing a certain amount of crafting stones per set piece, or what, I don't care, but the system would see way more use if it followed that model instead of having to buy a stone every time you want to switch between Glass and Trinimac or whatever.

    We know it's already supported (with the Imperial style morph right click option)

    Having a passive option (Morph) that allows you to choose your learned styles would be nice;

    Say you've mastered the Daedric Motiff,
    Instead of Right Click - Morph to Imperial Style, it would be Morph, then you'd select the style from your mastered motiff list;

    Not a crownstore feature please...

    I voted yes, but I don't want it to be something you can only get from the crown store.
    I'd also like the ability to be able to give max level styled items the appearance of say, a level 10 style.

    If I want a V16 Bosmer chest piece, I'd like to be able to craft it with the same appearance as the level 1 chest piece if I choose to.
    I'd love to have this kind of freedom when crafting.

    The way I'd like to see something like this implemented is that you put on the gear you like the look of dye it the colors you want . Then you'd use a scroll of costume creation and are presented with a bound personailised costume that you can use.

    This would let me have a low level look whilst using V16 gear for stats. Would be great for fashionista's and I'm sure crafters could make coin selling rare looking armor peices.

    No. As a crafter, I need the business from fashionistas redoing their wardrobe every season. It's something to keep the economy churning; something to strive for even if you have outfitted all your max rank alts and are now eyeing the bank mule judgmentally.

    ESO is already transforming into an instant gratification theme park.

    09jpZERORUN4-blog427.jpg

    What makes you say ESO is turning into an "instant gratification theme park"!?!? Did you play this game before IC? We used to be able to craft almost unlimited items uber inexpensively; there was no scarcity at all. Now the crafting material requirement has been increased tenfold and RNG is at a cruel high.

    With the amount of investment a single piece of gear requires now, we should be able to re-style it.

    I crafted my first piece of VR16 medium armour yesterday. Previously I've been in full Khajiit armour but it looks a bit bulky for a Knighblade. I thought that the Soul Shriven cops looked a little less wing like than the Khajiit ones from the preview, and they look fine, but they're a mess when dyed and wont go nice and black maintaining a silvery sheen; I want to change them.

    I thought the Soul Shriven shoulders looked good also. I decided to craft them at VR14 (to save mats) to see how they look. As you said, they look good, but don't take dyes worth a damn.
