Running around grabbing nodes, it what roughly every 200 will net you a gold temper?

Man it's going to take a while to get 13 alloys/ 37 wax...

Plus the kuta..

Sell the refined materials in a guild store, use that gold to buy a legendary temper.

Go play PvE/PvP and get a BoE item in demand, sell it for 80k+, buy 10 legendary tempers.

Run daily writs, get lucky and get legendary tempers, get survey for high yield of materials to refine, then see opening sentence again.

If you're the only one farming and refining yes it will take time, however you can use the gold you earn during this time to help you along by buying some.

Those Robust Agility Rings still go for around 150k gold. One ring can net you enough legendary tempers to take at least 2 pieces to gold.

Yeah, looks like i'll have to farm a bit there, i'm at around 40/60 for both shards/ether and teeth.

IF you belong to a guild AND tend to work with them a lot there is usually someone that has a stack of each ready to break it up an sell it at a good price for guild members. The other way is doing writs. I hear people farm lower areas, but my experience with that was not good... not enough people around to refresh the nodes to make it worth my time. There is one flower that you can make decent gold on ... Columbine! If you have no use for it then sell it. I made more money in one week by setting fair prices. If you put things up for top gold, they tend to sit too long.

Well, it took me about 3 days of hardcore farming (around 6-8h a day) to get 3500 of v16 light/heavy mats and ~ 100 wax/alloys. I could sell half of the alloys and buy more wax. So I could make 2 whole new sets on gold. I think it's pretty okay.

Where to farm though, i usually just run crag, chance for nirn.

Any zone really as the quality of the material doesn't matter for the tempers, only your selling prices afterwards. If you want quiet zones try gold/silver zones.
I would recommend Wrothgar if you have crafting points as the materials are worth a little more to sell on.

If you want to go down the making gold to buy tempers I would recommend farming in Imperial City and opening the vaults for the rings/necklaces, you can also use Telvar Stones to buy containers with VR16 sets and sell them.

What this guy said. Farming is the very long way round.
Fastest mat farm imo is take level 3 to wrothgar and farm iron ore. That stuff is everywhere compared to voidstone and rubedite

Gold gear is only needed at VR16 end build. At VR16 you can farm the cash in no time. Or go trading, easy 100k a day profit.

If you plan on having once character for farming nodes, also make sure to invest your CP into constellations with the passives for chance of doubling a node drop and reducing harvest times. This will make farming faster.

As for Kuta's they will be your hardest finds, check every red rune node, if it's not what you want take it any way so it respawns elsewhere/there and gives another chance for a Kuta spawn. You should also find heavy sack locations and make a note of them, these can have 5x kuta in them which apparently can proc for double node and give 10x kuta.

Also as said before do the daily writs for the surveys which grant double resource nodes.

This isn't grinding, it's playing the game. Grinding is a repetitive task, that bores you because of doing it again in short cicles.

Also, 60k gold is one day of casual farming for someone with few time. So 5 days for a full golden set...

I've much time, so I /played 120 days ingame for the last year (take that "beta players"), but I'm still not bored at all. I never farmed for tempers, too. They just come by when you run around an island collecting nodes for half an hour a day and do professions on mulitple chars in minutes.

Hirelings is a nice passive way to get mats. Writs is almost guarantee a gold mat. I do writs every day on 14 toons. Get at the least 8 gold tempers a day. Plus chance for survey to get enriched nodes that nets tempers from refining raw mats. I have a surplus of at the least over 300 of each gold temper. Temp alloys being the most I have (500+). I'm a hoarder lol. No need to sell them anyway since I have all the gold I need (9 million). I geared 7 of my v16 toons with gold everything.

If you just look for it when you are ready to make gear, yes, it takes time.

If you are interested in crafting and set all your characters to get hirelings and grab them regularly, and also tend to pick up nodes of any level along the way as you quest, it's not that bad.

But yeah, if you hit v16 and then start looking, I feel for you.

EU PC rough prices:
8 Tempering alloys per metal item (8x8000) = 64.000,00 gold per piece
8 Dreugh wax per clothing item (8x5000) = 40.000,00 gold per piece
8 Rosin per wood item (8x2500) = 20.000,00 gold per piece

Do your math, and see how much gold you need to farm.
If farming nodes is still your best way of income, do it.
If you have a way of earning gold faster than farming nodes, do THAT.

Things are really simple if you think about it.

I recently pulled my grinding cap on and earned around 50k per hour of grinding.
