As I also suffer with this issue, I have to agree with most of the points and ideas but I would point out that "300 bank slots would give us breathing room" would soon change to "300 Bank slots is not enough, 350 would give us breathing room"

I also have the issue with "My Main is my main crafter" (all crafting skills at 50, something that developed unplanned), and while he is chronically short on bag space, I have been able to juggle materials and items (do I really need more then 200 of any plant or provisioning material?) so that most of my alts (all have provisioning, some have other crafting skills) have a good amount of space... (the alt enchanter and Alchemist are shorter on space then the rest) but again, how many of these rune stones do I really need? can I do with less then 600 "Ta" rune stones? do I really need any Jejota (Green aspect) as I only make yellow (Kuta) and purple (Rekuta) glyphs for myself and others? I think it's a matter of "Need over Greed" but used to define what you keep in the bank or on your person and not group loot drops.

Of all the things I have lost, I miss my mind the most...

Hoarding is a difficult thing to get over.

I can make some recommendations as I'm mostly in the same situation.

I do not keep stacks of anything past highest tier mats in quantity. I sell them on the ah once they are above 100 (I don't let them even get to 200).

I have a food mats alt that keeps nothing but food/drink related mats.

I have a "will I ever use these pieces" alt.

I keep them both below their max bag space... if they get full I sell off the crap that been sitting in them forever. Basically every sunday morning I do an inventory culling. I don't need more than a full stack of anything except highest level mats, I either move the stuff to the ah or dump it into a guild bank so someone else can have it.

Crafting bags will be the solution for sure. Until then, pick a day... engage in a culling of what you do not need. Got 1000 flour sitting on one of those alts? Sell 600 of it, you really don't need it.

While everyone's talking about adding bag/bank slots and the crafting bag, I'm just over here sipping my tea like "When are items going to stack past 200?"
'Okay, the question is...(laughter)...the question is, we have Vicious Death sets with Prox Det that are doing double damage from last patch -- they're doing double damage -- and the CP system scales them even more. Prox Dets are doing over 20k, okay? That's before Vicious Death does 15, m'kay? We're talking like 30k+. Okay.
"So, what about the stamina?" Okay. Um "The 2-handed execute skill--" I'm s--I'm sorry. What? The 2-Handed execute? What?! What am I gonna f***ing do?! Am I gonna execute a f***ing zerg with a 2-Handed slice?!'

Just decon that Pariah BoP set. You aren't going to use it. Stop hoarding, and your problem is solved. Kinda like IRL.

Not trying to be a [snip], but it's true.

I love to see the parallels to your real life, maybe deconstructing your jeans to make room in your 240 slot closet? :D

Actually, that a great comparison. I recently sold a ton of crap from my garage and closets. It's nice to pare everything down to only what you need and get rid of junk you're just holding on to for no real reason.

Is it really considered "hoarding" when a crafter has 1 stack of each material in her/his bank? How many materials are there? I am pretty sure there is over 240, and keep in mind that raw materials do not stack with refined ones either. So if you would make potions, gear or transfer drops and loot to your other characters you really need to juggle with the bank and be creative with "mules". Is that how it is intended to be? Are people forced to have one or two specialties per character? I think that if there are as much slots as there are materials (maybe ten more for transfering goods between characters) the problem is as good as solved. If people still run out of slots I will happily jump the bandwagon and say that it is a matter of hoarding. :)

After struggling with bank space, things finally got better with more bank and bag space, bigger stacks (but not consistently across the board), plus mount capacity always there instead of just when riding a pack mule. Now with every DLC, more items are introduced that are clogging inventory. I don't think it's an accident that Mimic stones are in the crown store that can replace around 30 items while bag space remains constrained, and we anticipate crafting bags. The overt cash grab is really taking a shine off the game.

It'd be quite logical to have e.g. an alchemist's bag, enchanter's bag, carpenter's bag, fisher's bag etc.
This way, with worms, glyphs, runes, flowers, armours etc. all in one place is quite confusing and space wasting.

    1. No. People have been doing that for 2 years now. Some recruited people that were leaving the game, others just ended up with it after a small guild tanked. On console, from what I've seen you can make multiple accounts yourself, I've even seen a couple on here that actually purchased extra accounts on sale to do it.

    2. You can withdraw from it but not deposit until you have 10 members again.

I'd totally do that - pay some crowns to give some "circle of friends" guild a guild bank, then drop a lot of stuff in there... and sigh in relief at the state of my toons inventory! ;)

There are PC/MAC game codes for affordable prices avaiable on Ebay if anyone wants to make their own guild. 3 base game codes + 3 explorer pack codes totals for less than what the ESO store sells Imperial edition for. I spread my purchases out over a period of months and am now the satisfied owner of 2 guild banks.

The trick basically is to make newbies join, who are not sure yet, if they will continue to play the game - with enough of those in your guild, you won't fall below 10, because these members will most likely never login again so not leave your guild.

I had less of a problem in other TES games with inventory space - in Morrowind I specialized in "no armor, no weapons" - so what would I need loot for then - there is nothing to repair and I need nothing to buy as well. In Oblivion I was mainly a Breton sorceress, in enchanted clothes - they do not need repair at all, a Breton born under the Atronach is either resisting or absorbing magic casted against her and in the later game those are your main enemies, magic based ones, so I never ran out of magicka. Being an alchemy master helped as well a lot - there was no need to pick up a mass amount of loot. I had to pick some flowers and make them into awesome potions but otherwise, a couple of bows and potions and that's it. In Skyrim I was a illusionist/conjurer with alchemy mastery - there is not really a need for armor or weapons, if you can just cast your "boys" to do the fighting. So I was never in need in other TES games to have a large inventory. In ESO on the other hand the game is designed to provide you with a lot of stuff in order to make you buy slots from the crown store - it is designed to do that.

This would be a tremendous help. I currently start to sell off stacks of certain items once I have more than two, except for materials I will be needing for writs. Yet my bank is always full, and when I want to transfer items to an alt I have to first withdraw a bunch of stuff to make space. And I don't even keep anything like gear in the bank - there are just too many crafting materials needed in this game. I thought about starting my own guild just for the guild bank but I'm not sure how you can talk 10 people into joining a guild that serves no purpose.

I would pay a ton of money (or crowns) if they would offer bank extensions up to 300.

I'm not putting my hopes on the crafting bag fixing the situation since I'm not someone that can always sub, so I won't get it. They need to offer a fix for everyone.

Somewhat - at least in RL it is true - I clear out my stuff every few years, because I am not going to use it anyways. In games that can be more critical, in second life for example my inventory has over 200,000 items - 200,000 - do you think I even know what is all in it?- And when it comes to needing a dress for a party, it is easier to buy a new one, then to find something in my inventory. I could possibly delete most of it, but the selection process would take me years - so I am stuck with the mess.

It would help if ZoS didn't have to continually "balance" sets. You never know when your "useless" set will all of a sudden become the "must have" set in this game.

I think it's beyond hoarding. I won't take the time to count the individual items needed to craft, but take that very large number, then add just one trait of each bound/unique set in each weight only available in VR16, the number is already out of hand. Then you have potions you need on hand, food you need on hand, lockpicks, repair kits, soul gems. With new armor sets, now not only with different traits and weights, but faction styles but no extra space, it just isn't possible to keep sets to even try them out, short of creating a completely separate account, and that's just ridiculous.

I love these comments. Any time you have to justify being a [snip], then just save it. If you don't struggle at all with bank/bag space at any point, it's likely you just don't play the game much. Or perhaps you the guy that comes in to guild chat every other day asking for someone to make him/her food/potions/gear...etc.
