Not only that, but the solids made great fertilizer! There's gold in them thar chamberpots!

Edit: oh and incidentally, the expression "so poor he doesn't have a pot to *** in" comes from this practice of selling urine. If you were so poor you didn't have a pot to *** in, then you could only sell your urine by actually holding it until you marched yourself down to the tannery (because it was used to tan hides too) or cloth-maker and did your business there for a coin.

You read anything about how doctors would treat it? With the belief that disease came from bad smells snd an imbalance of humors, i wouldnt be supprised if there was something interesting in that field...

So I'm a big history buff. I majored in History with a double minor in 2 departments that were also mostly history (Medieval Studies and Greek and Roman Studies), and that was purely because I'm interested in history. I've always specifically tried to avoid learning too much about medical practices from the Dark Ages through to the American Civil War though... That stuff just creeps me out. I know some of the basics (like the imbalance of humours theories, and the thought that bad smells caused disease - which is why plague doctors had those freaky masks with the long "noses" that were actually full of smelly herbs and stuff), and some things that I had to learn here and there where it was relevant to other things I was studying. As a rule, though, I try not to examine too closely anything medical-related from that very broad time period. I'm not generally squeamish, but any time I've started to look into historical medical practices I shudder and have to stop. I'm OK with stuff from ancient Egypt (they used honey on wounds - and it works!) or ancient Rome or ancient Greece, or stuff from non-European cultures, because that all tends to be less squicky...

Starting to feel a little about Khajiit nicknames; however, there is another aspect about Khajiit in TG mainly and few other places in ESO when Khajiits are not talking in 3rd person. A writer mistake?

I suspect Khajiit are intelligent enough to master another language, particularly like the one adopted by an Orc family in Wrothgar...

Why? They should be allowed to make any character they want, whenever they want. I guarantee you the people writing the lore and characters at ZOS have a far greater feel for TES then any of us do. I for one am glad they introduce characters like this, it is boring to see every race always behave in a cookie cutter fashion.

I have to admit though in a similar vein I get the feeling there are far too many cowardly Orcs throughout the storyline. It seems odd given their culture but perhaps that's what a 'City Orc' is. There are also seemingly way too many drunken and stupid Nords losing their pants. I don't mind a few caricatures but sometimes it is nice to see subtler qualities. On the issue of stereotypes, there are also a number of megalomaniacal mages, particularly altmer. Altmer appear have a quixotic brashness when it comes to magic that borders on the insane it would seem, and often get burned for it. Even the guildmaster himself shows some of these qualities, which in some level I found surprising given his time on the Isle of Artaeum.

As another example, I have one Bosmer DK and one Bosmer Stamplar that both have adopted Ayleid forenames without a surname. They also are DC home Alliance.

    Unique? Yes.

    Lore breaking? Probably not.

I knew it couldn't be just me!

The huge number of stupid Nords in this game bothers me. It feels like a running gag, and I honestly don't remember them being so dumb in previous TES game.

I noticed the "crazy Altmer wizard" thing too, but it didn't bother me that much. Maybe because I like that archetype better.

I'm not saying that there shouldn't be stupid Nords in the game, but it just feels like there are too many of them already. And yes, as you said, often drunk and/or half-naked. I'm not a big fan of that stereotype.

Just so that everyone knows, my Altmer still can't have black hair. About a dozen of Altmer NPCs in the game have black hair. Just saying.

    Meet my characters:
    Command: Do the thing.

Zadarri, Khajiit Fist of Thalmor: The thing was done, as commanded.
Durza gra-Maghul, Orc blacksmith: The thing was done perfectly, in the most efficient way.
Tegwen, Bosmer troublemaker: You can't prove I didn't do the thing.
Sings-Many-Songs, Argonian fisher: Sure, I'll do the thing... Eventually. Maybe.
Aerindel, Altmer stormcaller: After extensive research, I've come to the conclusion that doing the thing would be a waste of resources.
Liliel, Dunmer pyromancer: Aerindel said I shouldn't do the thing. Something about "resources".
Gyda Snowcaller, Nord cryomancer: I will find a way to do it that won't waste resources and make Aerindel proud of me.
Beatrice Leoriane, Breton vampire: I persuaded someone else into doing the thing. You are welcome, dear.
Sahima, Redguard performer: Doing the thing sounds awfully unpleasant and really not my problem.
Ellaria Valerius, Imperial priestess: I'll pray to the Eight for the thing to be done, if it is Their will.

    zos breaking lore?

    1. We have orcs allied with Bretons... Dunmer allied with argonians. Really? These races have no business being allied with each other regardless of what catastrophe befalls tamriel. (Imo)

    2. Any race any alliance? Queen Ayren's call to arms for the dominion was something along the lines of the races of man are too kiddy and that she'd sooner put a baby elf on the throne then see it ruled by the races of men. Yet... My guild has put an imperial on the throne for AD.

    3. Cyrodil in this era is supposed to be a jungle. Not open fields.

I can go on and on but I'll stop right here. There are quite a few videos on YouTube about these inconsistencies If you're interested. Basically for me I assume everything that happens here is part of a dragon break. No other explanation possible.
