New Thieves Trove provide too much loot?

    this is actually a game breaking issue - you just don't see this yet - if one activity, which can be camped on top of it, is providing more income than any other, then more and more will focus on this activity and let go on the others, because those are no longer fun to do - too much gold gets into the system and an inflation is happening - this is a disaster actually.

    You know you can just sell 140 trove items a day?

    Do you know that while you are wasting time by doing that you can earn 4 times that money with about 6 other ways ingame? You know how?? camping too XD and zerging.

    8 x 140 items = 1120 items with those 8 characters you have - each worth at least 40 gold makes 44.8k gold. What is roughly 10 times more than I can currently make with doing writs - so why would I even want to do writs? but why would I want to do camping? - why would I even want to play this game, if it is not fun anymore.

    Lol. Just compare time and profits of relogging in Wayrest or farming columbines in Hollow city with camping thse boxes. I didnt even mention IC sewers ;)
    Besides, crafting writs give gold tempers. kutas and surveys, as well as nirncrux.

    So what, you can just buy that stuff with enough money, no need to actually work for it - you see, too much money in the game is bad.

    You actually would have to sit there doing nothing, for such a laughable reward. You wont get champion points, you wont get any experience for your char, and you wont have any fun. Dont you think it is a bit much? I wouldnt do it, I earn enough gold just by playing the game and having fun. ;) And I'd recommend you to do it as well instead of bashing people who "get too much gold".
    And this game's economy is problematic, but not because people have too much gold, but because there's not much tradeable goods and there's not enough gold sinks. And it wont become any better until those issues are solved.

    I am fairly new, casual player and low level - I have a different perspective on this than you, because my options are by far more limited that yours. This is not comparable really.

    Edit. you are right as far as the economy goes - there is a reason why EVE online has such a good and vibrant economy - CCP actually bothered to have a actual economist in their team to have an eye on it and suggest changes or measures to let it not get out of bounds. And it is awesome to do economy pvp in that game.

    Well, eso economy is not about my point of view. And speaking about new players and casuals... Maybe this was actually needed? For high level player with millions of gold in their bank 6k is not a big deal, not even worth laundering (when I was going for "Black market mogul" achievemnt, I only picked green, blue and purple items, imo white items are not really worth it). But I often see people in Auridon who compalin about not being able to buy a mount or pay bounty, or sometimes even repair. Why cant those troves be an option for them?
    That being said, I'd prefer them to be locked, to avoid bots.

    In fact just the respawn timer would have to be fixed or a marker placed onto the player, that he cannot loot the same location again for some time. This would help with it and than I would be happy again - I just do not like campers, who exploit that.

    "High level player with millions of gold in their bank" - now a happy camper with 8 chracters and low level can make about 1.2 million per month from those troves. Let just 10.000 people do that - then you have 12 billion gold more in the market - I call this an inflation.

    But those player can do the same and even more with relogs in places with lots of containers (picking only green and better items gives 2-5 times more profit per character). That's faster and gives much more gold... They can do it already and were able to do it since 1.6 release. Not to mention that just grinding mobs and selling loot generates tons of gold.
    And the only significant price inflation since then is related to gold temper drop nerf (and there was a deflation related to certain farming exploit in certain public dungeon).
    People are hoarding tons of gold npw simply because there's no gold sinks when you have all horses, all bank slots and vr16 sets of gear. Almost all items are BoP anyway.

    I opened about 20 of these troves, and in about half (or even more) of them was a VR16 set item, 2 of them purple (the first time I found a PURPLE set item, ever!!!).
    I thought it IS kinda a bit much, but I won't complain nonetheless. I don't think I'll ever use the Darkstride set (which dropped the most), but maybe I can sell them or give them away to whoever needs them.

    Well, I have done a little more testing on the troves now and it is not that bad as I expected at first due to some things, which I did not experience this morning.

    1. the loot in the troves seems to be scaled to level - so you wont get something really good as a newbie - what is ok.
    2. there is not always something sellable in the trove - ths morning I had just sellable stuff - that was misleading
    3. the respawn time seems to differ a whole lot more than I experienced it at first
    4. a lot of the better items are bound

    So overall I have to say, it might not be that bad after all - maybe needs just a little adjustment in the respawn timing.

    Yes my first impression was wrong - that is basically what I wanted to say with it. I was misled by the few samples I had in the morning, but after further testing it seems to be much better than I thought at first. I am one of those, who admit if they were wrong and that is why I stated that as well.

    The argument about inflation is dumb. There will always be gold sinks, kiosks are huge gold sinks. New helm vendor is a huge gold sink.

    On the other hand I think their should be a 5 minute CD on a Thief trove so people will stop camping the same one on a lvl 10.

    They respawn too fast, other then that I think they are great. (although it's kind of odd I can open them without being in the Thieves Guild or even having entered Abah's Landing yet).
    Semi retired from the trading aspects of the game.

    tbh they mainly contain golds worth, and it's stolen loot so it can even be removed from you! so it's a risk vs reward of sorts

    And yeah... Troves seem to be heavily rng based. Speaking of respawn rate, it seems to be 4-5 min or so. Maybe more often in peak hours. But there might be some bugged troves, just like instantly respawning harvest nodes.

    Dont nerf the troves. They arent that wonderful, I mostly find lockpicks. I hate you people calling for nerfs all of the time.

    I found one. IT had a green set item. I am level 18. Yeah, good luck getting gold for that. There is nothing wrong with these as they are scaled.

    All I get in terms of gear is superior Darkstrider Ice Staff, I've gotten like 4 of these, all with garbage traits.

    No nerf is needed.

    meh, there's a valid point here.

    I stood between a trove and a a fishing hole last night and fished until the hole was empty. I looted the trove box every time it appeared.

    I ended up with a couple of perfect roe and a few thousand gold in stolen goods in about 15 minutes.

    It's certainly more profitable than doing writs, and it doesn't even take any of your own mats. There's really no downside to it at all, especially if you're fishing or something while you wait for the respawn.

    Well, I saw a Camper last night on a Trove. While approaching the Camper did jump up and down as to draw attention to the location. I went over there and they camper clearly indicated that I should take the trove. However after that, they stayed there. I watched for a while and the Trove respawned in about a minute. I went on and did what I needed to do in the area, but went back and the camper was still there and pulled two more while I watched.

    There were no other Players around in this cell.

    So, the respawn timers on these do need to be adjusted, at least some of them.

    Was the camper you @Miszou ? The reason I ask is this was right next to a fishing hole.

    If people have the time to sit at Thieves Troves and wait to fill their bags with stolen Portable Chamber Pot shipments and random-traited set gear, that's their prerogative. Play How You Want! >:)

    (I do admit, I'll never stop wondering why the chamber pots are specified to be Portable. A non-portable chamber pot sounds like a seriously bad investment.)

    They are everywhere.
    Many people complain about lack of story quest or world bosses or delves, but the thieves main content are actually the daily quests all over tamriel with thieves troves on top of it.
    Also the new trial ofr course.

    It doesn't provide too much loot since you have to launder said loot and everyone is restricted to a maximum number of times per day they can do this.

    You won't get rich from troves. At least not richer than someone actually farming for gold, motifs or some of the new popular set items (Vicious Death, maybe? I haven't checked the market prices yet).

    Right now they are a great way for new players, casual players or simply people who only have a few minutes left to do something and get some gold in return.

    The troves are fine. I could see increasing the spawn time to 5 or 10 min tops to make them less enticing to camp.
