And to the people voting against dueling being a feature, you should be some sort of scientists lol you think in a very very unique way
This game does have a feature where people can fight each other, its called Cyrodil.
Just because YOU think dueling is great and should be in the game from the beginning does not mean others have to think the same way. There are plenty of people that don't like dueling and don't want to see it in game in any form whatsoever. It is not unique, in fact it is very common according to this poll and the other 100+ threads posted.
Also there is a game that either just finished or is in beta that will be pretty much all open world PvP with little to now PvE.
So what you can just have an option where you do not want to be asked to duels. Why does this kind (open world duels) of thing hurt you unskilled pvers so much?vamp_emily wrote: »They will add dueling after the duelers have left the game.
When they do add dueling I think you should be able to use all your skills. I think it is lame that duelers don't let the opponents use skills such such as cloaking.
No.Cloaking isnt a skill for a fight between two people. If you are too afraid to fight them face to face, then decline their offer.Cloak doesnt belong in a fair two person fight at all. That's what dueling is,face to face.

Like i said, lame. I don't duel so it does not matter to me. I still think you should be able to use the skills provided to you.

Need some grand music as well from the art crew,
Duel can only start after the music ends.

We can't duel our friends in cyrodiil, they could add dueling in cyrodiil atleast.

I AGREE!
It is honestly disturbing how many players do not want such a basic feature implemented.
Honestly, if you do not want to duel, that is fine, do not do it.
But is there a valid reason to deny that to other players?
And honestly, if someone says-

You can duel your friends. You each make characters in opposing factions. This happens all the time. I came across people dueling outside one of the keeps last week and another group in the midle of nowhere a few days before that.. They kept taking turns versing each other while the rest watched. If the are able to do it, so can you until they get the new system finished.
This whole thread and other recent ones are pointless... they are working on a system to allow it. It will take as long as it takes. They can't do it faster than "already working on it"
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OS5YaGrmyZQ I remember when i did this quest, i waited for the last man standing then took him out. I imagine arena's could look like this. spectre303 wrote: »the IC Arena district has an achievement for killing enemy players in the arena... go there? or go duel anywhere on any pvp map. whats stopping ya?

This is such an asinine suggestion.
To suggest that I go level a character on an opposing faction, and then go duel in a warzone campaign that has nothing to do with dueling.
There is nothing wrong with dueling your friends in the open world. It does not hurt you in the slightest.
To top it off, dueling could be done faster or even slower. It all depends on the resources behind the initiative.

I disagree, and I will leave it at that because I don't care to get into another back and forth discussion with you on it.
The point is the ARE working on it. It will not happen any faster no matter how many threads are posted. They will not drop everything that every team is working on in other parts of the game to get this done faster.
Btw, I have to ask, you didn't happen to go by the name "Walking Target" in another game a long time ago?

What doesn't make sense is anyone saying "no". If you don't want to play the game mode... don't play it?

A feature that doesn't affect you yet you argue against people that want it.

Very narrow and short sited point of view. Once again a pro-dueler ignoring the opinion of others because is something you want.
It does effect me greatly if I am in the middle of a quest and two knuckleheads decide to duel right where the NPC'S for the quest are. It kind of ruins the whole atmosphere of the story. The NPCs are where they are and can't be easily moved.
Dueling can be placed where it won't conflict. I don't trust the selfish attitudes displayed by pro-duelers to be courteous because, by and large they have demonstrated they don't give a damn about anyone but themselves.
Why should I have to be subjected to your duel. That is why I support seperate areas for dueling so you can have your fun and I can have mine without being forced to be an unwilling spectator.
And I legitimately knew a player by the name a Walking Target in another game.

...then don't duel. I don't particularly enjoy dungeons but I don't advocate that there are no dungeons lol. Don't ruin other people's fun

Then you could argue immersion against everything. Brightly colored armors could offended peoples immersion - I certainly don't like it one bit but I'm not gonna argue to take it away. Nudists crafting. Etc etc
What is narrow? You don't want players to have something yet in reality two players dueling doesn't really matter. That quest giver that just asked you to find the skooma his sister hid...yeah he just gave that to the same schmuck right in front of you - did that ruin your immersion?

I have stated numerous times that a separate dueling area away from questing and high traffic areas are fine with me. I did not say no dueling ever. Not saying you cant have your fun. I am saying I shouldnt be forced to have my fun ruined by it. You're saying "we don't care about your fun, we want it how we want it and we are not willing to compromise" There is a difference.
As far as the schmuck in front of me, his interaction with the NPC does not distract nor interphere with my interaction with said NPC.
Again big difference between that and two people jumping and rolling around and spamming skills. Yea we got Molag Bal trying to end the whole world and take everyone's soul, but this petty duel is more important.
I say no to dueling everywhere and anywhere and I will continue to make sure that stance is represented in every dueling thread made. I won't go away until the day I decide to leave the game which wont be anytime soon and you will never change my mind on the issue ever.
Done with this particular discussion for now. I have better things to do with the rest of my day than continue to bang my head against a brick wall.
