Referring to Surprise Attack? I ran an analysis on Surprise Attack compared to Biting Jabs, and the results were inconclusive. Likely the problem is that you're comparing tooltips, and not actually testing them with control factors in relevant context. I might add that testing damage potential with control factors is all but impossible in Cyrodiil, which is why most people do their testing on Blood Spawn, a lengthy fight in which damage can be sustained for the entirety of the fight. Here is a portion of the analysis, for those interested:Strider_Roshin wrote: »Please play as a NB. That is all.
Shoot I tried it, every NB I know refuses to acknowledge the OP skills. Play a Templar is all I gotta' say then you'd realize having a skill that can be spam nonstop with a tooltip of 8-10k is pretty damn OP.

Did you factor in that jabs must be aimed, every one has to hit for max damage, and its a channel? In the time it takes 3 jabs to full hit you can easily hit 4 surprise attacks. On top of it ALL jabs is broken against shields, case closed.

As for stealth, its an issue, but only because yes they are annoying spamming it. But if you play a NB you know it still barely works. However, so few skills this current patch help detect NBs. Mainly pots do.
OP: NBs are pretty damn fun as well, not all AOEs should pop a NB outta stealth. You should read Cloak tooltip.

Played my lowbie NB again few days ago... was totally disgusted at how easy mode it is playing on the NB.. almost felt like I couldn't die... anyway back to my other toons.. I prefer at least some effort while playing.

I played only Nightblades for the first two years longer if you count beta don't have a non Nightblade till January and I find all other classes much easier not having to melt face in .2 seconds to win cause you have heals, shields or defensive powers is great.Referring to Surprise Attack? Both Templars and Nightblades have a crit damage bonus but Templars have a weapon damage buff and burning light to boot.
My crit rating plus burning light makes my Jabs far better then Surprise Attack. Clone a Stamina Nightblade's DPS build to your Stamina Templar and see how bad a** you are.

If we're talking about PvP then it depends. Against a Nightblade, jabs are more efficient that SA. Against a sorc, it's less efficient. Against another templar or DK then they're on par. Fighting Nightblades as a templar is pretty easy. Gap close, knock them down, jab to death. The key is to stay aggressive; if they try to cloak you'll reveal them immediately.
