Ok I am so *** pissed at IC...

see, i am a PVE'ler so i have no skill in PvP and to find random groups for IC is close to impossible and when those are PvPlers and my dying rate is *** HIGH..... I cannot get any gear at the vendor nor anything else because i am getting ganked anyway... This is *** sorry,

AT LEAST NOT LOOSE 100% of you Stones to a *** ganker i mean what the hell ? this happens to me not at 10000 stones or anything then i would say, that i gambled to high but it happens always when i have around 1000 stones or less, well, my opinion is easy

    *** update *** DLC

    You lose 80% not 100%.

    If you can't fight:
Choose a different campaign, make stealth/mobility pots, PAY ATTENTION to your surroundings and if you see an an enemy player, stealth drop pot if need be and gtfo.

Finally buy your stuff with gold if you cannot hang.

PVP SHOULD be in IC - cope or be somewhere else.

Agree completely here. I'm not a real PvPer, but even I realize that IC is PvP (mostly). Either fight better or, as the poster said, go stealthy. They're really your only choices. After a few times in IC I figured out where the gankers hang (and, yes, sometimes they're unavoidable). My best solution, since I'm, at heart, a single PvEer was to bring along my partner. Not ideal, but made survivability a lot better. To me, 1/2 the fun is getting revenge though. I've spent whole days ganking the gankers.

I've started to do this myself, above ground in the arena and in the sewers... Let some random be bait, the ganker tries to kill them and then suddenly you and someone else jump the ganker. repeat till they stop trying to gank...

I've never set foot in IC even though I sub. I don't do it not because I don't like PvP but because I don't like PvP IN THIS GAME. Random lag is what would cause my many deaths rather than the uber-leet-skillz of other players. Not my cup of tea. It does gall me that there are entire zones of the game that, because they are so utterly unenjoyable, I basically can't go there. The makers of MMOs really need to finally learn that PvE and PvP are 2 separate games and plan accordingly. Everything in the game should have both a PvE AND a PvP method of attainment and players should be able to level via PvP if they wish to. Every zone should have both PvP and PvE instances. Then absolutely everyone can be happy. More $$ for ZOS!

@DaveMoeDee, I do top level writs everyday on ONE character......

I have 2 full sets of Gold VR16 gear and probably enough silk, leather and ingots to make two more sets.

I save my surveys up for around 7 days and then do a morning of collecting........

Importantly whilst I am collecting I harvest every node I see, both VR15-16 and VR14......

Remember top level writs usually require making ONE VR15 piece and 2-4 VR14 pieces.

As for IC, I am a PVE person in general BUT I love the place, I get ganked regularly, however the other day I completed several solo kills of other players........

    A first for me.....

    Man it felt GOOD!!!

I just have to remember ''they're behind you''!! >:)

    Edit:- Actually VR9 pieces not VR14 :)

Listen I've played IC as low level characters in veteran campaigns with extremely poor gear and done fine. I've played on characters in white non-set gear in IC and done fine. You'll obviously perform better if you have ironed out your pvp build, wearing legendery equipment, and all the best set bonuses and gear for your particular playstyle/build. I realize that pvp is not your thing, but I'm sorry its a little unfair to expect PVP players to not play the game they're signed up for because you decided to step on their domain. You don't really need the skillpoints or the achievements. The pve content is good and if you roll with a good community of players (Pve/PVP) through IC I think you can have fun win or lose. Don't get so caught up in the losses. Everyone who pvp's loses sometimes, including and especially the great players. You get better by experimentation, and the really good players are always refining their character and their skills. You might beat them one day because they're trying something out they're not accustomed to, or testing a build idea which may or may not be good (for them). Have fun with it, and if you deal with someone who has a sour attitude, just let their words go in one ear and out the other.

I'm going to give you a personal example from last night. I logged in briefly last night to pick up hireling mail, and I had a pvp buddy ask me to help him out. I told him 'sure I have an hour I can kill' and proceeded to join him in taking resources and keeps. We had a small group of 3 on DC-EU-BWB and we were running up against 4 yellows. The fight started to grow as we kept plowing down the wall, and we'd get wiped, then we'd wipe their team, but it dragged on for a bit. Their team started to grow, and then our team started to grow. It was back and forth and a long drag out battle. When we finally made it inside the keep, there was one AD guy left, and he did a great job using the npc's to his advantage to take on our little 4 man group (at that point). We eventually had a victory. Then the guy decided to send me some insulting PM about how terrible we were for 7v1-ing him. That may have been true at one point in the fight (the very end) but to be fair we were dealing with his fire ballista/meatbag and all the npc's around him. Also to be fair it isn't our fault his yellow buddies quit showing up. The reality is I didn't care what he had to say, and I had a good fight and a good time. Other people I know would have been very upset by the nonsense this guy was spouting. My biggest suggestion to anyone in pvp is don't let successes overly puff up your pride, and don't let your identity be consumed with victory. I go out there to win, but mostly I go out there to have fun and do my best.

I'd like to add we then went on to run up against a team of lvl 48-49's EP and they were really beating us like a drum at their resource. It was good battles and we made some kills, but they outgunned us, and I have no problem with that. Just have fun with your fights, and be loyal to the faction your character is on. Expect failure. Welcome it. Learn from it. Learn to admire the skill of other players, and try to replicate it where possible. These are healthy ways to pvp, and honestly lead to more wins for yourself.

I don't do PvP either, but, as I said, sometimes it's fun just to get even.

I'm not going to give up on IC just because I don't care for PvP. There are plenty of PvE oppportunities.

IC needs some work. The zone is really packed more with PvE than PvP, but the PvP there is pretty much only the opportunistic kind that targets players who aren't PvPers. The 2 exceptions are the occasional duel, and the rapid respawn fights that supposedly still happen on console.

My advice, keep as close to 0 stones on you as you can, and bank often. Do the bare minimum killing to complete quests, and use the big wandering bosses for blood ports. Go to your guild when you need a group to complete something. You can make over 1000 TV a day doing this, while at the same time leaving next to nothing for others to take.

A little slower than what some are pulling in, but at your level how many were you actually gaining? Plus the more players who adopt this approach, the less profitable ganking becomes.

I don't have any v16 gear yet, but I'm wondering about the math on writs. Do surveys drop frequently enough to make up for the cost of that one piece v15 piece? I guess I'll try one or two tonight.

there is an easy solution, I also play 99 % of the time PVE, no PVP and when I want to go farm into IC, I choose the campaign with at least two stripes of my faction and max 1 stripe of enemy factions (you know there are color stripes indicating how many players are in the campaign, right?). then also helps, when I join a group of at least 2 - 3 players, for case of accidental gankers. but this worked everytime for me.

Dont think you realise The Imperial City is a warzone. You SHOULDN'T be able to just walk around the same way you do in Stormhaven or where ever else.

There are 3 alliances, a daedric prince and the imperials all fighting for it and you just want to talk around and do PVE activities in it.

    No.

No matter how much you want IC to be pve, it will always be pvp. So the solution and the trick here, is to get to know the city and sewer well enough to do safe pve. That include where to farm, when to farm and when to go back and bank your stones.
You can use mages guild skill, the one that converts health into magicka for more easily suicide on mobs, then you just release. Farm in empty districts, an empty campaign and on a time on the day where no one is around. Sunday 12pm is not a good time.
