As a Templar, I would like to thank Eric Wrobel for giving me a house to live in.

It pretty easy to fix templar house, not needed of pvp treatment already, just dk treatment: scales-like defense - so enemies will be forced to come into my house, aoe cc/roots - so my house will become their prison.

If they want Templars to be more tanky have cleansing ritual give us immunity to CC while inside. If I couldn't be stunned, rooted, knocked back/down or feared while I was receiving extra heals from puncturing sweeps from being inside the circle I'd definitely be able to hold my own against anyone trying to melee me. Add in reflects from total dark and defensive stance with a buffed Dark Flare along with the occasional BOL and I could fight Sorcs trying to frag me from outside the house. Then there would just be the BS of focused aim spammers to deal with, honestly being able to reflect ranged physical attacks with total dark will be useless if they can hit you from nearly twice as far as you can cast it on them.

"Templar play very differently of "I'm more about putting down areas of protection and I want to stand in these, and like this is, this is sort of like my house and if you come into my house it's gonna be bad for you" -Eric Wrobel

Hey guys, Eric Wrobel wants us to protect our house. He wants us to cast our channeled focus and purifying ritual and stand still. Wrobel basically said that all of Cyrodil is our house. So once we drop our non-mobile abilities we lay claim that where ever we stand it is now our house. Who cares if the rest of our group is out of healing range; this only means we did not invite them into our house. And you group of 24 enemies trying to 1vsX me since my group already ran off; try to blow this house down. After all, we are Templars and this is our house! So thank you Eric Wrobel for giving me a house, I always wanted one...

I dont really want to have more mobility as a Templar. I wish they would instead manage to change the game so that Templar playstyle as it is become viable. Not sure if they can though.

To me this is the most confusing part of this epic saga as well. We actually have a class with the toolkit to utilize such a playstyle within the limits of the combat mechanics in general, but Wrobel still thinks of Templars first, who do not have the toolkit.

    Yep its ***.

Templars have always been the "not best at anything" class but "can do a little of everything" "jack of all trades" swiss army knife kind of class...

In a very mobile combat game in both pve and pvp saying "stand still" is ***. Even a cookie cutter DK tank would not stand still....

I feel like if anyone successfully dares someone to come into their house its sorcs with mines. Templars need channeled focus to blow the *** up of enemies step on it.

Come into my house. I dare you.

I wanted to say something witty about nepotism and the American Dream, but honestly the more I think about it, the more right I think you are cause Wrobel does look a bit like a skinny Matt Firor. And the more I think about Nepotism, the more depressed I'm becoming and actually understanding why a system that's proven to fail every single time it's put into practice has become so popular here in the U.S.

*sighs* it really doesn't matter how much raw talent, skill, or experience you have in life anymore, you'll still be flipping burgers if you aren't related to the right people :/ at least until it becomes more cost efficient for them to mechanize that as well.

It would be great if Templars had something like that. Say an AoE CC that gave their opponents a miss chance, something that would almost blind them with flashes for a few seconds. We could even call it something like, 'Blinding Flashes'.

Templars are 'just slower... by design'
Yes, Gina actually said that (at least regarding Rushed Ceremony) right here:

In theory, there is nothing wrong with a stand your ground, this is my house, whatever kind of philosophy for a class. There are 2 fundamental problems that exist when applying this idea to Templars in their current state.

    1. The spear line is fundamentally broken. It is impossible to have a meaningful discussion about "fixing" templars until the skills work from a mechanical standpoint. This needs to be priority number one. This skill line in theory gives templars at least some mobility and range, but the skills are more likely to make your bars lock then kill an enemy. This should be the number one priority when it comes to balancing this class.

    2. Our houses need reinforced/redesigned. If you expect templars to stand their ground in their house, Rune focus needs completely redone. Think about what it does now: Major Ward, Major Resolve (one morph buffs magic regen, the other effectively buffs health regen).

    Compared to other classes:
-NBs accomplish this every time the use a shadow skill, which means they pretty much always have it.
-DKs get it from spike armor, while remaning mobile for 20 seconds.
-Sorcs get it from Lightening form and are extremely mobile with this.
-All classes can pop immovable for this effect.

There is literally no advantage to using Rune Focus for these buffs. If you want this to be viable, Major Ward and Major Resolve aint gonna cut it, not by a long shot. Some ideas for while inside the circle:

    -Snare/CC/knockdown immunity to caster
-Snare and remove stealth of enemies inside circle
-Buff stat regen by A LOT (25-50% across the board)
-Cap incoming Damage (similar to corrosive armor, but likely not as severe)
-Buff Damage dealt by the Templar inside the area
-Reduce/eliminate Enemy heals in the area

These are just some suggestions, not saying you do all at once. For this philosophy to work, it needs to be both Highly Advantages for a Templar to be in his house, AND severely Disadvantageous for anyone to come in uninvited.
