i wrote this post after reading and testing the defensive skills and passive that the templar class offer to the player that want to tank.
Here is a list of the skills that should be revised and updated to be in line with the actual game-play:
- Radiant Ward: the 6% increased value it's really too little to be noticed, this skill it's often out of the skill bar due to it's high cost and low duration. The cost should be reduced and the amount of shield given should be increased. At least on par with the similar skills of other classes.
- Empowered sweep: not much to say. This skill need to reach at least 9-10 meters.
- Radiant Aura: You give us this skill that should be usefull to rec some stat, but we can't because the stamina regen in block it's 0. I know that repentance it's a solution, but often the hardest bosses just doesn't have enough add to use in a proficient way. I think that allowing to regen stamina while in block if a buff it's up it's a good compromise. Other ways the templar tank need another source of stamina like the other class.
To be honest the templar still miss useful skills like the CCs and charge of other classes. You nerfed the healing to have it more on the line with other classes, but you didn't do the upgraded the templar tanking skills to be on par with a dk or a nb.
Plus the passives are often stuck or not working as intended. Shortly i'll try to replicate some events that cause the passives to getting stuck, penalizing the templar.
To summarize: i don't want to say that the templar can't tank, but just that if you nerf this class on the healing you should be just and upgrade it's tanking capability to bring it on par with the other classes.
