Toppling Charge Clarification - What EXACTLY will be fixed in TG update?

    where did they say it will be fixed? I would love it if it was but I thought templars were getting ignored once again in favor of another sorc hotfix

    I think overload got hotfixed because more than 8 people collectively play sorc. Only people i see playing Templar are dungeon healers and the few and the proud like me who just want to experience each class.

    You have to pay attention to Gina's words very carefully (nothing against Gina... she is just being put in an uncomfortable situation by Wrobel et al.). They are not going to fix the Global Cool Down on Toppling Charge ever, because Erik Wrobel does not think it is a problem.

    Remember a year ago when Erik said the Global Cool Down was a 'bug' and would be fixed? Within a few weeks, he had gone back on what he said an tried to convince us that this was just a feature of the skill that we should all really like... even though no other charge in the game has a Global Cool Down.

    So now they will talk about things like 'fixing' Toppling Charge, but they will never, ever give you a straight up answer about which 'bugs' specifically they mean, because that would be admitting that they do not think the Global Cool Down is a bug.

    Seriously, you have to really pay attention to what they are saying. They will never 'fix' Toppling Charge if by 'fixing' you mean removing the Global Cool Down. Why do they think it is ok for Toppling Charge to have a GCD when no other charge skill in the game needs one, and when their own players are constantly telling them it should not have a GCD? No one knows except Wrobel, and he won't ever explain why.

    i know you templars do like to moan about the lack of attention you receive. Same as the DKs. but come on, you can use the skill, just it bugs out. its a bit different from not being able to use the skill at all. need to work on your Game breaking definition me thinks

    Overload is still bugged in other ways, often it triggeres a heavy or you see no animation and have no clue whats happening. or just doesn't fire at all.

    Ive made a templar and i love it and toppling charge has yet to bug for me once. (well except bug number 2 which applies to all gap closers when they cant route to target). Just feel the salty QQ'ing isn't doing the templars rep any favors.

    From your post my opinion is you are a bad player.

    #1 should take priority because it can be absolutely crippling in a fight, and seems to happen more frequently with higher pings.

    Just added it to my bar. I had no idea it was causing this issue. Honestly thought it was lag. Definitely needs to be fixed.

    I have nothing expanding to offer on this thread except to mention that the second glitch mentioned (where your character begins to animate but stands still and doesn't execute repeatedly) seems to happen more often when your opponent is slightly uphill. To me this seems to be an issue with how the line of site is accounted for with this skill. Hopefully this can be looked into because being stuck holding a spear looking like youre having a epileptic episode while your opponent stands above you pewpewing is pretty embarrassing...

    This was posted in a different thread by @Neoauspex, it's so beautiful yet depressing.
    Hotfix - Templar style

    Updated tooltip to reflect full functionality of Toppling Charge:

    Roll the dice of the divine, giving you an 80% chance to charge with your lance to impale an enemy and, inexplicably, yourself. If casting, enemy is interrupted and stunned for 3 seconds. You are stunned for 0.25 seconds no matter what.

    If your gamble fails, your next 5 attempts to mash the button while you briskly trot up to your target will also fail. If your gamble succeeds there is a 5% chance that you gain the unique Panicked Silence skill indefinitely. While silenced you may not use any skills or attacks whatsoever but you can freely express your panic by running around until you use a potion or die.

    Always stuns enemies for 1.5 (2.4 @ Rank 4) seconds and casting targets are set off balance for 5 seconds.

    I was thinking this as well. The main problem with toppling charge is that I suspect the code on it has way too many moving parts. Ambush for NB's on the other hand is very simple. I've been saying a long time they should just make Toppling/Focused Charge a Templar Ambush because my Ambush has ALWAYS worked. The Templar Charge on the other hand has bugged out even since beta (I can recall being stuck 15 minutes during beta, on khenarthi's roost). At least Toppling charge is balanced in that it has a range, whereas ambush you can spam at any range and comes with a whole bag of debuffs/buffs/etc. I'm not saying this to complain about NB's either, but when you stack Templar up against any other class it is very hard to say there is anything truly special about Templar apart from Breath of Life and Purifying Ritual (when you factor in poorly or dangerously functioning skills).

    On the comment someone said about radiant destruction, I really wish the pbaoe cc would come back as an alternate choice. At least give something to the tanks/stamina crowd here.

    Ambush has had it moments of not working for me,i get the sound but no animation,damage,and I'm standing in place.and there is nothing blocking LOS and its withing the range it should go off.

    If they can't fix the ability why not justbmake a new one and remove the old one? It's the only gapcloser magicka templars have...

    Agreed, I love my MagPlar quite a lot in PvP and she does pack a mean punch, but only and if the skills actually work.
    Toppling Charge bug has annoyed me the most ever since I started her and it's a skill I heavily rely on aswell, so it's a real deal breaker for me. So many times pesky night blades have stealthed away on low health because toppling charge bugs out when otherwise they'd be dead. So many times I get blasted to bits from range because toppling charge bugs and i can't gapclose, it just ruined it for me.
    That's just the tip of the iceberg...

    The class has huge potential if they fixed it, and when it works - it's unstoppable in 1 vs 1 and even 1 vs X, but alas - those moments are far and few between...

    If you play on console (maybe you do play pc, just going off of the sig), it's possible that the lockout bug doesn't happen there. Reloading the ui on pc will fix the lockout bug for me, but that's usually not an option in combat.

    It happens on console as well.

    Are you being Serious or Trolling??? It's not game breaking??? I'm sorry, but PLEASE tell me how I'm meant to survive in vMA or solo PVP when I can't use ANY abilities for 30 seconds? To clarify, ANY ability means I can't heal, I can't jump, I can't block, I can't roll dodge, I can't light/heavy attack - I can do absolutely NOTHING. Tell me again how this is NOT game breaking????

    Took Toppling Charge off my bar a while ago. Withstood the bug for as long as I could, but eventually it just annoyed me too much. Still like the ability, just can't stand it lol.

    Ironically enough I found another bug that mimics the bar lock out. Haven't figured out the root cause yet though. Think it's related to dodge roll. Maybe animation cancelled dodge. Very frustrating to not be able to do anything.

    Hopefully we can get all the bugs fixed with it. Especially #1 !

    Yeah, it definitely has something to do with dodge rolling and animation cancelling. I get the bug which I believe permanently makes your character sprint until it runs out of stamina. It has something to do with animation cancelling, though.

    Not sure about everyone else but this skill is still very broken for me on ps4 after TG. Error 1 happens to me occasionally and obviously costs me the fight every time and error 2 happens pretty often which is still a pain because it is my only hard cc. Don't care if this skill gets reworked somehow, I just want my gap closer/stun to actually work. Even if the global cool down never gets fixed I can live with that, I just want the skill to land regularly.

    Most likely what they'll do is make all of these "charge" style abilities "teleport" abilities instead, like bolt escape or the nightblade's ambush/teleport strike. Those abilities work fine, but the charge effect seems to cause issues when it comes to latency and interactions on the target's end.
