Funnel health and BoL nerf.

So I read from the PTS forums that these skills only heal one additional person. Is there a reason for this other then it affects pve healing? I mean cmon, I made a nightblade magicka healer for a simple reason. Oh well time to give up the resto staff and grab a destro staff I guess

I guess they were trying to balance the morphs and make BOL comparable to HTD and Funnel comparable to swallow. So that one is not a clear choice over the other anymore... So instead of buffing HTD they simply nerf the other morph... nice.

Yeah but the whole reason for those morphs were to heal party members. I haven't seen one magicka nb in pvp use funnel. It serves no purpose. Using resto spamming mutagen wins the heal from funnel all the time. It sucks when pve healers get the nerf hammer. Well it's either mutagen spam or gtfo I guess. Magicka nb healers everywhere will feel a pinch.

Eh most magicka nbs actually ran funnel for the increased damage over swallow. The only people who really ran swallow was tanks for the mending buff and it's cheap cost with ult gain.

Haha yeah but it's a skill that's mostly used in pve. The added healing to party members allowed nbs to Slot at least 2 siphon skills on their healing bar so that they can heal effectively. It's a HoT which only affects one other person now and it doesn't offer any versatility. I feel like I'm being *funneled* into using a mutagen spam to keep my team up. Maybe if ZOS could at least provide a reason for these nerfs I would at least try to understand and modify my build as per suggestions. @ZOS_GinaBruno. Not being demanding here, just wondering if there is a justification.

The damage of the two morphs is the same. It's just whether group utility was better than 8% more self-healing. I wouldn't even recommend Swallow for tanks, since tanks are, by definition, a group role. 8% extra self-healing is peanuts compared to the amount of Funnel off-healing I could supply as a tank.

Yep. I prefer Swallow Soul on my Argonian magicka NB tank so I can stack that healing received. For group heal utility I rely on Sap Essence. The HoT from Funnel wasn't enough to do much against large burst damage from bosses anyways, while spamming Sap's direct heal was better for trash pulls/adds.

As a NB tank though, I'm more concerned about Siphoning Attacks no longer procc'ing off Twisting Path or Caltrops.

People whined about no line of sight healing. I think these nerfs are to quell those whiners.

Huh it at one point did do more than swallow. I personally like swallow for my pvp sap tank but I hear you for pve.

Still waiting on a developer to justify the funnel health nerf. Seems like a "I nerfed BoL so imma nerf your weak HoT along with it as well so people don't whine" I mean it's a weak HoT that doesn't put you over the top on dps or healing. It's just there so that you can get like a 3% more healing done and makes healing viable for nightblades

From what I can tell they nerfed most of the off healing abilities. Funnel Health was used plenty by non healers, refreshing path was also slightly nerfed and that was used by mostly no one. Those were really the only off healing abilities because most dps/tanks don't run resto staff heals or many of the templar healing abilities except for potentially BOL as a oh **** ability when running with a pug and/inexperienced healer and that was nerfed also.

Funnel deserves the nerf to be honest. It heals two to three times better then restostaff hot on my nb.

I can see BoL being nerfed as a good thing, just because I've met way too many BoL spammers that think they're healers and it's about time those players learned to heal strategically and more effectively.
As far as nerfing funnel, though, I'm pretty disappointed. It was a good HoT, and something that actually made nightblade healers viable with refreshing path and sap essence as an off healer/DPS that would double as a spell power cure buffer in groups.

At this rate I might as well just go back to Swallow Soul when TG drops. Switched back to funnel a few weeks ago for a raid but SS is much better in general for PVP and Maelstrom.
