We completed normal using six v16 template characters.
Veteran mode is a different story.

Difficulty gap between modes is really big.

This is probably a good thing. No one ran Sanctum because most groups couldn't get past the first boss. We don't want another trial that barely anyone runs. Veteran mode will cater nicely to the hardcore, leaderboard chasing guilds. Normal mode will cater to the players who haven't been able to run any new trials since AA and HelRa.

First of all, really nice job with the new Trial. Alot of Movement is included. But ye we killed the first Boss yesterday in the First Try (with Templates and 300 CP) so maybe make him a bit more difficult. Also the mechanics for the 2nd Boss are really great and enjoyable. Will try to kill him today.

It's definitely not "quite easy", it's a fine fight with fine mechanics that requires mediocre to high dps and coordinated movement. "easy" is really not a label I would put on it.

Yep I agree it could be harder. I.e. Less time to cleanse that curse, less cleanse spawns, bigger curse aoe, and --speaking as a tank-- harder hits, this boss hits like a little girl...

It didn't take a month for Manti to get killed though. We will see how long it takes before anyone gets the full clear then maybe we can compare the 2 trials this way

EDIT: Unless you're talking about normal mode, in which case its not a fair comparison. This new trial has 2 modes and I think the intention behind the normal mode was for people to be able to clear it with ease. SO did not have that intention as it was the new progression trial, similar to how Vet MoL is our newest progression trial.

How difficult did you find Veteran mode?
We love that this is a DPS race along with group coordination and mechanics. Our core raid ran 4 hours Friday and 4 hours tonight. We figured out what we feel are all the mechanics (Piller phases, spawn times, shield times, Tiger phases, etc). Tonight we consistently pushed our dps so second shield phase is occurring after 1st pillar at the 1st three pillar phase. Our main issues tonight were DC's and FPS. Best push was boss to 8% then 2 healer DC's and most of the raid FPS at 1 with 3k ping. We are skipping tomorrow and finishing first boss Monday.

    Couple things:

    1. Twice now On the second four pillar phase during explosion we had a tiger heal to 100% then we had a third four pillar phase. We assume that is a bug. If it is let me know I'll send the video

    2. We tried negate on first shield phase. It seemed to negate us as all our combat logs showed no heals getting thru and the entire raid wiped. It was pretty hysterical. We will test more if it is not intended. Best part is that after our tank sorc switched to atro and it dropped two atros again. He's back to war horn duty..lol!

    3. Pillar timing - Our healer had an oops roll dodge out from behind the pillar after 5 seconds into the boss hand to sky mechanic. She was out from behind the pillar at explosion but did not die. Early on we had deaths with peeps getting behind the pillar right at the 5 second mark but died behind the pillar at explosion. We now consider the explosion at 5 seconds instead of 6. Is this intended? If we are behind the pillar at 5 second mark we can actually roll back out and dps (if timed right) and take no explosion damage.

    4. Pillar placement - Once we had a pillar spawn half way in the wall when someone was cleansing. We couldn't get behind the pillar.

    5. We can avoid first boss and go thru the door and on to second boss.

How did the difficulty feel compared to previous Trials?
We've only cleared the first boss thus far. Other trials, HRC HM - Stack and burn, SO HM - Pretty much stack and burn, AA HM- Stationary with ability to block thru metors. As long as it's not nerfed, stacking is bad. We love the added DPS check with having to actually do the mechanics! We feel casual players will not be able to accomplish unless sub'd in with a seasoned group. Went frame by frame for spawn and boss tells. We also took boss and spawn health divided by boss timer to determine avg dps. Even if casual players figure out the mechanics or follow guides They will have to meet min DPS requirements.

Did you run into any difficulties during the Trial? If so, where or with who? Not yet, but we just started. We cleared on our third core raid night. We hear the moon/sun #2 is tough and look forward to that frame by frame analysis...lol!!

Were there any bosses or events that you particularly liked or disliked? We love that you cannot stack and burn! We are really excited and thankful for the new trial!

The 2nd Boss in Veteran is extremely fun (furthest we gotten with Template characters (*** gear and only 300 CP) is 36%.) Once we get our Characters we'll live up to the challenge. I have never had more fun in this game.

By now we spent about 20 hours wiping on the 2nd boss. But we're getting closer even with templates every day.

The first Boss in Veteran is, although very fun, not a challenge and cannot compare to the 2nd boss at all. Given the fact we will deal a LOT more damage with 500 CP and perfect gear the first boss needs a buff. As all his mechanics are Time / Health % based the easiest buff would be to increase his health somewhere in the 10-20% window.

People really shouldn't compare the first boss of MOL to the Manti in Sanctum. Think about the 2nd and 3rd boss in Sanctum - if they'd been the first boss they would've been cleared within the first few attempts just like the first boss in MOL. Manti was a damn difficult first boss on release.

Second boss is very difficult. The mechanics are great fun and require a lot of coordination. I think with our real characters, proper gear, and CP to 501 it will be doable. I think it's maybe a tad too hard for the majority of players though and is certainly a jump up from the first boss. I'd recommend making the first boss a bit tougher and the second boss a bit easier.

Both, boss nr 1 and boss nr 2 need a buff.

Boss nr 1 hits like a noodle and basically only the 30% burnphase is difficult.
Boss nr 2 is good difficulty but if we had our chars+nice ping that dude would be dead already.

so how to improve difficulty? And those difficulty improvements are not over the top, they would make the fights a lot more interesting.

    Boss nr 1.
Decrease time to get behind pillars that kills everybody who is not behind a pillar. Now you basically have time to run over the whole room to get behind a pillar, so you need no reaction time or good positioning of the boss at all.

If you want us to have more fun on this boss give us more tigers, so we actually would need a 2nd tank on this boss because of more tigers spawning which would make the fight longer, and automatically more difficult because we can dps the boss less when we have to kill the tigers.

Atm from 30% to 0 we can just ignore the tigers and execute the boss, up the HP of the boss by 20-30% so we actually have to kill the tigers that spawn afterwards, atm we just ignore those.

    Boss nr 2.

The mechanics on this boss are godlike, this is by far the most interesting fight so far in ESO, colorchanges are a real mindf***.

The only thing to improve here is that you should give the bosses like 30% more HP and limit addsspawn to 4 per side. Why? This is kind of an DPS race and the longer the fight lasts the more adds spawn. So the problem is...if you have super fast dps this bossfight will not get hard because you can nuke down the bosses pretty fast which means you have to deal with a lot less adds than ppl with low dps.

So up the HP of the bosses by 30% and limit the max spawnable adds per side to 4. 4 Adds on each side is a good number and makes the fight really interesting. Everything past 4 adds per side is Armageddon.

    @Seiffer
Hand shout out to the devs, this trial is A-W-E-S-O-M-O. Just up the difficulty a bit more :)
Cant give feedback to other bosses as we have a really hard time with templates+250 ping to get past the 2nd boss. Tho if we had our real chars that boss would prolly be dead already. So buff bosses!

I disagree with the statement that the first boss needs more health. Another DPS race is just poor design. I'd rather see faster and more punishing mechanics than just more health, which is not going to make the boss more difficult, it is only going to lock people out because their damage is too low.

    - Less time to cleanse the curse
    - Less platforms to cleanse on
    - Bigger AoE at curse initiation
    - Harder physical hits
    - Bigger shield phase aoe

@ZOS Remeber that you can put the bosses Live even though they are unkillable if you buff them like @Alcast suggested and then nerf their HP by 5% every month or every few weeks until somebody cleared it and then stop nerfing. That would make for a really good progression race and crazy competition between the top guilds while later making the content also available for the majority of the playerbase. Everyone should be happy.

Just tried it today with some others. I'm not some crazy hardcore minmax raider, just an average player (still can't do vMA lol), so here's my view:

How difficult did you find Normal mode?
Harder than AA and HRC for sure. First few trash fights felt pretty long and drawn out, the elite mobs had over 1 mill health each and gratuitously spammed lots of AOEs. Reminded me of the original 5 minute trash pull in SO before the Mantikora. Kinda tedious tbh.

How difficult did you find Veteran mode?
    Didn't do it.

How did the difficulty feel compared to previous Trials?
Harder than AA and HRC, first boss seems easier than SO's mantikora in that it's more mechanics based and less numbers intensive (at first at least). Trash seems even more tedious than SO's.

Did you run into any difficulties during the Trial? If so, where or with who?
The first boss is a DPS race in disguise. I'm fine with complicated mechanics but I hate DPS races.

Were there any bosses or events that you particularly liked or disliked?
First boss is a DPS race with a hard enrage (he casts the blast without giving any pillars if you take too long). As mentioned I don't like DPS races (Varlariel I'm looking at you). I liked the positioning needed, the need to cleanse in time, avoiding LOS with the blast etc. The mechanics needed you to react, instead of just stacking and burning. That was fun for me.

Some individual attack feedback for the first boss:
Raging Cleave needs a red cone indicator.
Thunderous Impact animation is kinda floaty, no sense of impact since the boss seems to be able to move even when slamming his hammer on the ground. Make the boss stand still and add a red circle to indicate the AOE. This attack also seems to do more damage if he absorbs more blue orbs, is this intended?
Grip of Lorkhaj needs more to indicate that you're affected. The screen changing blue is quite subtle, suggest adding an effect to the player character to indicate the effect.
The blue orbs seem to home in on characters and don't seem to disappear, so is it inevitable that he's going to absorb them and power himself up? Kinda pointless to avoid them if that's the case.

Did you complete the Trial? If so, was it on Normal or Veteran mode?
No. We couldn't get past first boss.

Were you pleased with the items you received?
Items even from trash were V14, which is kinda stupid.

Have you previously played through any Trials, or is this your first experience?
Completed AA, HRC and SO on normal mode way back when they were first released for the sake of completion, never touched a trial since.

As this is the first time a Trial is scaling to the group leader, how did the scaling feel in both Normal and Veteran modes?
    Didn't do scaling.

Were you able to easily find the Trial so you could enter?
Kinda. The map marker needs to be more conspicuous in map view.

Do you have any other general feedback?
    1. Reduce the health of mobs, both trash and bosses. The current amount feels quite damage spongey to me, which I feel is quite tedious. Damage seems ok.
    2. Remove any hard enrages from both normal and vet.
    3. Increase the need for things like interrupting, blocking and CC during the fights. Both the trash and the bosses hardly have any trick to it other than "avoid the AOE spam and DPS them down". I still remember how the original trials had mobs that you had to interrupt or block if not they could really hurt. Now the trash is CC immune and just spams AOEs. Meh. The red glow of AOEs also blends in with the reddish clay soil ground in the trial, making it hard to see.

KFB downed the first boss in vMOL on Friday evening. Had a Blast the trial is a lot of fun!

    1. As others have mentioned, hiding behind pillars was often buggy and people would die when reaching the pillar in the last few seconds even if they were behind it. We had a pillar spawn almost entirely in a wall too.
    2. I enjoyed the vet difficulty. The mixture of dps race (shield) and mechanics (pillars/cats) is a nice change of pace.
    3. As of now we died too much to receive any vitality bonus, so I'm hesitant to say buff the difficulty. With that said, after a few more runs that may no longer be an issue and I may be onboard with an increase to difficulty.
    4. It's hard to make a evaluation of the trash with all the crashes we were having, but when everyone was there, it felt doable without deaths with practise. The DCs of a healer or a tank at the wrong time was all it took for the entire raid to wipe. And it happened more often than not, so tough to say yet again how the trash tuning is atm.
    5. The snare/negate from the sun-eaters may be a little excessive, but were still evaluating.

That's it for now...Thanks to the Devs for tuning in!

KFB is planning to make attempts at vMOL Boss 2 this evening.

Ran it last night with a group of about 7-8 Players (so yes I know it would have appeared far more difficult to us..)

How difficult did you find Normal mode? - Didn't Play Normal so can't comment.

How difficult did you find Veteran mode?
Difficult. That though I think is a combination of three things that have already been mentioned. The fact we only had 7-8 players (one tank and one healer), the 300CP allocation from the default build template (I only have around 300CP on live as well so it was a good comparison), and inexperience with this fight and lack of knowledge of the initial mechanics.

How did the difficulty feel compared to previous Trials?
Moreso. Except Mantikora. You've scarred me for life with that.

Did you run into any difficulties during the Trial? If so, where or with who? The biggest gripe I had was with a particular mechanic on Zhaj'hassa, the snare applied with the Curse DOT he applies (Grip of Lorkhaj). More on that in the next paragraph. There was also some trouble we were having with the pillars. I found myself trapped and snared on one at one point (couldnt CC break, or dodge roll out) in between two pillars. There was two or three instances as well where i would duck behind a pillar then a second later the Insta Kill AOE would burst and I'd still get wiped.

Were there any bosses or events that you particularly liked or disliked? We only ended up taking on Zhaj'hassa. Honestly despite the fact we couldn't get him below 50% with 7-8 of us, and the fact he had 10 Million HP.. I still liked it. The mechanics were really good but there was something that bugged the hell out of me which was the Grip of Lorkhaj. Whilst I eventually worked out this could be purged via those blue ground runes, I think the snare that accompanied it was rather excessive as it made actually getting to a blue Cleanse portal almost impossible. This mechanic felt awkward and clunky.

The other issue I had was FTC (yes I know no support for addons) not registering the debuff visually until it was nearly too late. At least when he channels the void you can see it and you get an onscreen warning.. and this gives you time to go 'oh ***, get behind a pillar'. The problem I found was the screen going blue did not neccessarily always mean I had the curse on me so it wasn't a great indicator. Sometimes I would hang around the edge of the arena just to be near the portals just in case when the screen went blue, but sometimes I would end up being fine. This was the one mechanic that really was throwing me. and more needs to be done to indicate you are affected as mentioned above.

Did you complete the Trial? If so, was it on Normal or Veteran mode? No incomplete.

Were you pleased with the items you received? Didnt clear boss so can't comment but trash mob drops were pitiful.

Have you previously played through any Trials, or is this your first experience? I've run SO and AA once or twice. Not a big trial player, but do want to play more.

As this is the first time a Trial is scaling to the group leader, how did the scaling feel in both Normal and Veteran modes?
I think the scaling was fine as we were all V16 anyway.

Were you able to easily find the Trial so you could enter? I just ported to the group leader, but I did have a blonde moment when I got out of the trial and was looking for it on the map, then i realised it was in Rawl..

Do you have any other general feedback?

There's been calls in this thread to make him tougher, i disagree with that. He's fine the way he is I think. The other thing is keeping constant DPS with this guy was quite tough.. I had difficulty landing anything more than 10-15k single target constant on him (wheras Vet Dungeons I'd land 25-30k). I don't think it was a L2P issue, but a combination of not finding the right balance with new skill rebalancing and Zhaj'hassa having insane resist values. The snare applied with Grip of Lorkhaj needs to be reduced.. it's too OP. The other thing thats been mentioned is the Trash mobs take way too long to eliminate and seemed like mini-bosses themselves at times. Also for the effort, the gear they drop is just substandard.

This is normal mode. First Boss has ~44million HP in vetmode.

For the sixth day in a row Hodor is going to attempt killing the second boss of vMoL.

This evening we're looking to get him lower than ever before!

    @EgoRush
Will you create a new guild after you disbanded? And where can I apply?
