    we cleared the first boss with 7 ppl on normal v16.
    but we hadn't enoguh time to continue...

    so my thoughts was:
    jeah...scale the normal mode up, because with full raid it could be to easy

    I agree. After all the downloads we started late and cleared up to second boss with 6 peeps last night. Tank, three templars, overload sorc & magicka NB.

    • How difficult did you find Normal mode?
    • How difficult did you find Veteran mode?

    We have completed this Trial at normal V16 mode with 8 PPL with template characters. It's hard enough for normal.

    The trial is great thus far, 29% first boss, but the disconnects from Europe are killing, really.

    We cleared the normal mode. I can understand that this version of the trial can be hard for the casual player base. However, I have no idea what the last boss does. To be honest if I have to describe that fight... well... "it just died". I haven't got the slightest idea of its mechanics. It simply just died. That boss deserves a big buff. An end boss should be difficult, even in the normal mode.

    Thanks for the feedback! We are definitely taking a look at that fight in normal to see if we can't convey the mechanics in the fight better without tweaking the difficulty too much.

    The normal seems good scaled. It will be most likely challenging enough for the more casual playerbase.

    However, the last boss is weird. He just dies. He didn't do anything meaningful it seemed. While the second boss (the double boss) was so much more of a mechanic exploration and coordination, which is pretty good imo.
    I'd suggest taking a look at the last boss difficulty. Currently, it's too easy even for normal mode.

    The veteran however.. That one is tough. Strong trashpacks, strong (first) boss, mechanics to avoid and regard. Well done so far!

    2nd boss is a lot of fun and will definitely be tough. Fingers crossed for no dps race mechanic. All in all other than the crashes very well done zos.

    I completed the trial on normal and attempted it on vet mode.

    1. Boss has interessting mechanics that require you to watch your movement and positioning. On normal mode his health could be increased a bit. We were able to just burn him (using template characters with high latency) before the 5th pillar appeared, so to encourage people to learn the mechanics on normal mode, he should stay alive long enough to do his explosion at least once.
    2. Boss is my favourite so far. You need good group coordination to manage it and from what I saw so far, there's no dps race included.
    3. Boss was kind of boring (at least on normal). We got an archievement for killing him in less than 2 cycles, but it was quite easy to kill him within less then half a circle. So many groups will most likely not get to see what happens after a full cycle.
    Trash fights required some coordination aswell, especially fights where you had multiple mages or an ogre healer (though I think those ogre groups can be dealt with in a much smoother way than we did)

    All in all I like the trial, but I really hope that the second half (after the second boss) will have a lot more mechanics on vet mode than it has on normal.
    Also we crashed a lot during the trial, but I assume this is just a pts issue and will hopefully not transfer to the live servers.

    * Skipped Normal mode sorry, though we had a second group clear it while we were busy wiping on the first boss in Veteran.
    * Decent level of difficulty. I think with character copy and 501 CP the first boss will be a lot easier (compare how clean L2P's kill is to ours :P) the mechanics are fun and unique though. I'm still wracking my brain on exactly how some things work.
    * Certainly more difficult than all the other trials, but it's hard to compare how much more difficult when we're using less-than-optimal gear on CP-restricted characters.
    * We had a lot of disconnects and crashes - in particular when the curse on the first boss hits you, that often caused people to crash (playing from EU). That silencing AoE from the Sun Worship mobs is brutal, but with smart positioning and multiple healers it's not a problem. Also for first boss, sometimes the pillars didn't protect people - we'd be clearly right behind it and would still die (even with people on teamspeak saying we should've been safe). This might be lag from EU perhaps? It also seemed if you got behind the pillar after the boss fires the pulse but before the pulse hits you that you'd still die.
    * Can only talk of the first boss. Loving the fight so far. Anti-stack, requires dynamic movement. I want to keep hammering at him until I figure out exactly how each mechanic works.
    * No, we wiped on the waves of trash after the first boss and called it a night.
    * I received an epic set piece, I can't remember which. Started with an A I think. *Shrug* too early to decide on this yet. Provided I get some jewellery I'll be happy!
    * Hodor has a lot of experience with trials and we were running with largely a core group that currently has the world records in all trials. We mixed up the group as people needed to sleep, but I'd say we all have high experience.
    * The scaling is a little buggy when you first enter. We had difficulty with the group tool saying we're on Veteran, then when we entered it would be normal. We had to disband the group, have everyone change to Veteran, reform the group, then enter and it seemed fine.
    * Easy to find the trial.
    * I'll add more feedback once we get further through the trial. So far so good though! Lots of fun!

    Another remark from me on the loot of the last boss in normal mode.

    I remember being said that the last boss on normal DOES drop the new sets, i.e. lunar bastion, moondancer etc.

    We completed normal and all got ebon/savior/wormcult loot from the last boss. A bug? A misunderstanding? An unfortunate series of events? A coincidence? Magic?

    I can confirm from the Hodor group that cleared normal that the only items I saw linked were Ebon/Savior/Worm Cult too. Though one was an Ebon ring :D I love that there will be Worm Cult jewellery!

    Pah you're a tank, you use it :P but yes, it could be. How much is the bonus? Could be safely have DDs running mono-stat food for max magicka/stamina and have enough health to survive in certain trials thanks to Ebon being worn by the tank? As for Worm Cult, this won't be of much use once we're on our CP-capped chars - resources aren't much of an issue really then.

    •How difficult did you find Normal mode?
    - The difficulty all around was good for Normal. The last boss could be tuned up a little bit. Sustaining resources with a high damage build in the longer trash "events" was difficult.

    •How difficult did you find Veteran mode?
    - We attempted once with a mixed group, and a lot of joking around. Not enough to form any useful opinion. Although, the trash was tough on the first look, wiped a few times.

    •How did the difficulty feel compared to previous Trials?
    - The normal trash in MOL feels like the trash SO. The trash in vMOL was much more difficult and required significant movement. I can give more feedback on this as we do more vMOL attempts.

    •Did you run into any difficulties during the Trial? If so, where or with who?
    - Since we did it on Normal, not really. As soon as we saw the mechanics it was apparent what needed to happen and we executed.

    •Were there any bosses or events that you particularly liked or disliked?
    - I love the twins! The mechanic there is very cool and I expect it to be challenging on vet.
    - The last boss on Normal is "burnable". I've got 3 clears on normal now and even the "sub-optimal" groups could burn and ignore the mechanic. I was in two groups where I didn't even see the last boss mechs. It wasn't until the third group where I saw some of the additional stuff like the cats spawning or even the boss channeling the orb in the middle.

    •Did you complete the Trial? If so, was it on Normal or Veteran mode?
    - Yes, normal, v16. 3 clears.

    •Were you pleased with the items you received?
    - I did not receive anything I thought I would use, so not really.

    •Have you previously played through any Trials, or is this your first experience?
    - I've got a lot trials experience, although my core KFB team has not attempted yet. The first two clears were a mix of experienced raiding guilds (little synergy in the group though). The 3rd was with a casual team that I joined last minute.

    •As this is the first time a Trial is scaling to the group leader, how did the scaling feel in both Normal and Veteran modes?
    - We didn't scale. Both normal and vet attempts were at v16.

    •Were you able to easily find the Trial so you could enter?
    - Yes

    •Do you have any other general feedback?
    - I'm assuming it's the pts server but every group I was in had crashes every 15 minutes, high ping and low framerates. The trial is really engaging, you and the team did a great job @ZOS_Finn. Can't wait to get in there and down the first boss and see the twins on vet!

    - We had a tough time changing the trial mode from normal to vet and back again. Having to split group and all twelve ppl individually set the trial mode before forming was not intuitive.

    On the first boss on vet, there were quite a few instances where people were behind the pillars and still died during the AoE blast. I think it might just be an issue of time, because they got there just a second or 2 before he did the blast, but they were still there in time for the blast. I don't know when it decides whether or not you are behind the pillars, but it seems a bit off to me.

    We are taking a look at this now. Its a razor's edge balance of making normal accessible and communicating the mechanics you will see in Veteran without making them too punishing. I think we may have made it a little too easy so we will revisit this soon and see if we can't spice it up for everyone :smiley:

    We are looking to change that Achievement to be Veteran only. It's probably a bit too easy to get this on Normal.

    Thanks for this report. We are running performance tests to try and track down the issues people are seeing.
    * The scaling is a little buggy when you first enter. We had difficulty with the group tool saying we're on Veteran, then when we entered it would be normal. We had to disband the group, have everyone change to Veteran, reform the group, then enter and it seemed fine.

    This is a bug we were able to track down and squash but it won't make it in the next PTS push. We will fix it as soon as possible and definitely before it goes live.

    Well to comment on that in particular, people do need to realise that we are currently testing and not playing live content.

      Yes: Normal mode.

      ~ No, because i dont like the fact, that there arent good tank-sets. (Will write something about it in other thread)

      I thought it was too easy on normal mode. And the mechanics from the last boss was not enabled. I was expecting to see his HP raise again to 100%... was a bit sad, that it was execute phase like "The Mage".

    Comments from the first boss in vet mode. We went in last night for our first attempt and had an absolute blast. We learned a lot and are confident we will have it down Monday when we raid next. That said, I absolutely LOVE this boss fight. Tons of room for tweaks from a raid optimization standpoint. I keep thinking of new ways we can do this better. Having a DPS check in the first fight of course forces only the strong guilds to have even a remote chance at completing it. It's nice right now since only half a dozen guilds will end up completing it.. and I foresee other guilds downing it over the coming months due to the normal growth ratio the player base experiences over time.

    I want to note for the record that I think it was VERY smart of ZOS to make this dungeon completable within the 1 month PTS window. That is unless the final boss is absolute beast mode (remains to be seen).Those dedicated enough to actually run a few times a week look like they have the serious possibility of downing the whole trial. This is epic for the community. Why? Because eventually it will need to be on farm so that we can start getting the gear sets we need to improve. Taking 6 months+ on average for the really good (but not elite) guilds to complete end game content is just way too long.

    Adding death penalties again makes the competition WAY better. It focuses away from hoarding strategy and having some niche prostrat to focusing more on raid awareness and other l2p components that separate the good from the elite. This is awesome. You guys are killing it here.

    Ok. We've got a problem.

    We need to find a lot of Resins and Tempering Alloys at least for weapons from our US friends. The DPS is too low with purple staff we have on templates.

    Our best try of 1st boss in Veteran mode was at about 8 min and boss had 38% of HP at this point and killed us with his Final Blast. I'm sure, that at least with Gold weapons we will kill him. Maybe we would manage to kill him even with purple, but it's a bit pointless when I perfectly know that my main character has 7k more Magica, at least 400 more SPD and 200 more CP.

    Normal mode:
    1. The difficulty is fine I think. Was quite easy for us to figure out the mechanics of the first two bosses and cleared it pretty fast. I think that it is easy for groups that run together for some time, but will be hard for newcomers to trials. Good work there.
    2. I completely agree with @Woeler about the last boss. Nobody in our group (12 players) understood what was going on. Completely weird mechanics. Sometimes people died unexpected, sometimes people survived, although it looked like they were supposed to die. I have no clue, what the boss does.
    3. In normal mode I also got no piece of the new trial gear. I think it was supposed to drop at least at the final boss, but I got a ring of hircine there.

    Veteran mode:
    I have only seen the first boss so far, so I can't give feedback about the other bosses. Like all other EU groups we were running with template chars.
    1. Great. Stepping into the room of the first boss and seeing 41 million health. Wow. Good challenge. I love it.
    2. With the template chars our DPS was not as good as on live servers, so that may be a reason for our failures, but we died more than once at ~55-60% boss health, because there were no prisms left to hide behind. I assume this is an enrage mechanic, but killing this boss in this timeframe is quite hard and may be impossible for most groups. As said: we will see how things go with our character copys from live server, but with cleansing, hiding and killing adds, pulling 20k+ DPS on this boss will be a real challenge for me. Note: I am not asking for a nerf.
    3. As others have said: sometimes people died even though they were hiding behind one of the pillars. Should definitely take a look into this.
