Making Mage DK's Worse? Whyyyyy

"Sea of Flames (Inferno morph): This morph has been renamed to Cauterize, and will now summon an Aura of Cauterizing Flames, launching a fireball at an ally to heal them instead of an enemy to damage them."

Why the hell is this necessary? I rely on this ability on my Mage DK to give the spell critical AND launch a fireball at enemies to trigger Skoria. Why are you doin this to me maaaan!

    shouldnt that actually be good? I mean u never had any controle before and were hammerlike only 1 skill... overload.

    I understand the frustration, but this is an awesome change for DK healers. This, and the improvements to stonefist look very promising.

    Not when you are trying to use them to their full potential.. keeping the curse up, shields, resummoning, etc..

    Technically they didn't change much except removing the toggle and making it cast; and the fireball from FOO morph is direct dmg not DOT and buffed its dmg 15%.

    Flames of oblivion is way better for magicka dps this patch then it used to be, it crits and it crits hard. Difference is you only need it on one bar now and use inner light on both bars for the crit/magicka and just bring flames of oblivion into your normal dps dot rotation. Just been doing a little testing with it and I forsee this skill being high on any mage dk's dps log.

    They need to change to sea of flames morph, why would anyone use this as a heal, single target every 5 seconds...

    Sea of flames needs to be the magicka dps morph, give it a dots? Make it AOE, give it a snare do something apart from a terrible useless heal no one is ever going to use.

    Sea of flames needs to be the magicka dps morph, give it a dots? Make it AOE, give it a snare do something apart from a terrible useless heal no one is ever going to use.

    I'm going to use it now and forever on my DK healer. Adding an additional heal to DKs brings forth a lot of additional utility for such a build. Combined with the changes to stonefist, I think DK healers will see an added benefit to both utility and healing potential, which I strongly support.

    Yeah because dk's (with a lot of passives for 'tanking') are now mean't to me healer while templars get their healing nerfed.

    Erm... Sea of Flames has always been useless for magicka DKs. All they're doing is turning a useless morph that few people bothered to take and turning it into something useful for healer DKs.

    Currently on Live, I used unmorphed Inferno. Flames of Oblivion adds Weapons Crit, which is useless for a magicka DK. Sea of Flames adds a tiny, inconsequential amount of magic return if that ability was the killing blow (which is very uncommon in my experience). For a magicka DK, Sea of Flames is just as useless as Flames of Oblivion. Neither morph is worth the time to grab three skyshards. Actually, a lot of magicka DKs just use FoO because there are some stamina abilities (notably, Rearming Trap for its Minor Force buff) that magicka DKs would want to cast.

    Keep in mind that, on live, the damage DoT is the exact same for FoO, SoF, and for unmorphed Inferno, so it's always been about what (mostly useless) extra get you from FoO and SoF.
