I checked out the balance changes new gear descriptions, so, OK. Then I went to an Outlaw Refuge. Got a quest for heist that eventually leads you to Abah's Landing. The heist was dull, and there was one place where I couldn't go undetected without being a Nightblade or using an invisibility potion, and I wasted a lot of time searching and waiting for a workaround.
When I got to Abah's landing I found quest givers for the public dungeons and new trials, but I was playing solo so I passed. After reaching the Thieve's Guild hideout and joining up, two quests were available there. One was retrieving an item from one of the public dungeons, the other was stealing some linens. Basically, just roam around the city searching random containers.
That's it.
There's nothing else to do.

- Mimic stones are very useful. Will be interested to see what the price on these are. For those of you who don't know, mimic stones are a universal style material you can purchase from the crown store. So you want to craft that Merc armour but have no laurels? No worries, a mimic stone will serve you just as well.

Band Camp statements: To state "But this one time I saw X doing X... so that justifies X" Refers to the Band camp statement.

What needs to be done is the release of an actual expansion, not more DLC with some new styles, mounts, and gimmicky skill line.
The expansion should include:
1) 3-5 new Trials, or other Raid-type group exercises.
2) New dungeons, with an overhaul of reasons to run them besides Undaunted dailies. Think Dungeon Marks or something to trade for set gear that gains access to the lower tiered raids.
3) Addition of 1-2 new classes, with appropriate skill lines.
4) Guild-based progression system with a reason to remain loyal to one due to perks (besides guild trader access). Conversely, strip the ability to be in 5 at once because its kinda ridiculous. Some agree, some don't, but it's my two cents.
5) Scrap RNG in place of an above mentioned Dungeon Mark system to acquire the gear needed.
6) Force Group Finder tool to queue your class role based on your setup. Not a tank? Good. Can't queue as one.
7) PvP enhancement for 5v5s, 3v3s, 2v2s, and 1v1s. Capture the flag, Capture Resource runs, Small Skirmish runs. Cyrodiil is still an option, but simply more options for PvP involvement.
8) Abolish stealth on all classes except NBs. No reason a DK in heavy armor should be able to hide in plain site, in the middle of a field, gleaming in the sunlight. Technically speaking, I know "dude it's not supposed to be real life!", but why any non-stealth class can hide at all is beyond me. Yeah, I get it. ES games allow you to do whatever and armor/race plays a role in how hidden you are, but still.. we are talking about an MMO, not a single player game. Or are we?
But, no. Camels are cool too.

But that's the problem. I just ran past everyone, too. But when you get to the next main quest for the guild, some of the peasants will attack you if you are spotted. And the bounties for trespassing add up. Avoiding the guards for the next quest is much harder. And if they spot you, unlike the intro quest, they won't lose aggro or do baby damage. You will die. Conveniently there were zero hiding spots for that next quest while you actually needed to sneak to the quest marker. I just ended up running though the second half and dying 4-5 times so I could respawn and keep moving to finish the quest. Not fun. Not exciting. Not rewarding. I just wanted to get the completion. On my NB, I would have gone through each time completely undetected.lordrichter wrote: »tinythinker wrote: »My reaction to the Thieve's Guild DLC?

Well, part of your problem was that you were over thinking the introduction heist. I went through it with a level 10 DK wearing heavy armor. Not even close to being a stealth character. Killed no one, but did collect a small trespassing bounty. Did not need to use the barrels. The bounty was obtained by running past the peasants. I avoided all guards and lantern folk by just being aware of them and looking over my shoulder a lot.
I doubt that anyone will encounter too much difficulty on that heist unless they try a scorched earth approach.
