Are you excited for the thieves guild dlc?

A few of my characters are thieves so I trust this DLC will be a good experience for them. Combined with the assistants and the changes to the base game (though I have to wait a bit to see how they really react) and I think this DLC is going to be one of the ones I'm going to be most excited about buying.

I will buy it. But I'm not interested to become a thief. It's the same as Dark Brotherhood.
If there is a Knights of the Eight or what, I will be very excited for that.

I'm not interested to become a vampire or werewolf too.

The Thieves Guild itself, not really. Maybe there is more than meets the eye.

The siege changes and the 64 bit client, oh yeah. Bring them on!

No. Not interested in being evil. Neither this or the next DLC hold the slightest interest for me. (The base game patch, however, should be good.) I am not going for vampire or werewolf, either. When did we become so morally ambiguous that it is okay to be an assassin, thief or monster?

Yes! More dlcs like this is what ESO needs. This is TES universe and this is what fits and will make money on ZOS. If they listen to mmomadnesspvpimgoingtothenextmmorihhtnoewshitthispfarghpfagrhhr the game will die soon.

Good for ZOS and these kind of TES dlcs.

This DLC, along with the surplus of crappy crown store items, have made me stop playing. Just don't see the point anymore. It's not fun grinding the same content (dungeons & trials) hundreds of times and never getting what you want and when you do get what you want there's literally nothing to do anymore. Don't say PvP because its as broke as PvP can get in an mmo.

Less so when I found out the unlimited crafting item bag wasn't slated for this patch.

There are so many more things, particularly core gameplay features, that should have been prioritized over this (and should be prioritized over Dark Brotherhood, and really all story/quest content), but it's not the absolute worst thing in the world.

I see this is your first Elder Scrolls game. Every full TES game since Daggerfall has included the option to join the TG, DB, and to become a werewolf or vampire.

So to answer your question, 31 August 1996 is when that happened.

    Thank you.

Also I would like to remind everybody that pretty much everything else in this game forces you into a "hero" role, with very few "evil" options.

And even with Thieves and DB, if you compare how much content we have for a "hero character" and how much content we have for a "villain character", you will see that we will still have much more content for "hero characters".
Just so that everyone knows, my Altmer still can't have black hair. About a dozen of Altmer NPCs in the game have black hair. Just saying.

    Meet my characters:
    Command: Do the thing.

Zadarri, Khajiit Fist of Thalmor: The thing was done, as commanded.
Durza gra-Maghul, Orc blacksmith: The thing was done perfectly, in the most efficient way.
Tegwen, Bosmer troublemaker: You can't prove I didn't do the thing.
Sings-Many-Songs, Argonian fisher: Sure, I'll do the thing... Eventually. Maybe.
Aerindel, Altmer stormcaller: After extensive research, I've come to the conclusion that doing the thing would be a waste of resources.
Liliel, Dunmer pyromancer: Aerindel said I shouldn't do the thing. Something about "resources".
Gyda Snowcaller, Nord cryomancer: I will find a way to do it that won't waste resources and make Aerindel proud of me.
Beatrice Leoriane, Breton vampire: I persuaded someone else into doing the thing. You are welcome, dear.
Sahima, Redguard performer: Doing the thing sounds awfully unpleasant and really not my problem.
Ellaria Valerius, Imperial priestess: I'll pray to the Eight for the thing to be done, if it is Their will.

    Aren't we all monsters?

We are all like any other animal. We will do whatever it takes to survive when the odds are putting our life at risk. You can't say you aren't a monster as you haven't been in those circumstances.

Also morals are not good or evil. All morals are is social constructs tied to a culture to have some type of protection by everyone having a strick mental reason to not harm others. If i killed someone I am not evil. I am simply killing something. Its how the world works. Things die, the stronger stay alive just a little longer just to die another day by something else.

Nirn is just not Earth - society and it's morals are much different from Earth. Take murder for example, it is perfectly fine, if you pay the fee the guards request from you, then you are free to go and your slate is clean again. in Morrowind the Morag Tong was kind of a state-licensed assassin's organisation. You got your order to kill someone and if guards wanted to arrest you, you just had to show this order and you were free to go.

Thief guild in Morrowind had it's HQ in Balmora and was as respected as fighter's and mage's guild, and so was the Morag Tong or the House of Hlaalu, which basically did Mafia business in Morrowind. With Oblivion came a change to this, thief guild got into the underground, but was still somewhat respectable, they had ideals. In Skyrim it got worse, there the TG was basically scum, it was just about coin and nothing else, and they rightfully ended up in the sewers for their lack of ideals.

But in all those games you had choice - to either go with the flow and get up the ranks in the TG and become their leader, or to infiltrate them and fight them from the inside - it does not seem that we have this choice in the upcoming DLC, unfortunately.

And thats how you rationalize being evil ;) Once we're talking conscious beings who can go 'I dont like this being done to me, perhaps I shouldnt do it to others, they must not like it either' were no longer talking about 'any other animal'. This is when good and evil come into play.

With that said... I wouldnt call fighting for survival being evil. Not helping someone when it costs you little to nothing is evil. Hurting someone for entertainment is evil. Killing for personal profit or convenience...

Hurting someone for entertainment is evil?- Really?- Then let's drop PvP in this game, because this is clearly hurting someone for entertainment; proof: complains of people being ganked in this forum, they got clearly hurt for the entertainment of others.

Good and evil are inventions by religions or moral systems, no absolutes. We are killing mass amounts of lifeforms for convenience every day - like brushing our teeth and using mouth wash - this kills mass amounts of bacteria for the pure convenience to not have bad breath and to keep our teeth for a longer time. I could as well give examples where it is bad to help someone just because you can - that english soldier who had the chance to kill A.H. in WW1 and showed mercy, he basically caused indirectly that millions had to die. You don't know if something is good or evil - just the future will tell and how this will be seen can change as well over time.

I would add that I saw a TG map somewhere here and it immediately stroke me how miniscule it is compared to Wrothgar. And do you remember how crowded Wrothgar was at the start? It will be madness with this DLC after release. That's also one of the reasons why I will first wait how the base game patch turns out, then consider buying DLC.

Not too excited, but won't hate it.

My main character and my secondary characters in roleplay are loyal to the Pact, they are soldiers and guards, and obviously will -not- help thieves to get away from the law. I take kinda serious those things, what my characters are, and what would they do in quests.

I will get the DLC, because I like TESO, I like the new zone. I still don't know with which character I'll do the main quest.

I just wish we could get some alternative quest to go against being a thief, and being able to arrest them all lol. I hope in the Dark Brotherhood DLC we get that... I really do <.<

Something I really hope they implement in the DB dlc, whenever it comes out, is that they FINALLY allow you to make/use poisons. I assume they will since there's no reason to the negative traits on alchemy ingredients, or the ravaging health/magicka/stamina etc. potions. But that would make me SOOOO happy.
