A new trial is nice I guess. So are the new quests. I guess.

The thing I am very exited about, almost extatic are the changes coming to the base game, namely class balance.

Oh, and the new collectibles tab for trophies is a nice quality of life improvement as well!

I am excited because it is relatively cheap and seems like it might add some fun ways to use the justice system, which would be nice. I am disappointed about the lack of any PVP content though.

I am partially excited, not only for the release, but (hopefully) the fixing of mechanics that come along with it. Ive noticed that the forum anger is coming back more by the day since the live episode hype is dying down. Hard to say forum members are "whiny" when there is so many broken skills and mechanics sprouting up that ZOS really doesn't seem to care about. Multiple mundus? Cmon ZOS...

i can easily say... whiny as feck

No, because the pvp justice system does not come. This has given me the joy taken on anything that has something to do with the justice system. :/

Yeah well... being a Sorcerer doesn't make me too excited as if I were a Nightblade. But that doesn't change the fact that I'm gonna do all that content.

Looked cool on ESO Live, but what I really like is their "Memento" collection that they came up with. Don't need to bank unique quest rewards from for example public dungeon quests (Fetish of Anger, Questionable Meat Sack etc), it'll be displayed in the U collection with a new tab just like mounts, pets or costumes are.
^I really got too excited when I saw that which was something I'd expect the least, lol.

I wish they added more mmo features instead of pumping out dlcs for a half finished game.

It seems as if ZOS is nickel and dime-img us for additions.
It's a very tiny plot of land with little to add similar to IC and Orsinium.

Let me suggest that of the crowns to money ratio were less, then it makes sense but as I buy the ESO plus and now have missed two months of crowns on Xbox after its supposedly fixed....this game is frustrating for bugs, problems with purchases and lag

I originally wanted to buy this DLC, but in expectation of the crafting bag, which would make me subscribe anyway, I decided to subscribe for 6 months to get access to both upcoming DLCs and the crafting bag. I will still have to buy the camel and other stuff related to those DLCs, but in a way I am a collector, if I like the artwork of the items. Some costumes I bought so far were rather disappointing ingame though, so if ZOS wants to sell me more stuff, they should put a bit more effort into it and I would prefer to see my character's shape in those costumes as well - not in one I have like no chest at all and in another one my chest seems suddenly bloated - that is what I do not like with how ZOS does these costumes, I prefer the setting I have chosen for my characters - what is the point of choosing them, when they are not respected by costumes?-

I do, because in every TES game i played as a Thieveguild member. I did join other guilds, but that was mainly so i could easily steal from them.

I look forward to it and i am glad it does not spans one zone, but you go to all other know zones also

Eh... If there was a Lawful alternative to the Thieves Guild/Dark Brotherhood (as in fighting the Assassins/Thieves, instead of joining them) I would be. However, even though this DLC has nothing for me, I can still recognize it's going to be good overall.

Thieving... yeah, not interested, and even less interested in murder, which will be next DLC. I've never done any of the Assassins Guild quest lines in any Elder Scroll game. I've done some of the Thieves Guild bits, but they never really interested me all that much. So yeah.. Thieves Guild will be a "run through once for the achievements and then forget about it" kinda deal.

Also, based on how Orsinium was, I am not expecting all that much from the Thieves Guild DLC. I found Wrotghar to be boring, uninspiring and generally fairly weak offering. The main quest was asinine, short, and utterly predictable. The characters were dull, idiotic and unmemorable. Their motivations and actions made no sense beyond moving the plot. Which was hammered a lot. All in all, Orsinium story line was just random crap to slog through and then forget.

Granted, there were few nice and interesting dungeons, and the puzzles were much better than in the base game, but mostly it was just so much more of the same ***-hum crap that the base game is chock full off. Get told to go somewhere and kill a ton of mobs, listen to some random what's his name prattle about something you will never hear from again and then get decon crap as reward. Just more of the static theme park rides and a world where no one but the player actually does anything.

Orsinium also provided yet another ridiculous grind fest. Thankfully I had no real need for any of the new gear sets, so I was able to skip most of that. I am still missing few chapters of the Ancient Orc style though, but grinding Old Orsinium is so mentally draining and unhealthy, that I will just most likely buy the missing pieces from guild traders and call it a day.

Since I didn't need the new drop-able sets I've still not done the achievements for daily delves and world bosses. Which I now find a lucky thing, since they will be adding new motifs to those drop tables with Thieves guild DLC, motifs that should have been in the Orsinium DLC at launch, and I kinda want one of them so will need to start grinding them for the motif chapters at some point.

Speaking of which... 6 new styles to be added in Thieves guild? Some of them better drop as whole books, 'cause there is no way in hell I will be grinding 84 chapters as rare drops with the RNG in this game, just to complete my style collection! That would give me just on more reason to move onto another game.

Now... having said all that, I still might buy this DLC. Because... Well, I got fed up with the ineptitude of ZOS and cancelled my subscription a few months ago, and my ESO+ membership will end in a month or so. (I had a 6 month subscription going.) So when Thieves Guild hits ,I gotta buy it if I want to play it. Well, I am not really interested in playing it, but since I will lose access to all DLC when my membership ends, and I need a place where I can farm VR16 mats, I need to buy one of the DLC. Thieves guild is the cheapest of the lot, and I like it's warm climate much more than the cold of Wrothgar, and see Abah's Landing as much more pleasant town to loiter around and do crafting writs than New Orsinium. And if I am gonna buy it, might as well slog though it's quests too. Besides I kind a want the camel, so might buy the bundle deal get both of them along with extra goodies. Besides I have ton of crowns from my sub since I've never used them for anything, so buying this DLC will not really cost me anything.

But, and that is a big one, it all depends on the base game update.

It is the only part of Thieves Guild I am interested (well that and the camel), and that has to do with the promised fixes and balance tweaks.

If they suck, as I'm kinda expecting they will, based on ZOS track record with these issues, then I will not buy it, and will say so long to ESO for an indeterminable period of time. I am so fed up with the ineptitude of ZOS and their general mismanagement of the whole game, that I am no longer willing to cut them any slack or forgive things just because this game has Elder Scrolls in it's name.

And frankly, that is the only reason I am playing this game. As a long time fan of the series, what drew me into this game was the fact that it was an Elder Scrolls game. What got me hooked was the promise that it showed at launch. Sure it was buggy and had issues with balance, but the basics where good and the combat system was fun. But then came all the nonsense that followed. The ever increasing end game goal post. First from VR10 to VR12, then to VR14 and then after repeatedly telling us that they would remove VR levels they instead introduced VR16. Each step making lot of cool sets unusable and forcing you to grind for new gear. I want VR16 Soulshine set! By the time I got VR10 version of the set it was obsolete!

And then there was the removal of softcaps, releasing the gates of hell to all sort of broken builds, one stat stacking meta, infinite this or that, and pretty much killing off viable hybrid builds. All their efforts to to deal with these issues have been unsuccessful and only resulted in heavy handed nerf batting which has introduced a slew of new issues to trouble us.

And how about the introduction of Champion Points, which was supposed to offer horizontal growth at end game - which is naturally why it makes so much sense to increase character stats vertically with each point added, right?

The Champion system was an runway train accelerating towards a wreck. And again their solution was a heavy handed cap that made no one happy. Perhaps if it had been in place when the system was introduced, then things might've played out much more nicely, but it wasn't, since that would have required someone on the team to notice what kind vertical power creep their horizontal progression system was going to introduce to the game, and that would require someone on the team to actually be competent at their job.

The biggest issues for me, however, is the way they work on balance issues. Instead of carefully tweaking the game slightly towards balance with each passing month, they instead leave people with broken game mechanics for half a year at a time and then re-invent the wheel by completely remaking the system. This in turn leads to just a new set of balance issues replacing the old set of problems. In addition everyone needs to relearn the game, rebuild their character and re-craft their gear. And this leads to lot of angry people.

It's always a roulette as to which class comes up on top of these re-shuffles. And if it's your class that's on top you will be laughing and if your class ends up at the bottom then you will be gnashing your teeth.

And for the next 6 months the forums will be flooded with new cries to nerf this and buff that and nothing really changes.

And that is the kinda nonsense I can live without. Now if I end up at the top of the stack then cool, I'll keep playing and watch as tons of people will re-roll to my class since its the new Fot...Season? If I end once again at the bottom of the stack, then I will go do something more enjoyable with my time and maybe check back at the end of the year and see if things are better.

I hope the new Thieves DLC brings some interesting Gamebalance Changes and maybe some really interesting Sets. But at the End it is only Hope, like in IC & Wrothgar before. At the Moment the Thieves DLC looks like Wrothgar II, so i am not very excited.

i'm really excited about the DLC, but i also dissapointed with no pvp portion of justice system, theres lot of ideas i read in this forum for it, i know it might be tricky to implement, and probably they need to release the DLC soon so they can stick to the schedule

but, i still hope that the pvp for justice system will come in the future
