Maelstrom Arena - Theater of Despair - Molten Destruction

Hey, I play on NA PS4 and I was attempting to do Maelstrom arena today and I am at Stage 8 and having some trouble. I don't remember in this stage Molten Destruction being on-going. It seems I died near the edge in round 3 and ever since then the Molten Destruction never stops going off in my round. Right from the start (before the immunity even goes away) Molten Destruction is following me. I try staying in the exact center and it never de-spawns (resets). I tried going to the edge to reset it then going to the center and it doesn't de-spawn. I've wiped and it starts back up right when I enter the arena.
Is this a new mechanic? It follows you the whole round no matter what? I thought I remember doing this and it would only fire off at me if I was near the edge then stop after a while. I would try re-starting my PS4 or the game but I don't want to lose my progress. I also thought the new patch was suppose to prevent it from firing at the start? I'm confused.
Any advice would be great. Thanks.

Xeniph✭✭✭✭✭Usually if you die near the edge, it bugs out. Happenes in 9 too. Sometimes it will fix itself after a death or 2, other time you can force it to stop just by going to the edge and back to the center.
If you think this is a pain, try having it bug out when you are on the platform killing those crystals in 9. Makes for a real pita dodging all that crap.Edited by Xeniph on January 29, 2016 6:51PMHere since Beta.

And the way to fix it is to go to the edge of the arena where you would normally trigger it. Once it has been triggered properly, it should stop following you to the center.Nightfighters ― PC/NA and PC/EU

film✭✭✭Okay, I went to the very edge at the start and sat there for a minute and then went back to the center. It worked. Thank you Code65536 and Xeniph for the quick replies. I thought I had tried that but I must have been too quick trying to get my DPS right. I should have posted this a lot earlier -- wasted so many lives messing around.

ZOS_Seiffer✭✭✭Thanks for the post @film! The issue you brought up has been fixed internally and will be coming in a future patch. When the fix is live, you will no longer get targeted by Molten Destruction outside of the intended range.Senior Designer | Dungeon Team0
