State of Templars?

I haven't played in about 6 months, but was thinking of getting back into it. One of the things that had me disenchanted was the sorry stat of Templars as anything other than healers. Can anyone tell me if anything has changed in the last 6 months? Specifically:

--Is the Toppling Charge GCD still in the game?
--Is Blazing Shield still nerfed in PvP?
--Have any Templar issues been addressed?
--Is there any hope for Templars on the horizon (in the form of developer talk or plans in new patches?)

Pretty much what afk ninja said.

Everythings nerfed/bugged still. Most skills are just useless. Jabs/Radiant/Toppling etc... e.g. the main skills are still bugged.

Thanks for the update.

It is as I feared. Remember a year ago, during the last rebalancing and attempt to fix Templars, when Eric Wrobel said the GCD on Toppling Charge was a bug and would be removed?

Oh, those were good times. At least we had hope.

As a Templar (mag) you can heal yourself and mates (through walls!) with a great might. Though some two\three-shot damage stops healing xD. If you can gain pleasure when you're violently blockhealing and cleansing, Templar is yours.
If it doesn't bring pleasure, Templar's gamestyle will be a suffering, coz healing is the only thing that magplar still does well.

Yes and they are nerfing the purging effect in pvp, so that's one less useful thing the templar healer can do. AFKNinja is right. I am hopeful though about the fixing of templar issues, at least they devs have started talking about it with us to some degree.

That feel when you were away from game for a long time and came back only to see everything is still same. I had that feel too not long ago.

Thanks, I guess in addition to hope, we Templars have good friends too. We don't have much else, but at least there's that.

To add to this, since you have left there has been a fast growing movement of frustrated DPS specs that are complaining that they can't kill people being healed by breath of life fast enough. Nerf inc.

It's like people aren't using that 30% healing debuff.

On any other class i manage to kill templars xD even if there spamming BoL as long as i have the debuff on them i can match my dmg to their healing , they'll eventually be able to get cc and then easy kill.

Not to mention most of us can't heal forever (BOL is pricy) and as long as we are spamming heal we are doing nothing else...

State of Templars?! Well, according to healbots - we are fine, but i still not sure if healbot=templar.

They should just remove classes altogether. Make it so that passives only apply if a skill line has an ability on the current action bar. A similar setup currently exists for weapon and armor skills, in that a passive only applies if a weapon or armor is equipped.

Removing classes would allow pvp'ers and pve'ers to have their own niches without having to shoehorn the current classes into both worlds. Balancing should be easier since participation rates would tell the developers which skill lines are underpowered. Everyone wins.

In the beginning of the game I would've agreed that that classes are stupid...but since being out and only playing templar since launch, I have grown to love what I have that other classes cannot get. Class pride is a ***
