Hundings Rage (crafted items in general) need a nerf

How about because the Creative DIrector (at the time) Paul Sage said so:
Q: In end game on ESO, will the Crafting gear be equivalent or better then dungeon drops?

A: Crafted gear of equal level and equal quality rating is always better than dropped gear from a numerical standpoint. Weapons do more damage, armor has more… armor. However, certain enchantments can only be found on drops. Crafters can always improve those items which have unique enchantments.

Briarheart- lose 297 permanent weapon damage - gain proc on 10% of critical hits 152 weapon damage. + heal guaranteed downtime due to cooldown.
Essence Theif - lose 1376 crit, ; lose 168 weapon damage; gain proc off 15% of light attacks to gain 12% damage (sounds like a lot but it isn't due to buff stacking issues)

A set that takes 0 effort to obtain and allows you to set the traits 100% to your liking, beats out sets that take 100s of hours to obtain maybe 1000s due to RNG.

There is no risk vs reward here crafted items should not be best in slot.

No thanks. I don't like PvE. Also crafted gear should matter. And I only PvP and I learned 8 traits for a reason, because crafted armor is gooed enough to PvP. Don't force PvPérs to do boring RNG dungeons.

OP made this thread because he thinks hunding's is the best stam set compared to dropped/RNG sets. People have told OP countless of times that briarheart is better. His main argument is invalid and he still continues whining.

    OP is annoying.

Asking for nerf to crafted items is literally saying "I feel so entitled that since I raid/do a lot of hardcore PVE I don't want simpletons wearing good gear".

Which basically means you're acting like a spoiled kid.

Which basically means that I'll stop right here, goodbye.

You should have to earn the BiS gear vs I want everything handed to me with no investment...which one is the spoiled kid

I'd say you are, as you want to have the best gear only available to a few people, just like a spoiled kid wants to keep their toys to themselves and not let anyone else have them.

I actually agree, I think it is dumb that BiS gear can be crafted. Crafted gear should be good but definitely not the best.. the best gear should be obtained through trials and dungeons.

Although they do need to change the RNG system. Or add a supplement to it, such as all set items when deconned give a "fragment" and so many fragments will equal a token that allows you to craft a peice of that set with whatever trait you want.

Why not a mix of both? You know, how everyone is running around right now in game. Options my friend, options keep the people happy and playing.

Crafted sets should be the quick easy sets (which it is) that you wear to go into the dungeons/trails/pvp to obtain the best in slot. Not the quick easy bis item to wear since game has been in beta,

    Go back to WoW :)

You have a game that delivers almost endless freedom of choice concerning builds and where crafting actually matters....and yes...maybe some of the dropped stamina sets are too weak or not that usefull. All I can say, the magica drop sets are actually ok and better, so heave the stamina drops, but don't touch the crafting stuff ?

...and all the wisdom people come along with, is to nerf the crafting stuff. Some more of those wise suggestions and we have the gear progression of WoW here again...a feature I was fond of in the beginning but utterly hated it in the end and was one reason to quit WoW.

In addition to the WoW gear progression feature add the unholy RNG in ESO for dropped loot instead of a token system and you will have the most frustrating MMO gaming experience ever.

    So, no thx.

"crafted items should not be best in slot"

It's debatable that they are. It's also debatable whether they should be or not.

What I don't understand is the moral outrage that the OP feels because Hunding's is a good set. What exactly is the problem? How does the gear I use (and how I got it) affect him?

I do hope he doesn't use tri-pots that he hasn't made himself... or food or drink. And that he harvested all the materials himself, and found all the recipes himself. Otherwise he'd be a hypocrite.

Stop asking for nerfs, FFS. ASK FOR IMPROVEMENTS FOR WHAT YOU FEEL IS WEAK.

Crafted items should be strong, it takes a while to study the traits and with VR16 it also takes a while to gather all materials. It's not just going to a crafting station and suddenly anyone's got best in slot gear.

lol can you imagine the outcry on the forums if the best gear was locked behind challenging content (well, not that we have any).
People are already whining enough because of the maelstrom weapons.

I like the idea of having multiple sources of strong gear. Crafted, grinded and loot from dungeons. Seems fair.

I like the idea too. It's what attracted me to ESO. I got sick of MMO's where the only good gear was locked behind raids. I have a life I can't be spending 6 hours a night learning obnoxious mechanics lol

Crafted sets should be some of the most powerful in the game. Crafting drives the economy, period.

If ZoS had even a HINT of creativity when it comes to itemization they would make tradeable materials dropped in dungeons to enhance crafting. It's a very very simple solution but ZoS simply seems to be very noob when it comes to itemization.

Like I stated above, you don't even need dropped loot in dungeons or the most "difficult content". Drop materials to enhance crafted sets that can be tradeable which would offer several benefits.

    1. Material behind the most difficult content will allow the players beating this content to enhance their gear first.
    2. That material could be sold to the rest of the population and highly sought after, which allows people who beat that content to make money and farm for those who want it.

Put simply as many others have already pointed out in this thread, crafting is only one avenue to attain loot in ESO and it comes with its own investment costs like any other. Since launch, crafted sets are designed to be competitive with dropped loot (whether all of them are or not is a separate issue, but some should be looked at for some love) and this helps reward those who invest in crafting, those who want those sets and helps drive ESO's economy.

Personally, I would much rather have ZOS take a hard look at all of the current BoP loot and whether or not this is actually healthy for the game. This area could use much improvement, removing these BoP restrictions entirely or going with a BoE restriction would allow these items to be sold/traded from anyone who loots one and expand access to these items.

1st. Crafters are people too. Don't ask for nerfs to crafters. That's rude.

2nd. Ok so you have 5 pieces of Hundings Rage on.. What about the other 7 slots for gear?!?!?!

That's right. That's where dungeon drops go. Have you seen the price of robust agility rings? Have you looted all 3 briarheart jewels in robust at v16 yet? I'd say they're pretty hard to get. Come on man.

Im deeply saddened, that after all, this is a "nerf" thread.

Because IMHO, Hunding, Julianos and for some extent, agility, willpower (and endurance, because it ended up as lackluster :) ) have issues compared to the other aviable set in the game.

The overwhelming majority of the set in-game have some "funny" bonus as the final bonus, a chance there, a chance here - and these sets have solid, static and very good bonuses, reliable ones under all circumstances.

So, dont nerf them, please, change them, to be more in line with the overall concept of the final set bonuses somehow.

Exploration is most of the fun to me and exploration is killed if there is no reward. Treasure chests, raw materials, elite bosses in the wild, and dolmens allow me a chance for lewtz.

BTW, I'm not alone in my viewpoints.

This right here^ is a big reason why many of us came to this game in the first place.
ZOS has already managed to break the Completionist Crafter in me with the silly chapter by chapter multiple RNG they've put in the game lately.
Break it too much more and it's one less reason to stay.

When you get your character to Vet ranks, holler at me again and I'll make you some more. When you get v16 though, you may want to consider mixing some crafted with dropped shoulders/helm depending on your build.

reported for personal attack..however arguing that monster sets in combo with hundings making higher dps than 9 pieces of hundings is a dumb argument. 5 piece hundings outperforms the sets I listed which are infinitely harder to get in the traits you want.
