Hundings Rage (crafted items in general) need a nerf

    Congratulations!

You have posted the most poorly thought out thread of the day. Your prize -- derision, laughter, and mockery.

It takes considerable effort to get crafters for things like 8-trait gear. And you think the reward for that should be a slap in the face? WTAF?! What the ACTUAL f#@k kind of logic is that? Punish players who play and work to achieve something over those that win the RNG lottery?

I have the most poorly thought out post with the actual stats vs incorrectly posting how many traits are needed for the gear?

    You sir win the internet,

its 6 traits not 9 - just because you don't want to utilize other players doesn't mean if you chosoe to you can have a full set of hundings rage that out performs every other high end set in the game with almost 0 time investment

    uhm 7x 2 hours, + 7x4 hourx + 7x8 hours + 7x16 hour + 7x32 hours + 7x 64 hours /3 = is no time investment oki

/zone need someone to craft hundings rage! = no time investment

What % of the population do you think have 6 traits researched on all pieces? I would say 90% of crafters (10% who are new)

Spending that time once should not make BIS gear for 2 years running at this point.

can't do that for most dropped set items?

Im trying to figure out if you are arguing with me or agreeing with me...you are now saying that the hundings is X times more overpowered because the dungeon sets are that much harder to get

I don't want hundings nerfed, but it would be nice if any of the drop sets were a viable alternative. It shouldn't be that hard for the balance team to make multiple gear sets viable at the same time.

This is not WoW...oooo I said it. Get out of here with that "earn the BiS through raiding/dungeons only," nonsense. I enjoy the difficulty of high end dungeon/raiding content myself, but it doesn't hurt my feelings to see people in good gear that took the time and effort to research traits and save up mats. It's rather childish to think that your ideal way of getting BiS gear should be the only way. Here's a question, how in the hell does this affect you in such a negative way? Does it hurt your feelings to see people getting BiS gear faster than you, or in a way you can't or simply won't do?

then let me clear it up for you my friend

    STOP ASKING FOR NERFS

why would you even want the BiS gear to be behind a huge RNG grind?

why would you want crafting to be worthless?

im trying to think of a reason for this but i honestly cant.

im not saying hundings is overpowered, i like where it is at, now if you wanted to discuss buffing drop sets, that i would be open to, i believe they should be about the same power level, but i dont think nerfing things is the way to go about it, ZoS has a very bad habit of heavy handed nerfs, this helps noone

Except it does take effort to obtain as you have to research traits to craft it. May not be as much effort as grinding your brains out in dungeons or trials, but not everyone wants to do that, so having good to decent crafting sets is a nice alternative.

This right here. It takes quite a while to get all of the traits required to even unlock Hundings Rage. Let alone have the traits to actually start making the set as powerful as it can be.
Yeah I've literally just begun to start researching so I can craft this set for myself. Now that my main is VR16, I wanted to upgrade from using the Salvation set to something that will actually be my level. I've no clue how long it will take in total, but it would be a shame if they "nerf" this set before I've even got round to creating and using it on my main character.

That's kind of what I was thinking. Or he rushed through the game and didn't bother doing any trait research. Now he is upset that he's at end game and his dropped rng sets have bad traits and nobody will craft for him.

I actually agree, I think it is dumb that BiS gear can be crafted. Crafted gear should be good but definitely not the best.. the best gear should be obtained through trials and dungeons.

Although they do need to change the RNG system. Or add a supplement to it, such as all set items when deconned give a "fragment" and so many fragments will equal a token that allows you to craft a peice of that set with whatever trait you want.

I enjoy crafting in ESO. If they nerf crafted sets then I guess all the skill points I've dumped into crafting will be wasted so I will have to re-allocate them.

    No.

Edit: So it's not just the time it takes to learn traits and farm mats. It's also the skill points required to craft high-level items.

Crafted sets should be the quick easy sets (which it is) that you wear to go into the dungeons/trails/pvp to obtain the best in slot. Not the quick easy bis item to wear since game has been in beta,

I read the title and thought it was a troll...

Some things you have said just aren't true. Hunding's rage does not outperform every other stam set in the game. Briarheart and hunding's give pretty much the same dps, but briarheart has jewelry and heals. As someone said before, briar is BiS now.

Also, why should dungeons and trials give the best gear? The monster helmet grind isn't enough for ya? It seems like you're saying that crafting requires zero effort. Grinding mats, tempers, motifs and research definitely do not require any effort or time investment.

this would be awesome, ive always said the final boss should drop something and when you get x amount of them you could then buy any desired piece from a vendor,

well why not expand on that and make this a crafting item, you kill the final boss of WGT 10x and still dont get lucky with the helm? no problem you can craft one for those 10 pieces.

When you get your character to Vet ranks, holler at me again and I'll make you some more. When you get v16 though, you may want to consider mixing some crafted with dropped shoulders/helm depending on your build.

Why? Explain this and I'll leave you alone. Because the mmo you came from did this? Love it or hate it, ESO was not created to mimic those titles as far as that specific gear cycle goes. It's tough not having the traits you need to craft your own gear at first, I remember those days as well. Hang in there, you'll get it.

reported for personal attack..however arguing that monster sets in combo with hundings making higher dps than 9 pieces of hundings is a dumb argument. 5 piece hundings outperforms the sets I listed which are infinitely harder to get in the traits you want.

Don't nerf crafted item. Don't nerf something because it's more powerful (unless it's totally overpowered), but boost the other option. Please, no more nerf, bring back buffs.

And make the game even more faceroll than it already is?

I was, and I sill am against a lot of nerf in this game. Nerf isn't the solution. Nerfing difficulty so much was an error in my opinion.
Boost useless set but also boost the difficulty in pair with our buff, I'm asking it both on the french forum (before we lose our CM) and the english forum from a long time now. I'm sick of be able to do a public dungeon/WB/dolmen alone with underlevelled rerolls (6-10 less level) of any classes without any cp or crafted stuff.
