This is a very bad poll.

Because there is no evidence that they care about anyone.

casual players can't get the gear because it's hard
And "elite" is being ignored in terms of game balance etc

It definitely cares about everyone because it does very little to cater for elite players atm.

    eso only want elites?
There have been many Kings of certain countries, in the past, who have had better gear than their heroes. They have purchased this gear or have had it made for them. This is a more realistic situation, and I'm not saying that this should be the case. But this is a game. How is it where only ppl who are able to complete this content, either be it by great skill or the fact that living closer to the server making it easier to get it, fair? I will probably lose every time anyway but at least it would be nice to say it wasn't due to the gear unavailable to me. I know that in real life too, that some cultures had to fight against others who had better gear, and so be it. But it was still available for those who have the better gear to sell to those who didn't. Why am I not allowed to argue for the right to buy? Your saying I should put up with it and not try any avenue I can? Sometimes the use of words when losing a battle may be the only hope, and in a rare occasion, might just work. ;P

I am very successful in real life and just want to enjoy a game creating new characters and experimenting with different possibilities. BOP limits fairness and possibility. Show off the magnificent achievements with great costumes and create level a playing field is what I'm saying.

Because the great weapons are only available bind on pick up to pll who can manage to complete Maelstrom arena, giving ppl who can complete it access to these weapons and no one else who may want to buy and cant do it, gives these players an unfair advantage so proving they only care about elite players.

So doing something the many can't do shouldn't be rewarded? That doesn't sound right, that sounds like everyone should get the gold star of participation. The weapons really aren't that good anyways, have you tried them on PTS? Also what would you think the price would be if they were hard to get and BoE? Remember the Rings of Agility and how the prices of those went up over 500K? I'm sorry but if Maelstrom weapons were BoP you would have still made this thread just with different context.

You are basically suggesting P2W or that the best items in game should be sell-able with no discernible level of skill required to getting the best gear in game. Where's your progression? Your Reward?

No you should be rewarded there are many ways to reward someone, and even if it is with these weapons useless or fantastic, BOP is the problem. I could argue that these great ppl who can get through this very difficult content, are being shafted because they cant sell their well earned reward. Once they have their well earned reward what incentive do they have to redo it again once they have all the rewards available? none its just decon rubish. Let the market decide the price. If the gear is not that great no one will buy it anyway. Some ppl enjoy the game by just trading. Whats wrong with that? Variety is the spice of life.
Hey look I like the arguments being made tonight by most ppl. Its great. I would not have made mine if I didn't like the game in the first place. But the best games are the ones that have the most level playing field, and no Im not saying that all abilities should be homogenized, the use of combos combined with skills (which i am sadly lacking) should be where its at.

Well really it all should be bind on equip and ppl who are brilliant should get magnificent costumes so the game remains fair for all. I wont get into the argument of which gear is best or not thats another issue. or even titles as you do in cyrodiil. anywho ive said my piece now and im very pissed (drunk)

There has to be a gear chase otherwise players will have no practical reason to run new content.

I don't agree all the new Orsinium armor sets should have been BoP, but we need some stuff like the Maelstrom weapons that require completion of end-game content. That's not "elite," that's actually how fantasy RPGs have operated ever since forever.

I know Maelstrom is not easy and frustrating and that it would be better if it were challenging and fun. Still, it does not require and elite build or elite gameplay to complete it. Stage 5 is probably hardest one outside the last. I have a strategy that kills the boss every single time if you care to consult it in my sig.
Make Rush of Agony "Monsters only." People should not be consecutively crowd controlled in a PvP setting. Period.

As someone who promotes Tier 2 play (Aim for the leaderboards but laugh at the guys who rage quit on you when you're not optimized) I don't think for one second that ESO caters or only cares about the elite. MSA is hard, sure...but it's not impossible. I've managed to make it on a DK (without someone coaching me through) to Round 5 of Arena 9 and I make it to round 8 every time now.

With each fight I get farther and I learn a little more and I usually earn a Champion Point in the process. Plus I've grabbed a few pieces of the Succession set in Divines to test out on an Altmer Magicka DPS idea I had.

I believe that the recent announcement that they are only raising the Champion Points cap 51 points per quarter starting with Q2 shows that they do care about casual players.

About the master weapons, you don't need them to be effective.
Content this hard should have adequate rewards. This is not an unfair advantage. People who are good at what they do should be rewarded. It is actually fair, really.
Just so that everyone knows, my Altmer still can't have black hair. About a dozen of Altmer NPCs in the game have black hair. Just saying.

    Meet my characters:
    Command: Do the thing.

Zadarri, Khajiit Fist of Thalmor: The thing was done, as commanded.
Durza gra-Maghul, Orc blacksmith: The thing was done perfectly, in the most efficient way.
Tegwen, Bosmer troublemaker: You can't prove I didn't do the thing.
Sings-Many-Songs, Argonian fisher: Sure, I'll do the thing... Eventually. Maybe.
Aerindel, Altmer stormcaller: After extensive research, I've come to the conclusion that doing the thing would be a waste of resources.
Liliel, Dunmer pyromancer: Aerindel said I shouldn't do the thing. Something about "resources".
Gyda Snowcaller, Nord cryomancer: I will find a way to do it that won't waste resources and make Aerindel proud of me.
Beatrice Leoriane, Breton vampire: I persuaded someone else into doing the thing. You are welcome, dear.
Sahima, Redguard performer: Doing the thing sounds awfully unpleasant and really not my problem.
Ellaria Valerius, Imperial priestess: I'll pray to the Eight for the thing to be done, if it is Their will.

This is true and everyone has been outraged by the BoP system with the last DLC. I would say the economy would have been better and would have been thriving still if BoP wasn't used to the extreme that it has been done. I like hard solo content and even harder group content, but when it comes down to rewards ESO/ZoS have always been on the low side, to the point were it's sad.

I was not trying to read like I was attacking your point, but a lot of players have been overly needy lately with wanting something for free or close to it. The more QQ'ing we have in this game the more ZoS will listen and if the QQ'ing isn't constructive then the game changes will be destructive.

Yes, Maelstrom Weapons are difficult to earn. But some things in the game SHOULD be. Not worth crying over. Especially considering they are supposedly making it so that v16 Master Weapons (not to be confused with Maelstrom weapons) can drop in weekly rewards.

Yes, I can understand your vendetta in regards to Maelstrom weapons. However, let's take into account they made CPs soooooo ridiculously easy to earn for casuals. I would say this is a great indicator hard cores are not their primary focus.

This is a non-issue. Find something else to cry over

Sorry OP. I agree with this post. I know that some weapons are meant for those hard core peeps. Will I ever get them? Probably not. I'm sorta in the middle of casual and hardcore. I need to accept it. There is some content I can do and some I can't. There's so much in this game to do! Find your nitch, embrace it, and work it! Personally? I want a full set of Glass Armor... so farming Rubeto, money, and Malachite is what I'm focusing on right now.... until Thieves Guild!!!!

The game is certainly casual friendly.

However, the higher end stuff is "how much play time" friendly.

I guess that's not too unreasonable... personally I haven't set foot in Maelstrom arena and barely into dragonstar arena and don't do any pve raids because it's just a bit too time consuming all in all; I don't even do the undaunted dailies for the same reason.

Thing is, I'm ranked relatively high enough in pvp and have no competitive disadvantage even with a somewhat limited play schedule. This is a good thing, a really good thing. Just because I might not be free to log in every day doesn't particularly effect my ability to have fun in pvp and be competitive at it.

The only thing past all that is that if you want to best of everything in ESO... you will need to be a full time player (or at least putting in full time hours in the course of a week). I don't think that is too unreasonable a thing if that's your thing.
