How to make gold without trading?

First of all i play on console and as i said in another post trading is not so "alive"...in addition, i am not into trading either..

So i wonder, what is the best way to make gold without trading? Questing? Grind? Stealing/fence?

I just need gold to be able to get max bag slots and be able to reset skills without worry too much of being broke..

just grind dude, and don't decon anything, you can rack up 5-6k pretty quick, check your champ points I would but im at work. I believe you can increase treasure/amount of gold or quality of loot from chests. also work ledgerman skill line and steal stuff and just turn it in for even more gold.

Stealing can give easy 10k per hour. Ive read that some players have built a new character just to steal, with 1+ mill bounty.

Trading is perfectly alive. Issue is for instance in AD you need a trader in Grahtwood or Rawlka otherwise your sales will be just plain bad. Too many guilds for so little spots. Get into a big 500 strong guild in a top spot and you'll make tons of gold. Only issue at the moment is selling motifs every seller is plagued with mercenary crap atm and people just cannot be bothered to sift through it all. For instance trying to find a dwemer page now is pretty damn tedious.

I've made a lot of money just stealing in Orsinium. The things you can get there seem to be worth more. And you get better things in containers, for the most part. Not all, mind you,but a lot.
Still,in the end,I have made up to 15,000 on just one stack of certain mats selling to a guild store.I added a few of said mats in stacks of 100,into three separate guilds, and it jumped my gold amount way up there.Well, not millions,no,but a pretty penny was earned.

Or decon them for the leveling of your crafting skills.Hence better levels, hence better armor, which you can sell.

Nah, selling to a vendor nets more. Unless you have 9 traits ans can do most styles, you're not going to sell armour.

    Easily grinding mobs that have
    • Fast Spawn Rate
    • Low Health
    • High mob numbers
    • Good layout of group of mobs

Loot only the valuable stuff they have, which are:
    • Weapons (Staves, Daggers, Swords, Axes, Maces, Great Axes, Mauls, Great Swords
    • Armor (Helmet, Shoulders, Chest, Legs, DO NOT PICK UP FEET, WAIST, HANDS)
    • Hide Scraps

Then grind and sell, and repeat.

    Also have high inventory space.

I've gained approximately 400k+ gold altogether on my 7 characters just from grinding.

I've sold quite a bit of my armor, without any traits.Just improvement. I dont get massive amounts of money, but it all adds up.Unless you are into fast money.

I can make quite a bit of gold, as others stated, just by grinding mobs and looting everything then selling them to a regular Merchant. You can also join a Trade Guild (you access selling through them directly at the bank so it isn't like you have to go out of your way or even deal with other players); I am a member of four Trade Guilds and make a lot of money selling through them. I typically sell the 'unsellable' low level stuff to Merchants and sell the better stuff through the Trade Guild. Just be sure not to set an outrageous price and it'll usually sell fairly quickly.

If you can't or wont sell to other players in-game, than it's stealing. Surprised it's not nerfed yet.

There's some great places where you dont even need to sneak or worry about NPC's. Just loot and than relogg so you can loot all over again.

Because of the character fence sell limit, it's highly rewarding to have alts here, allowing you to sell more stolen stuff. I can easily make 100k in an evening just stealing and using up all my alts fence limits.

Farming trophies/tel vars in IC is very effective, but if you want a safe way, just find a place with a ton of containers in one of your Silver/Gold locations preferably (places like Wayrest castle are perfect for this), loot all the things and relog. Containers will refresh. In Wayrest, you dont even need to relog, just loot the houses and go to outlaws refuge, it also resets the containers.
Also some people are farming nirncrux (it can spawn on any ore/wood/cloth node in Craglorn) and ancient orc motifs (Orsinium public dungeons) but its very RNG dependent.

Unless you only loot gold from the mobs, you WILL need trading to get gold, be it selling to npcs, or deconstructing the items to sell the mats.

I feel like it's really silly to not trade. Especially if you want bag space. My bag space isn't maxed yet and my next upgrade will cost me $60,000. It's the best way to make gold in the game, overlooking it is just foolish in my opinion.

lol. the responses. since it wont hurt me i will give you my secret. i should charge like 100 k gold for this like those infomercials but it will be my tood deed for the day. maybe this will give good karma for the Parriots game. lol

Level all your toons in Blacksmithing, Woodworking, Enchanting, and Clothing. Doesnt take long. go to the highest zombie level spot you can. do it naked except weapons if you can to minimize repair costs. decon everything you get. you only need to be level 40 so you can do void marerial.

Then do daily write on all you toons. have a bunch of void material in you bank so you have enough for a couple days. have enough of each of the four essence runes on each toon that are required for the enchanting writs. dont worry you will learn them. you want to minimize running to the bank each day. that way you can get your writs sone each day in like 20 min.

save up your survey maps and go do them all like once a week. while doing them, i do them in craglorn, farm all raw resources you see to get chances at nirn.

you also get items with intrinsic on them that i sell in my guild stores for 300 each as people will buy them to level crafts quicker. you also get green glyphs which i sell for 200 each to also help people level enchanting quicker.

from the mats you get refining you will get yellow tempers and kutas and also you get yellows from doing the writs i get like a million a week easy.

all it cost me was time to level each toon which wasnt easy i have to admit, and time to trind enough skill points.

i cant tell how orsinium is doing this as i refuse to give zos a dime. but i have like 4 mill in the bank with about 10 full sets of v16 gold gear.

Feel free to ask me any questions.

Sorry each doing each writ gives 600 gold. so for four toons i get 600 x 4 x 4 equals 9200 gold each day as well. thats almost 70k a week just from that.

Stealing/Fencing works great with me. I have only spent one skill point in Leg... to unlock 100 fences per day.

Last night, I spent 30 minutes in my special secret town and made 10k. boom!

    At low-to-mid character levels: Fencing.

At mid-to-high character levels: Grinding high-density mobs and vendoring drops.

Daily quests--writs, in particular--can yield a fair bit of gold at VR levels, though not as quickly as efficient grinding. But I do like doing writs at max rank because they pay for themselves material-wise via surveys, and they're an excellent source of gold mats (which you can sell to players for gold, if you want to also figure in some amount of trading).

For a change of pace, the repeatable cyrodiil quests in the towns (cropsford, Bruma, etc) take only a few minutes to complete and are worth ~300 gold on turn in.

There is no shortcut I know of.
Just be content with your gear.
    Save your money.
Put serious thought into the build you'd like.
If I had the gold I've wasted on build-incompatible pieces I'd be rich!
One by one buy affordable items that add to the build or the creation thereof.
    You'll get there.
    It ain't easy being green.

I have already done some steal/fence and got 4k gold for the 110 fences i can do today..and that only on 1 char...

With 3 characters is about 10k per day for around 1 hour...thats really enough for my needs :) thanks for the tips all!

And how do you get 9 traits? By Research which is another form of deconing.

Not really. It's researching. The item being destroyed is just a consequence of researching it.
