The problem most people have with templar is they get set in a "i need to do X because the meta is Y." Don't put yourself there. Templars have an entire class tree devoted to support, so use it (all morphs of all skills). When someone posts a templar build utilizing webs people should embrace that as an excuse to experiment more. If someone seems too tanky for their own good, whisper them about their build. If someone hits like a truck and has the sustain to get away after a kill, ask them how they do it. The class isn't going to get any better if people just complain about heals and say that stam is too powerful.

Not true. Negating meteor, curse, crystal frags and a few other skills using puryfing ritual sets you up for offensive moments. I'd say it's a strength not a disadvantage.

Be very careful with Youtube videos, most videos show top players killing lesser experienced players and it may look like the class is crazy....then you try the same and you get steamrolled
Templar, as @hammayolettuce stated, is in a good spot.
Templar is the most balanced class in the game right now. It excels at some things, but it also lacks some things. That's what a balanced class is.
The only changes I think should occur:
-Radiant Destruction shouldn't be dodgeable
-Purifying Light should be able to crit
-Explosive Charge should have a snare or something(Kinda weak atm)
-Fix bugs associated with Focused Charge
-Vampires Bane should be "Magic" damage not "Flame" damage
-Activating a Dawn's Wrath ability gives you 5% spell damage(Minor Sorcery). A different Templar passive gives 6% weapon damage(not a major/minor buff) without requiring anything slotted. Since Templar is seen as a weaker DPS class, a balanced change can be adding a 6% spell damage bonus to the weapon damage passive and changing the 5% spell damage from using a dawn's wrath ability to 5% overall damage
As you can see, these aren't OP, drastic changes. Most of them are minor tweaks to passives or abilities(much of which aren't working as intended).
I think i found some solice with 5 heavy 2 light, warlock jewels for now, (Willpower is a bit much).
Seducer and Kagernacs hope split.
Main resto
other dual swords.
Focus on regen for magic and rely on harness magicka and sun shield for my spell resist.
plus breathe of life can mostly out heal most magic damage as it comes across.
keep a decent physical resist thanks to all the NB's in play.
and main DPS would be Jabs with dark flare and Radiant Opression.
I truly do not like a lot of the new sets out there, doesnt seem to help the templar much.
However i have a stam DK on the rise and thats proving to be a lot of whoop ass in a can.

Mostly it's their set ups, both in game gear and computer specs and internet speeds. Unless you can match specs and get basically instant reactions from your character, you'll never be able to PvP like the guys on youtube. I duelled a guy who was complaining about 350 ping and half a second delay on weapon swaps during the fight. After I told him I always get that he just kept whining about how unfair it was. What it shows is fights are very rarely fair and you should just go out there and play to have fun, win or lose. When you start to get frustrated or the lag/imbalances start to get too much and it's no longer fun (let's be honest it happens to everyone), walk away for a bit and do something else.Templar, as @hammayolettuce stated, is in a good spot.

I don't agree with that point on radiant. It should hit a little harder, but the ticks at least should be dodgeable. I can't think of any other execute that's not able to be dodged as a last line of defence. If I'm totally honest I don't really agree with the design of that skill as a whole, Templars already have their main DPS as a channel.
If you simply don't like the somersault NB class that rolls from one side of the map to the other never taking damage, that's fair enough, but it's another issue completely.

I think beam shouldnt be dodged either - its a channel, it makes you very exposed and easy to find when youre using on someone.
They needed to fix LOS, not dodge. Also - sorc execute proc cant be dodged.
The only place Templars excel right now is group healing.
