So sad.
Like I said, I am willing to work toward a win, but when its actually impossible, what's the point?
Whatever, no worries. The same way I paid 300k gold for my Kena helmet, ill pay real United States currency for my Maelstrom weapons and Stormproof title. Ill just bring a ringer over to my home and he can sit in my chair and play vMSA on my character while I kick up my feet and relax.
I always get my way.
Go ahead, I won't stop you. But I'll repeat. People expect to get everything handed to them - so sad
Well, give us checkpoints and maybe i'll clear a new stage after tons of effort. With the constant threat of a d/c forcing you to start over, who can even concentrate with that stress?
Bored trolls can keep working me into a corner but ill just keep outmaneuvering you.
ZoS the corporate entity LOVES guys like you. Why should ZoS ever come in a thread to debate the merits of their product, when all you boys love playing devil's advocate in every thread.
And you boys dont even realize when youre being counter-trolled. Pretty sad. But now that you've derailed the thread by personally attacking me, you can go derail another, kthxbye
Ah, typical "haha you've been trolled" response. You should be more creative.
Besides, trolling = derailing, so you just admitted that you derailed your won thread.
Our case has been made. This thread has contributed to ZoS' metadata, and it no longer serves a purpose. When vMSA is inevitably nerfed in some form or fashion, just remember that you failed to stop it. You personally, Koshka. You failed.
Um, is this supposed to be intimidating? Like I said, I dont even like vMA, so I dont care about its difficulty. Of course its going to be nerfed, just like anything else in this game... Sanctum, DSA, IC dungeons... But a new trial is going to be really interesting. I expect a ton of QQ threads.
Oh, and btw - youre the one who failed in vMA, right?
No it was supposed to lure you into responding, which was successful. Thats what trolling is all about, Charlie Brown.
Oh, we got a mastermind over here. Good, good.
Its like these old chat bots. So surprise me, say something intelligent, while this thread is still not locked.
Energy equals mass times the speed of light squared?
This thread is getting locked very soon lol
You didn't play nice did you haha
There are some other suggestions that would help, too. But I'm sure the top 2% would argue against them. Those would be to have a small chance for a v16 Mael weapon to drop from normal mode. Or..they could tone down Vet a bit with the next DLC. Most of those who wanted the "elite" challenge will be done with it by then.
CavalierPrime wrote: »I think your best bet is v15 blue master weapon in normal.
Silver keys give v16 blue shoulders because people complained and didnt want to waste their time. But that isn't even good enough so theyre coming out with the vendor. The only reason to give v16 blue weapons is to get the customers to play the content they paid their employees to create. Do you think the guy who programmed Maelstrom is happy that everyone hates his work? All the months of blood and sweat he poured into that programming was WORTHLESS at this point.
Also the veteran will still be useful for v16 Winterborn type sets and most importantly, the leaderboard. Because if the crybaby narcissist customers cant inflate their ego, they'll bring their own QQ onto the forums.

I would like to reinforce an idea that was suggested in a parallel vMSA thread. Don't take a hammer-nerf to vMSA, but a scapel-nerf. Watch a bunch of casuals play vMSA and adjust certain troublesome attacks or mechanics accordingly.
Right now I am getting brick walled. How can I grind/farm something I can't even beat once? Its like asking me to jump over a 40 foot wall. I simply can't do it. Most of the frustration I have comes from these simple facts:
1) I was extremely excited for vMSA
2) vMSA is ridiculously hard, especially in comparison to normal
3) I would have played a balanced arena all day every day. Instead I give it a real shot every 20-30 cp, and when I dont improve at all, its another round of rage.
I am very QQ about this.
Other than bugs....it's ZOS' opinion that vMSA is for elite players and not casuals so it's serving its purpose.
I haven't finished it either but that's fine with me.
I think the real concern of the thread are ways to find comparable loot and not at all a concern with vMSA
What ideas do you have or what have I overlooked that existing content could provide.
You can actually get all of the V16 armor just by running the first few rounds (or however many you can complete). The rings and neck you can get from normal mode if you'd like to complete a certain set.
The weapons are difficult to acquire but in the end they are minor improvements if any for a host of previously mentioned reasons.

That "top 2%" wouldn't argue against a Save feature if it prevented their scores from counting on the leader boards. There was already a thread about that.
My analogy absolutely applies to MMOs today. It started with Warcraft. They stopped at some point many years ago to make the game's achievements and milestones more inclusive instead of exclusive, because the vast majority of new players were from this new generation of entitled kids who wanted everything handed to them. You used to need keys/attunement in order to have access to higher end dungeons, etc. In EverQuest you used to hang in the commonlands tunnels to sell your wares until Warcraft spoon fed everyone with a global auction house.
I've got kids in school. Today they hand awards out to everyone as a group instead of recognizing individuals or they give everyone on a team a trophy so no one feels left out. It takes away something in my opinion.
Why does he have no chance to complete it? He has the same chance as everyone else who's completed it had.

Yeah. I saw that thread. And I understand their concern. But a save-mode would do wonders for many players. I would think it simple to make saving your progress disqualify you from the leaderboard. But I'm not a programmer.
But you keep skipping the point of the OP with your analogy. Why should he pay for a DLC where he has no chance of completing the end-game content? And he's not asking to be spoon-fed. He's asking for spoon. Or at least chopsticks.

An initial clear of vMA can take many, many hours. Some of us can't commit to a game that long. Thus the option to save progress is what I'd be asking for. But you could also argue that if only the top 2% can do it, then why should the other 98% buy the DLC to begin with. And believe me, you do need the money of the other 98%. This isn't the real world.

And your point would be completely valid IF Veteran Maelstrom Arena was the only thing in the whole DLC. However, as it stands, the vet version is a half of a small thing in a huge DLC catered to most possible ways of playing, from casual to hardcore. Therefore, vMSA has it's rights to exist in its current form as the single thing in the entire game to please the so called "elite" or "hardcore" community. No it's not being kept away from others. vMSA was meant to be difficult and directed towards the "hardcore" crowd. It was never planned to make it casual friendly, therefore it's not being taken away from anyone who is not part of the "hardcore" community of this game.
While I, and many others, would not mind a save function, they already stated that programming one is for whatever reasons a pile of work and they don't plan on doing so, if I remember correctly.

You have the normal version, you have the entire zone with two public dungeons and multiple world bosses to play around.
If you can't commit so many hours to it, that's completely okay. Everyone their own right? But don't try to take it away from others.
I'm sorry? Don't take it away from others? vMA in its current state, especially without a "save" mode is taking it away from many, many others.
Normal Maelstrom saves progress so why would it be hard to make vMSA save progress?
